Ava dared not conceal the truth. She honestly informed Mason thatBrittany had answered the call.

Mason's gaze shifted toward Brittany Rogwood. She must have hadsome intentions toward Mason, but his look made it clear that she hadno chance.

She was a first-tier female celebrity, and very liberal with her charms.She casually flicked her hair and chuckled, "Mrs. Zoe asked me toremind you that he still has a slight fever and should avoid strenuousexercise."

Sure enough, Mason's handsome face darkened.

Thinking the collaboration was hopeless, Brittany was about to leavewhen Mason stopped her.

He did not personally negotiate. Instead, he instructed Ava to confirmthe fee details before letting her leave.

Ava put on a business-like smile and began discussing collaborationdetails. Of course, she had to lower the price a bit because Mr. Masonwas currently in a bad mood.

The next day, Lockwood Corporation announced that Brittany becamethe spokesperson for Lockwood Corporation. A celebration party washeld in Crocksten.

Rumors easily circulated between business elites and female stars inthe mingling crowd of fame and fortune, especially when there wereseveral scandalous photos.

At the party, Mason gently held Brittany's slender waist. Not tooexcessive, but intimate enough.

Late at night, the two reappeared at the same hotel, with Brittanywearing a mask to exit through a secure passage discreetly. Varioussigns indicated that the CEO of Lockwood Corporation had found anew lover.

The overwhelming rumors naturally caught Zoe's attention.

Ella called and scolded Mason before consoling Zoe not to take it toheart. Ella said, "Men are all rotten. It's not worth getting upset over ascumbag like Mason."

Zoe was playing the violin on the third floor at that moment.

The night's melody was exceptionally mournful, but she laughed afterhearing Ella's words. "I'm not upset. I'm just practicing the violin. Ella,don't worry, I won't bind myself in emotions for Mason anymore."

Ella was slightly reassured and hung up the phone.

Zoe practiced the violin for another half-hour, showered, and went tobed. While applying her skincare, she looked at the newspaper on thedressing table, seeing her husband embracing another woman'sslender waist.

One could not deny that Brittany was very beautiful.

Presumably, she had been the one who answered the phone theprevious night.

Zoe did not call Mason to confront him. She did not even make theroutine courtesy call. She thought Mason might be busy with apassionate night tonight, so there was no reason to bother him andmake him unhappy.

When the servant informed her of their arrival, Zoe had just gotten upand was freshening herself up.

She looked at the servant in the mirror and asked softly, “Is it really Ms.Lilith and her mother?"

The servant was indignant, “Indeed, Mrs. Zoe. Last night, there was amisunderstanding from Mr. Mason. You haven't even said anything butthey, mother and daughter, rushed to the door in a panic. It's as if sheassumes herself to be the real Mrs. Lockwood."

Zoe wiped her face with a towel.

After a while, she said softly, “Let them wait in the small living room fora while."

The servant was surprised. "Mrs. Zoe, are you really going to seethem?"

Zoe smiled slightly with a touch of self-mockery. "What else can I do?She is Mr. Mason's sweetheart! If she is upset, and Mr. Mason isn'taround, I still have to comfort her on his behalf."

The servant went to carry out the instructions, and Zoe carefully choseanother outfit.
