Robert's POV

Tomorrow's meeting is a deal we need to make with the Hunter Association. It was not my idea, and neither his, but we need to come together to develop a special security system that would help the Pentagon in national security. Being the two leading businesses, and coincidentally, a security manufacturing company, we were specially asked to team up and do this personally.

I could have turned down the offer, but being a good businessman, I can't let my personal feelings hamper my company's or anyone else's reputation, nor can I let national security be in any threat. So, I decided to accept this. But I hate that Ervin and I will always. That's why I want Hailey to maintain everything tomorrow and I know she is capable.

I went back to my room and found her working on her laptop.

"Work?" I asked as I sat beside her.

"Hm... yes. Robert, tomorrow's meeting is way more important than any meeting in this entire year. Are you sure I can handle this?" she asked and I only smiled at her.

"Hailey, you can do this. Just be confident"

"I was thinking about how to become a Jessica Snyder. She is an awesome personal assistant" she exclaimed.

"Hailey?" I said, now in a more sleeping position. "Don't even think of becoming like someone else. I want Hailey Cameron as my PA. Moreover, tomorrow, just be yourself. Present it the way you do. That is what makes it all better" I said and her eyes lit up. "You think?"

"I know" I replied, now completely in a sleeping position. "And now, sleep. Don't overwork yourself. You have prepared enough, don't study more"

"But the more I know, the merrier," she said and looked at me with a question mark.

She looked up at me and I looked at her. She smiled and kissed me.

That was just the first time, SHE initiated a kiss, willingly. I smiled and kissed her back.

We slept after that because tomorrow is gonna be a tiring day.

Hailey's POV

I woke up and found that he was not beside me. I figured I again slept more, so I got up and saw the time.

7 AM.

Well, I think not so much.

Anyway, I got ready and went downstairs. I told the cook again that we didn't need him to cook anything more from now on, so he can leave.

He left and I started making breakfast. Once done, I went to the table and arranged it. He has not returned or come here, so I thought he was not in the house.

I called him and he picked up at once.

"You up?" he asked me.

"Yes, a long time ago. Breakfast is ready, when will you come?" I threw my question at him.

"You made it?" he asked.

"Yes," I replied whilst making my way to the kitchen again.

"Well... in 10 minutes?"

"Okay, come fast" I replied and he accepted.

I cut the call and started thinking about things.

Things like... isn't this the life I always dreamed of?

I know, they say that after marriage, it is your husband and his family, who is yours, but no, I don't agree with them.

The one who gave me birth, the one who raised me, can't be forgotten so easily.

I just want to meet my mom. And today might be a good time to ask him... if I make no mistakes in the project presentation.

I said to myself and went back to the living room and waited for him.

He came after 9 minutes and smiled at me. "I came one minute fast"

I chuckled at his cute behavior of coming 'one minute fast'. Then we sat down and ate breakfast.

"It is just so delicious. Will you make it regularly?" he asked while eating his food.

"Yeah sure if you like it that much," I said and ate mine.

"Sure, I do. Nothing is better than this!" He exclaimed and I smiled.

"You are so sweet," I said.

After completing the dinner, I glanced at my watch. I had some more time.

I took out Ervin Hunter's file. I remember him; he was the one who got the second-best businessman award of the year, and yes! He was the one who got Robert mad. Maybe that is the reason he wants me to do this one.

That too without any mistakes.

I made my way towards the car, while the file was still in my hands. I read my project file all over, while he was driving his car to the office.

As I reached the office, he told me that we have to go to a separate venue for the meeting, because Ervin didn't agree to come here, and being the leading company, we don't go to other companies for contracts.

He told me that the meeting is organized in a hotel room, known as a conference room. We entered and I came face to face with Ervin Hunter and an older man, probably his dad.

"Hello, Mr. Robert" the old man was quick to speak. "I am Mark Hunter"

"Hello, Mr. Mark" Robert replied. "And Mr. Ervin"

"Hello, Mr. Robert" Ervin replied. "And you are...?" he asked me.

All eyes were at me, waiting for me to answer.

"H-Hailey Cameron" I finally spoke. "His PA"

"Oh, hello Ms. Hailey," he said.

"Actually-" Robert interrupted me.

"She is a missus. My wife" he said.

Ervin showed a little surprise, while the old man remained indifferent. "Oh, that's good to know," he said. "Yeah" I replied.

"So, when did you get married?" Ervin asked Robert, while he was least interested in answering his questions.

"We're not here to write my biography. Can we discuss our project?" Robert said coldly and Ervin smirked.

"Sure" he replied and I took a deep breath.
