Chapter 220 Three Men

Lysander, too, felt a bit awkward.

She hadn’t had much contact with Zachary for many years and really didn’t know if he could play pool.

Luckily, Adrian didn’t say much. He picked up the cue, walked to the edge of the table, and asked. “What do you want to play? Eight–ball or snooker?”

Zachary replied, “I can play both.”

“It seems like Mr. Powell can play quite well, ch?”

“I’m all right.

Lysander didn’t know much about pool, so she could only stand by the side and watch.

She guessed they were playing eight–ball. She had once seen a famous player from Ecron on TV playing snooker, using all kinds of hidden ball techniques.

However, those two didn’t seem to have any intention of using hidden ball techniques; they were both desperately trying to pocket the balls as quickly as possible.

The last black eight–ball was potted by Zachary

Did Zachary actually win the game?

Lysander was somewhat shocked.

Zachary chuckled and remarked, “You let me win, Mr. Sutton.”

Adrian, on the other hand, wore a stern expression and replied earnestly, “I didn’t let you win, Mr. Powell. Your skills are indeed exceptional.”

“Shall we play another round?”

Sure.”

It seemed the two had found worthy opponents in each other and started another round.

Just then, Daphne arrived to report the results.

“So, that girl is the granddaughter of the Stone family from East Harborbrook. She’s an Atharia–born Ecronian, raised abroad since childhood, and just turned twenty this year. She’s been studying fashion design in Atharia and just came back less than half a month ago. I was wondering how there could be someone in Harborbrook that I don’t know. Turns out, I’ve never met her!”

Lysander, not very familiar with the names in high society, asked, “What’s the Stone family like?”

“It depends on who you compare them with. Compared to the Guerra family and the Sutton family, they’re not as prominent, but they do surpass my family slightly. The Stone family has a long–standing presete in the clothing business; they’re reputed to be quite formidable.”

“Oh, let’s not delve into that. The Stone family has faced tragic losses. Initially, Old Mr. Stone had four sons, but then there was a plane crash, and three of them passed away, leaving only the third son behind. He later got married and had a daughter, the one in your photo, but not long after, he met with a car

accident-”

“He died?”

“No, he didn’t, but…” Daphne lowered her voice and continued, “Rumor has it that the accident had… consequences for the man’s personal life.”

Lysander frowned and asked, “So, did the Stone family not have any children after that?

“Yes, this girl is incredibly cherished by the entire Stone family. Old Mr. Stone believed that he brought bad luck, and feared any child growing up around him would encounter disaster. Hence, she was sent abroad to be raised before she was even a month old. It was only a few months ago that Old Mr. Stone passed away, prompting Mr. Stone to bring his daughter back home.”

Upon hearing that, Lysander almost burst out laughing.

Fantastic! Yet another only daughter, and this one is truly precious. She might very well be groomed to take over the family business in the future. She was raised abroad under the attentive care of her family. She’s in her early twenties and relatively inexperienced with the world. All these make her quite easy to handle.

“By the way, Lysander, I’ve got something to tell you.”

“What is it?”

“I asked Zane just now. You still remember him, right?”

Lysander remembered the name,

Previously, Josiah had asked Zane to sneak a peek at Daphne’s status update, but he accidentally sent the screenshot to the wrong person, ending up sending it back to Daphne.

That led to a series of awkward texts exchanged between the two for a while.

“What about him?”

“Zane is a dumb ss! He doesn’t even know her, yet he volunteered to inquire about her for me. And in the end, it looks like he went to Josiah for help.

Lysander was rendered speechless. “You didn’t tell him that the photo was sent by me, did you?”

“No.”

“That’s good.

“But there’s a watermark of your phone model on the photo.”

What?

Daphne’s phone was an Apple, yet the photo she sent had a Motorola logo, indicating that it was a photo she received from someone else.

The identity of the person who sent her the photo was self–evident.
