I'm Not Yours, Alpha -
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 2
-It’s impossible,” several exclaimed at the same time, receiving a raised eyebrow from the alpha in response to the new proposal he had made.
Dominic was someone who was quick on his feet and had priorities on his feet. Right now, his mate was not one of them. Rather it was work and the meeting in front of him. So he had pulled himself together after the shock of meeting that strange young man and was moving on. Still he couldn’t help but look at him slyly.
-In that case I will just have to look for more competent people to develop the project,” he said seriously.
-Please, president, calm down,” one of the executives from the production area spoke in alarm. Almost everyone was entering a state of nervous breakdown.
If they only knew that he was the one who really had reason to go into crisis at that moment since he was in the same room as his destined partner and could come into heat at any moment and rape him right there in front of everyone…better not, not in front of everyone because he would be seen tearing their heads off for seeing him naked. But…
-I’m calm,” he said without further ado.
The man swallowed hard before answering again.
-What we meant is that it is impossible to do all the work of three months in only 15 days, there are many steps and concepts to fix and…”.
-Then I will look for qualified personnel- he answered again -You know how many people would be willing to take your place in exchange for more work- the beta to whom those words were directed clenched his fists under the table. He hated dealing with alphas, they were as arrogant as the sky itself- I said it and I repeat it, this concept you have proposed will not stand out in the market, many brands have opted for this trend I propose and the competition will be very tight this year and you cannot afford to lose sales-.
Although the man spoke like the almighty, he was right in what he said. They were broke, the previous boss had been spending money on one-night stands and they were short on budgets. There was no room for failure.
-I think we can do it,” Aidan gave his opinion after hearing his new boss’s approach and seeing the tormented expressions of his colleagues.
-That’s crazy,” the editorial manager he normally had serious problems with and who sat across from him protested, “Are you just trying to show off because we have a new manager and you want his favors? –
The young man’s face did not flinch and the others present only remained silent. It was well known of their quarrels and of Aidan’s not very soft words.
-We are in the same rank and I demand the same respect with which I address you,” he said in a neutral tone. The man could only swallow his tongue, again. Some even gave him up as a lost cause, that guy wouldn’t learn, many had implied that he liked the boy.
Aidan sighed and continued.
-“During the meeting I looked at the president’s new concept and although there are significant changes we can work on the basis of what is done.
Dominic straightened up in his seat. The young man had made his point. Too fast for his liking. It was a good one.
He explained to them the procedure by which they could work and speed up the project by staying within virtually the exact days that were required.
-Most of it falls on my department,” he concluded, “Don’t complain so much.
-How many designers are there? Dominic had not had time to investigate all the workers.
-Besides me, six.
-And with that small number, do you think you can do the whole changeover? In his father’s company, the design team had to have a minimum of 15 people.
-Don’t underestimate us, president. The previous owner was just as unpredictable and we got used to big changes in the last few hours. It just boils down to two words. Overtime, which of course, you’re going to pay for at the end of the month, we don’t work for free-.
Bold. thought Dominic.
-Really?” he questioned doubtfully.
-That’s something we can’t refute, President.” Dominic was annoyed that the man was butting into the conversation between him and his supposedly destined partner.
He had not yet responded to his presence.
He couldn’t smell his alpha’s scent, his face and body seemed calm, without any hint of reaction, though perhaps it wasn’t a good idea to have an omega in heat right there. He preferred to have it all to himself in the privacy of both his office and his room and him buried deep inside the slender body.
Perhaps three more hours passed when the young design director came out of the meeting and dropped the papers with a thud on the table in his apartment.
-Guys- his colleagues stopped what they were doing to attend to Aidan- Big changes, fifteen days deadline and an imperfect boss, let’s get to work it was said-.
Aidan kept the last document in front of the computer to continue organizing the folder and the materials he was going to change. He checked the time and it was already past 9 pm. He was hungry, had a headache and was tired. Something very customary to his routine.
He stretched his arms when an email arrived in the mailbox of his laptop. He opened it and to his surprise it was his beloved and adored new boss. The one he had caught staring at him more than once and in a slightly…incestuous way.
Yuck
He didn’t want to get the wrong idea but….
-And now what does this one want, it wasn’t enough for him to screw us with all the work today- he let out a sigh trying not to get upset.
He got up and headed for his office. Apparently they were the only ones in the whole building because not a soul could be heard and the other departments were dark. He stopped in front of the elevator without touching the button.
That didn’t smell right to him, and if he wanted to…He might be a well-dressed, relatively young man, that didn’t take away from the fact that he was a pervert inside. She didn’t know him well enough for her to think otherwise.
Just in case she checked in her pocket and found his house key and grabbed it. He had learned on a tv show that keys could be lethal weapons used in the right way. And given that it was a building, at night and they were alone, he kind of intended to get home…complete.
He knocked on the office door as he arrived and waited for an answer. He entered cautiously only to be paralyzed.
The pheromone laden atmosphere hit him making him recoil and stick to the snowy glass behind him like a prop. What the hell? For a beta like him to feel that meant only one thing, someone was in heat or was entering that phase.
He shifted his eyes from side to side and reached behind his back for the door handle but found himself so dizzy he couldn’t coordinate his fingers well. But there was something that made him stop breathing, when from the shadows of the darkened office someone began to approach him. It could only be one person.
His eyes greener than he remembered, his blond hair a bit long and tousled, without his neat jacket and the first two buttons of his white shirt open, showing his big, strong chest. Worst of all, she was looking at him as if he were delicious prey.
Aidan squeezed the key in his palm until it bled, to try to calm the fear he felt. His omega friend had told him that having an alpha in front of him made him melt. She’d give him a good one when she saw her because she was right. Yes, he was melting, but not from desire. He didn’t feel the same way about omegas. Hell. He wasn’t an omega.
That alpha seemed to want to mate and was releasing his pheromones left and right, looking to stimulate his prey, in this case him, although he hadn’t cited one small detail. Aidan was not aroused by an alpha’s pheromones even if he could sense them. A rare trait he had despite being declared a beta during his examination.
On the contrary, he touched his chest as it began to ache with shortness of breath and b***d pumping burning inside him. Her vision suddenly went black and her somewhat disturbed consciousness faded against her will.
Yes, there was a problem.
Something was wrong and his body had switched off.
Perhaps his boss wanted him to go into heat with all those pheromones. That was impossible. He couldn’t go into heat.
God, he was a f*****g beta.
What part of alpha didn’t he understand about that?
