I Made A Deal With The Devil -
chapter. 25
By the time they left the office and reached Gage's mansion, the clock had already hit midnight.
Eva walked into the house without waiting for Gage. Her mind was still preoccupied with her task at hand. And if she wanted to finally take her rest, she must make haste and settle it as soon as she could.
So she rushed upstairs and took a quick shower before rushing into Gage's bedroom. She breathed out a sigh in relief when she saw that he was still not inside. She hoped that he would not have entered his room yet until she was done warming his bed. Damn the contract that bound her to do these weird things for him.
She grumbled under her breath as she literally dove into the inviting bed and laid down on her back, unsure on what exactly she should do. He did not give her any rules about this. Should she roll her body over or something? Ugh! Whatever! She huffed out and proceeded to roll about in the spacious bed.
After five minutes or so, Eva finally stopped rolling around and blushed a little. Damn it! What the hell was she doing?
She groaned and buried her face into the pillow, absentmindedly taking note of how soft yet firm the pillow was. Even the pillow was so perfect for the young master. And it... smells incredibly nice. His scent was all over everything in this bed and she couldn't help but inhale and... ugh! Get a grip of yourself Eva! You're here to warm the freaking bed!
Shaking her head, Eva returned her attention to her task. Since he did not give a rule, she really did not need to warm up everything... right? Alright, she would just lie in the middle, that was it! She was not going to roll all over that large king- sized bed like a complete idiot. She still had fifteen more minutes since twenty minutes was the time they agreed in their contract.
Her eyes widened when she finally realized that the bloody arrogant devil was already sitting on the chair. His long legs were comfortably folded as he watched her. How long had he been sitting there watching her making a fool of herself?! Eva felt like she wanted to slam her face into the pillow and scream her lungs out due to embarrassment.
"I thought you're going to roll around for another twenty minutes or more." He said, chuckling lowly and shook his head a little, thinking of how cute she looked earlier rolling about in his bed.
She responded to him with a fierce glare and was about to retort when he suddenly rose from the chair and took his robe off. That one smooth movement revealed his toned and distracting upper body so much that Eva forgot what she wanted to say and was left with her mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.
Eva felt her heart miss a beat when he began to approach the bed. Wait a moment devil... you are not going to...
When he leaned over to climb onto the bed, Eva hurriedly stretched her arms out, her palms facing him as she exclaimed. "What are you doing? I'm not done warming your bed yet."
He blinked at her innocently. "There is no rule that I can't be on my bed while you're still warming it up, right, Eva?" Eva felt as though she almost got hit with a heart attack after hearing his 'innocent' question. Yeah right... innocent? She rolled her eyes internally. This guy was anything but innocent.
"Yes, but. It's not warm yet." She tried stalling.
"Don't tell me... are you scared?" he asked, tilting his head a little, eyes narrowing at her as his gaze grew more intense and locked onto her.
"O... of course not!" she had blurted that out almost immediately. Though it was true that she did not feel like she was afraid, she still thought that maybe she should have said yes instead to his question. Now, it seemed as though her answer would be only a challenge for him to overcome. And she hoped he would not act hastily.
"Then I'm lying down. I'm tired." He said calmly, as though telling her about the weather today.
Eva could only quickly scoot over to the other side as he let his big body down on the bed. Tired my ass! Eva raged internally. You did nothing the whole day but lie on the couch and slept and played with your phone!
She did not speak anymore and just quietly stared at the ceiling. She was tired and sleepy - more than that troublemaker beside her, she was sure about it! - but she could not sleep here! She frantically reminded herself as she bit down on her lips hard, in order to get the pain to keep herself awake. Just fifteen more minutes left. She was just going to lay here like a corpse. She needed to be a warm corpse, though. 'Ha, ha, ha...' she laughed to herself. Her brain must be fried if she can come up with such a thing as a warm corpse.
"Come a bit closer, Eva. At this rate you're just going to warm the edge of the bed." His deep voice echoed.
