Lucinda

POV

Lucinda tried repeatedly to pull her wrist free of his grip, but he just tightened it until she stopped trying in the end. His strides were much longer than hers were and she found herself practically dragged around the pack by him. She was constantly speed walking or trotting to try and keep up with him. He wouldn't let go of her wrist and seemed to be on some sort of speed mission that was completely exhausting for her.

Nick had shown her the pack-house first. Seeing as they were already in it. There was no Luna's office, she noted, guess he didn't expect much of her then. Then he had pulled her over to the training grounds, off the right of the pack-house. It was large with an obstacle course, a flattened area for sparring and he'd pointed out where everyone started the day with a 5k run through the woods in human form.

Then they went off to see where the pack hospital was and then the town centre. He walked her down into it and showed her cafes, restaurants, a movie theatre and a shopping mall, though he didn't take her inside, just told her she could come down and see it later. Then over to the creche which backed onto a big playground, full of jungle gym equipment for the little ones to climb all over, a good place to start their basic training.

Ky'ra had perked up instantly and wanted to stop and watch the pups, but he just mentioned it in passing. Even when she'd dug her heels in, to try and stop him for just a brief minute, he'd pulled her along without much issue. He was very strong, much more so than she was in human form. He was on a mission of his own making and nothing was going to deter him from it, it seemed.

The several-hour long so-called tour of his pack, ended where it started, back at the pack-house. The building was all white cement rendered, and twice the size of Half Moon Packs. There was indeed a car park with spaces for his and other pack cars. She noted his was not there, probably off to get repaired, after Ky'ra had scratched the hell out of it. There was also a grassed area and a long fountain that held Koi Fish.

It was already lunch time by the time he'd finished dragging her all over the place. He had introduced her to quite a few people, some of the trainers for his warriors, as well as for his juniors. They were huddled on the training ground and, from what she had heard, were going over this week's training plan.

He'd introduced her to the three pack doctors, two female and one male. As well as several of the people in the town centre and who they passed, on their way around the pack grounds.

Lucinda was exhausted to be honest and just sat at the table for lunch, not particularly hungry, didn't say anything. Hadn't really said anything most of the morning, had stopped after an hour of being pulled around by him. She didn't eat anything. He'd actually gone off and gotten her a plate of food himself. Probably thought he was being considerate or something.

She'd just stared at it.. She didn't touch it, did drink a glass of water and poured herself another to drink as well. She was very thirsty, they'd not stopped all morning, not even for a drink. How he could just go on like that, was beyond her. "What's wrong?" he asked her, sounded annoyed with her, she thought.

She didn't answer him, didn't want to. Her wrist actually hurt from his constant grip and when she looked at it from under the table, she saw the hand print still there. A slight bruising of her skin, she doubted he even knew his grip had been too tight.

"I'm tired." she'd finally mumbled after she could feel him just staring at her, he wanted an answer "Can I go and unpack now." She really just wanted to be away from him right this minute, be alone. Not used to having constant company. "Eat first. I'll get you that code for our suite, and after lunch you can go unpack."

Lucinda said nothing. Didn't look at anyone, couldn't. Right this minute she just wanted to go back home. She felt a hand touch her arm gently from her right and turned to replace Kevin watching her. He was frowning at her. She just turned away, rubbed her wrist under the table, she knew the pain would go away soon and the bruising too. A part of her was wondering if he was the type of wolf to actually hurt her physically. 'Won't stand for it.' Ky'ra huffed. She was also annoyed with the man.

'I won't either. One hit is all he will get, I promise you that.

Lucinda didn't think he had actually done this to her on purpose, that was the only reason she wasn't lashing out at him right this minute, putting him in his place.

When he stood after finishing his meal, so did she, though her plate was still untouched. His hand found its way back around her wrist and she was pulled along to his office, a code to get in there as well, she noted.

He finally let go of her as they entered the office. She looked around, rubbed her wrist absently. It was aching again already. Noted there was a long covered table in the middle of the room, split the room into two separate areas, there was also a covered picture on the wall next to his desk. No pack map, nothing for her to get her bearings on. "Where's the map of the pack?" she asked him.

"What do you need that for?" he countered with a frown in his voice.

His office was quite large; had black carpet, a large mahogany desk with a computer on the left side and stacks of papers piled on the right side of his desk. A row of filing cabinets behind his desk on the right side. a large wall safe on full display as well. A high- backed black leather chair for him to sit in. Her eyes moved to what looked like weapon impact marks on it. Unusual to get that close to an Alpha, she was curious if someone tried to assassinate him in his own office. That would mean it was someone he'd trusted. Someone with access to this office considering there was a code used to get in here. She wondered how many people had that.

Or if the code had gone in afterwards.

"I'm curious, that is all. I don't know where your pack is, compared to my home is all."

"This is your home now," he stated flatly, and she glanced at him, thinking no it's not.

His eyes were, however, not on hers to register it, they were on her hands. "What's wrong with your wrist?" he asked and took a step towards her.

Lucinda shrugged, "it hurts," she said honestly, because it did hurt.

He reached out to grab it again and she pulled it away and walked around him before he could. He had two very comfortable looking couches over on the left side of the room in front of a fireplace. It must get cold here in the winter. She thought it wasn't the first fireplace she'd seen today. There was a smaller mahogany table between them and she could see his office had its own private bathroom, the door currently stood open. She felt an arm snap around her waist and she was pulled back against him roughly "What are you doing?" she snapped at him.

His free hand pulled the sleeve of her shirt up and revealed the bruising on her milky white skin. It probably wouldn't look so bad if her skin wasn't so pale, she thought, looking at it herself.

"I'm sorry." he suddenly blurted out "I didn't realise I had such a tight grip on you." he let her go completely.

Lucinda shrugged and stepped away from him. What could she say? Nothing.

"Why didn't you say anything?" he asked her.

Again she just shrugged, she had tried to make him release it several times but he simply hadn't wanted to. She moved away from him, walked around the covered table in the middle of the room to the other side of his office, near his desk, he had two chairs in front of his desk, and four leather chairs and another coffee table further into the room before his desk. Probably where he entertained other Alpha's. This was the business side of the room. The other side was all comfort and plush, this side all business. Her eyes fell on the covered table and she realised it was likely the pack map, maybe a model of the pack and he'd covered it so she couldn't see it. Her eyes moved to the covered picture on the wall, ah that would be the pack map of the surrounding lands with his pack situated in the middle.

He didn't want her to know where she was or even the layout of the pack. Didn't trust her, "is that the pack map?" she asked pointing to the covered place on the wall.

"It is," he nodded. "you don't need to see it at this point."

Lucinda nodded, he thinks I'm going to run away, the minute I know where we are, and where Half Moon Pack is in relation to his pack. She wouldn't go there anyway. Alpha Corey would just call him and send her back or have him come and collect her.

All she wanted to know was where she was compared to her own pack. Hated not knowing where the White Lotus Pack was in relation to where she actually was. Had a deep-seated need to know where her home was, how far away she was, and to locate it on a map. Just for her own comfort, nothing more.

He was staring at her. She could feel it. He handed her a piece of paper. When she looked at it there was a six digit number on it. "if you want to go up and unpack, that's the code for our suite."

Lucinda took it. "Am I allowed to go by myself?"

"Of course. If you want help, I can..."

She cut him off mid sentence "I don't need help." and turned to leave his office, she clearly wasn't welcome in here.

"Lucinda... I didn't mean to bruise you." his tone was apologetic.

She glanced at him, at her wrist. Then she just nodded and walked out of the office, she wouldn't come back in here, of her own accord, that much she knew. She made her way up the stairs. She could have taken the elevator, but this way she got to walk up the beautiful staircase, and it was beautiful. Even the feel of the handrail on her skin was smooth, it was polished well.

Taking the stairs also gave her the chance to have a look at the floors on her own, as she strolled at her own pace. She would take her time.
