I'm Not Yours, Alpha
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 3

-Mom,” the boy, ignorant of certain matters, walked happily by his mother’s side, “Can you imagine being an alpha, or an omega, how will it feel,” he exclaimed with enthusiasm and curiosity.

-You will be a beta,” affirmed the mother with her hard voice, as always.

-Mom, you can’t know that, after my accident there is nothing to indicate that I will be a beta. You can’t be more flexible on the subject.

-Don’t talk back to me Aidan. You will be a beta, I’m sure of it, and you’d better be, our future depends on today’s result”.

The boy turned his face the other way with a frown. He was always like that with his mother, it was whatever she said and nothing more. Why couldn’t he be an alpha or an omega, he had heard of the complicated relationships between them, the bonds, what it would be like to go through a zeal, experiencing things outside of the majority was more interesting than the basic and routine betas.

Her mother was a beta. Her father, she didn’t know. Natacha never spoke to him about him and was forbidden to bring up the subject. He had lived the last few years watching her sink into bitterness and hatred of non-beta’s. What would her story be, that was something she was sure to take to her grave.

Aidan could feel his palms drenched in sweat. They had been waiting for more than half an hour for the result the doctor was supposed to bring back.

-Mom, what if…?

-Don’t go on,” she cut him off abruptly, “Can’t you see how stressed I am, we’d better wait quietly,” she tried to soften the atmosphere after seeing the expression on her son’s face.

The office door opened five minutes later. A gray-haired man carried several papers in his hands including an envelope that he handed to the youngest, which was snatched from his hands.

His mother opened it and a smile lit up her face.

-I knew it, you’re a beta, I had no doubt.

Disappointment ran through the younger boy. He had expected another result, now nothing could be done. He was just another one of the pile, of the routine.

Aidan opened his heavy eyelids. He let his eyes, little by little, get used to the dim light of the …office? What office? The haze in his mind suddenly blurred.

He sat up so quickly that a dense dizziness assaulted him. What had happened, where was he, what was he doing, what was he doing? He glanced at the watch on his wrist and squinted his eyes to focus, 10:15, it hadn’t been long.

-What are you?” a male voice near him startled him.

Aidan flinched and raised his head, searching for the source of the deep voice in the dim light of the room. He found his boss sitting in the armchair in front of the sofa where he was lying.

The young man opened his mouth to close it again. His words caught in his throat as he tried to process the question. What?

-Answer me- Dominic demanded seriously, though he already seemed less…aggressive, excited…. His eyes had resumed their clear green color and his pheromones seemed to be calmer. There was no trace of heat in that alpha, that was a relief.

-He began to straighten up, rubbing his head, he felt very vulnerable barefoot and in an almost horizontal position. He also realized that his shirt was not exactly well worn and quickly closed the two buttons that exposed the beginning of the valley of his flat chest. He noticed that the man was following the movement of his fingers with his eyes.

-Why do you smell like an omega? My omega,” his teeth almost ground together, emphasizing the last part.

Aidan blinked.

Omega?

He let out an involuntary laugh at the phrase and couldn’t help but keep laughing. It was the first time she had ever been told that, and she had been surrounded by alphas since she joined the company three years ago, at the various corporate meetings. She also had to admit that she was more sensitive to pheromones than your average beta, but she chalked that up to the side effects of her accident, but from that to omega was a pretty good stretch.

His response seemed to annoy the man who let out a grunt and stood up starting to walk towards him.

-Excuse me,” the smile disappeared completely from his face and his body tensed up, his back pressed against the furniture where he was sitting. He didn’t know why but he couldn’t move. He could only watch as that alpha stopped in front of him, tall, big, arrogant. He swallowed dryly looking up and forced his lips to move -I just don’t know where he got that from, I’m a beta, it’s impossible for me to be his omega. Basic biology, you should have gone to school.

Dominic clenched his fist not at all pleased. He was lying.

That fragrance present in the minor was dazing him and not letting him reason well. He thought he could lose control at any moment.

-I’ll give you another chance,” she leaned down until her face was level with his.

She moved her hand and with the back of her fingers caressed the side of his neck, moving down until they stopped where that list of buttons she had fastened earlier began. His skin was really soft. She’d felt it before when she’d laid him down on the couch though she stopped herself from continuing to remove his clothes. He wasn’t a son of a bitch to touch an unconscious body either. He would have time for that later as it writhed under his body.

At that a vein throbbed in the young man’s temple.

-Aidan adopted his serious demeanor when he saw that his answer did not convince him. His pulse throbbed under the touch of those fingers.

Medical papers? So he was serious. Dominic was even more taken aback. At that moment his cell phone rang and the alpha was reluctant to pick it up, refusing to break the atmosphere he liked so much. But at such insistence he straightened up and pulled it out showing Dulse’s name on the screen.

He clicked his tongue. It was not a good time, although that call had brought him to his senses, what did he intend to do by breaking his own rules?

-Do you need anything else president?” the supposed beta made a sign to get up. He seemed desperate to get out of there.

Dominic looked him up and down and gave up. He would wait for information from his secretary. Maybe the doubts would dissolve. Letting him go, though, proved more difficult than he expected.

-You can go,” she turned her attention to her cell phone, taking her mind off the matter, she had to keep her sanity. Breaking his structured life was not in his plans and they would not be for the time being.

Aidan walked out as fast as he could and stuck to the wall breathing calmly at last. That had been the most suffocating hour he had experienced so far including passing out. He checked himself now that his mind was cool and found everything in its place. At least she hadn’t sexually assaulted him. He didn’t want to lose his job. He earned well and was comfortable, despite the state of the company. The salaries were stable enough to avoid any internal scandal.

He just hoped it wouldn’t start a cycle of s****l harassment. He had just gotten out of an exploitative one because of the amount of work he was doing.

He went down the elevator and picked up his briefcase without checking to see if he left anything behind. She needed to get out of there, she needed air.

He arrived home after paying for a cab. It felt good to have a familiar roof over his head. He opened the door of his house to replace his mother in front of the flat TV watching a movie.

-Ma, I’m home.

-Good for Aidan, overtime again,” she paused and turned to him. Hans has been calling you and you weren’t answering your cell phone, he wants you to call him right away.

-Yes,” he snorted. Sometimes her boyfriend, a beta who had been their neighbor since they were kids, could be a bit suffocating, especially when he ignored her calls or forgot them. Because yes, he would be beta but he didn’t like women, he preferred bigger and harder bodies over his making him scream and driving him to the madness of pleasure.

He lost his appetite just thinking about it. Without another word he went upstairs and into the bathroom. A cold shower was best.

He let the water wash away all his worries, or part of them. The image of her president came to her mind. He was handsome, she couldn’t ignore it. Handsome, with thick lips, semi wavy blond hair that had a somewhat long classic cut that caressed the nape of his neck, a height over six feet tall, and a structured body that showed above the suit. But that was as far as it went. That he was attracted was another matter. And more so when he mentioned the fact that he was her destined mate.

Where had he gotten that from? He’d given up on that ever since he’d seen the B for beta on the paper. Harboring hopes was useless, you don’t change from beta to omega or alpha just by wanting it, you were born and it was what it was.

He dried himself before dropping onto the bed. She turned off her cell phone, she didn’t want any interruptions, especially not from her boyfriend, she would talk to him tomorrow with a cool head. Dominic’s green eyes still haunted him every time he closed his eyelids.

He reached into the drawer of his bedside table for a bottle of pills and took his daily dose. His body relaxed instantly. The medicine worked wonders.
