Robert's

POV

"I think I am falling for you" I confessed while kissing her forehead.

I don't know why I did this so early.

I thought I would say that after much time.

But right now, I want her to know that she has this great effect on me, which no one ever had. I want her to know that she is the only one who could change Robert Anderson. "Huh?" she said while backing off a little.

"Don't freak out, Hailey. I am... I-I think that" I said and she looked at me as if I had grown two heads.

"R-Really, Robert?" she asked, once getting a hold of herself.

"Yes" I replied and the shock on her face turned into a faint smile.

"I am glad to hear that" she replied, shocking me.

I smiled at her. "Your presentation was wonderful" I added.

She smiled. "Thank you, Robert. You know what? At first... I was very nervous. But I liked it when you clapped for me"

"Of course, I would. Why wouldn't I? You did an awesome performance."

"Thanks! And at first... I was afraid too. What if I made a mistake? A single mistake can make us lose the contract. Why did you let me do such a big task?" she asked whilst sitting on the desk more comfortably.

"Because you do an amazing job, Hailey. And why were you afraid? Even if you make a mistake, it wouldn't matter..." I said and she sighed.

"To be honest, I was afraid that you'd be angry if I made any mistake. I mean... it is plausible that you will be. It was one hell of an important contract. We can't afford to lose it, at least not when we are suffering from such a great deal of loss"

"I won't be angry at you for such a small thing, Hailey. I won't" I said as I sat on one of the chairs.

She looked at me and gave me a 'are you serious look.

"Okay, maybe I would have gone mad... but I have changed. I wouldn't get angry over such a small thing now, Hailey" I said and she smiled.

"Yes, you have, I do not doubt that," she said and got down from the desk.

"Now, let me complete my pending works," she said and left the room. I smiled at her and went back to my office to complete mine.

I went back to my office and started doing my pending work on the laptop. I was lucky; for I can see her anytime from here. Her cabin is completely in my sight.

After staring at her beauty for quite a long time, I decided to do my work. Some pending contracts needed to be signed, some important meetings needed to be prepared for. Well, I don't prepare for meetings. Hailey does. I just go through their files once in a while, so I don't feel like a complete fool with no knowledge.

After all, I am the CEO.

After doing all the work, I looked up to see Hailey. She was still working on her laptop, and she looked stressed. I immediately went to her.

"What's wrong? You seem stressed" I confronted her. She sighed.

"I don't know. Mr. Panzer just won't take this deal" she said and turned her laptop towards me. "He says he needs 42% shares. How can that be possible!? He is being unreasonable because we are now in the loss"

I thought for a second and then answered her. "Leave him. Tell him we don't need to-"

"But we do!" she cut me off.

"Reverse psychology, Hailey. Tell him what I am saying" I said and she nodded.

I smiled and left the cabin.

Hailey's POV

I did as he said and typed in that we can turn the deal off the table because we can't possibly provide him with the number of shares, he was asking for. After quite a long time, he replied that he is ready to negotiate!

I can't believe Robert's trick worked. Sure, he isn't the best businessman for nothin'.

"Robert!" I said and ran to his cabin. All the staff has already left the office till now, so I can scream and shout all the way I want.

"Yeah? What happened?" he asked, suddenly tensed.

"Oh, nothing... I mean, something really good! He is ready to negotiate! We will settle him for 30%!"

"Good if you can do that. But I might consider sending the negotiator for the next steps" he said and smiled. "It is so good that you are so smart" "Really? This was your idea. So practically, you are the smart one" I said, sitting on one of the chairs.

"But you completed it. Like you complete..." he said and took another seat. "... Me"

I looked at him and he smiled lovingly at me. I blushed and shied away, but he took my hand and kissed it. "You are the other half of me," he said.

"You read it on the internet?" I asked.

"How does that matter?" He asked, suddenly irritated. "I was getting so romantic and you..."Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on Narugi.com. "Yeah" he replied and placing a quick peck on my lips, he took his stuff and we went down to his car and drove off.

I reached home with him, and preparing dinner was a good idea, he loved it. He told me that I should cook from tomorrow, right? But I don't listen to him!

He was quite shocked when I told him that I dismissed the cook. Nevertheless, he enjoyed and even praised my food.

Guess we are going in the right direction.

"Tomorrow there is this important meeting. You have prepared?" he asked me while eating.

"Yes. I have"

"Um... I wouldn't speak much in this" he said.

"What? Please not again" I sighed.

"Nope... I mean, I really will not. I will just be present. You have to manage everything for this one too"

"But what if I make any mistake-"

"I don't care. Just try your best, that is what I expect" he said and smiled. "You will, right?"

"Of course, Robert," I said and got up, as I completed my dinner. "Meet you at night"

"Yeah" he replied and I made my way towards the room to study for tomorrow's meeting once again.
