In a Love Nest with the Aloof CEO -
Chapter 286
Sheldon answered with no hesitation. “Of course I am. She's the kindestand prettiest girl I've ever met. She has a heart for stray dogs and willcry whenever she sees any homeless animal on the street. Though shedoesn’t have a wealthy family, she’s diligent and ambitious.”
Skylar fell silent after hearing his reply. Alright, I'd better not meddle intheir relationship. Sheldon has every right to love Winnie, even though Idislike her.
“By the way, since she has a humble family background, will Mrs. Fordbe okay with it if you bring her home?” Skylar brought up the key issuein their relationship.
Her question killed two birds with one stone, even though she wasclose to giving up. Claudia's attitude means nothing to me, since I'mnot going to marry Tobias, so she and I will never be a family.
Tobias looked over his shoulder at Skylar. Resting her chin on herhands, she smiled at him. “Don’t worry, I'm not planning on anything.I'm simply curious about it.”
On the other hand, Sheldon was already imagining how things wouldbe like when his mother saw his girlfriend for the first time. Shaking hishead, he brushed those scary images in his mind aside.
Afterward, Tobias asked his brother to pull over by the road. Skylarcouldn't help but gulp at the sight of the taco food truck by theroadside.
There's nothing more enjoyable than having a beef taco when I'mstarving in the middle of the night.
Sheldon got out of the car after the couple and took a seat besideSkylar. As Tobias went to order their food, the woman reminded himthat she didn't want any cilantro in her taco.
“Are you close to Winnie? She's an innocent and straightforwardperson, so she’s still a kid and can be ignorant sometimes. Please takecare of her, alright?” Sheldon’s lips twitched up instinctively when hetalked about his girlfriend
Skylar remembered clearly about Tobias’ opinion of his brother. Tobiasdescribed Sheldon as all brawn and no brain, and he’s born half-witted. At that time, I felt that Tobias was being too harsh to judge hisown brother this way. Now I'm convinced that Tobias is right.Otherwise, how could he say that Winnie is still a kid when she’s twoyears elder than me?
Skylar said with a smile, “I'm no better than her. Perhaps you should askyour girlfriend to take care of me too.”
Sheldon chewed on her words. A few seconds later, he nodded inagreement. “You're right. You both should take care of each other.Winnie is really hardworking. I asked her why she put so much effortinto her work, only then I knew she did so to buy a new house for herparents. She and her parents are still living in a house smaller than twohundred square feet. I really want to help her, but she has been verylucky. If my brother hadn't cut me off financially, I would've bought anew house for her without a second thought.”
Skylar gave him a smile without uttering a word. I wish he will stay poorso that Winnie wouldn't be able to swindle a new house out of him. After that, their food was served. All three servings of tacos had cilantroin it, even though Skylar had reminded Tobias not to put any of it in hertaco. Once again, her words fell on deaf ears.
“I said no cilantro. This is what I hate eating the most. I remembertelling you twice about it,” Skylar complained.
“Don't be picky,” Tobias asked.
Having no other choice, Skylar picked the cilantro out of her taco pieceby piece, while Sheldon watched her with a sympathetic gaze.
My brother is indeed a male chauvinist. He's so accustomed to beingsuperior, that he rarely sees things from others perspectives. And thatmakes him headstrong and high-handed.
In the end, Skylar put hot sauce all over her taco, while the two menprefer having theirs just like that.
After dinner, Sheldon sent the couple home. Before leaving, he askedhis brother when the bar will be ready.
“Tomorrow,” Tobias replied briefly.
The second Skylar stepped through the door, the man pulled her intohis arms before they could change their clothes.
