Skylar pretended not to have heard as she packed the leftover boxesinto her bag. “Wasting food is a sin. Besides, no one has touched thefood before. So why can't I eat it?”

Tobias replied, “Suit yourself. Come home with me. I have something toask you.”

The moment they stepped out of the restaurant, they ran into Hannah.Underneath her thick glasses, her eyes were all red. It was obvious thatshe had just cried very hard given how swollen her face was.

Leaving Tobias, Skylar grabbed Hannah's arm and asked softly, “What'swrong? Your eyes are all swollen from crying. Wasn't everything finejust now? Who has bullied you? Did you bump into some hoodlums?Tell me.”

When Hannah saw that Tobias was there, she refused to tell Skylar whathappened. Instead, she took off her specs and wiped her tears.

She had just revealed to her boyfriend that she was Skylar's assistant.Previously, she lied to him because she wasn't confident of herself andher looks. Hence, she was worried that he would think less of her.However, her boyfriend told her that he needed to reevaluate theirrelationship. Furthermore, he finally understood why the pictures shehad sent him all looked like Skylar.

Just like a mute, Hannah didn’t respond no matter how much Skylarasked.

As Tobias entered the car first to wait for Skylar, Hannah quicklyfollowed them. From the moment she got in, she could no longercontrol her emotions and began to vent, telling Skylar that she was onthe verge of a breakup.

Hannah's cries at the back of the car irritated Tobias. Glancing at Skylarfrom the rearview mirror, he wondered if she would be bawling thesame way if both of them were to break up.

He had never reconciled after a breakup. However, Tobias figured that ifSkylar cried to this extent, he would likely waver if it wasn't over amatter of principle.

Skylar comforted her, “Is he worth you crying so much for? Men are allpigs. Why should we care so much about them? Don’t dwell on it somuch. After all, there is plenty of fish in the sea. If you're not happy,change your boyfriend. Most importantly, you should learn how to letgo.”

Feeling the sting from her words, Tobias plainly asked, “Are youcomforting her, or are you trying to get on my nerves? Tell me, if Imade you mad, would you change me off just like that?"

Skylar was stunned. Since when did he get so edgy? I didn't say I wastalking about him.

“Don't you have any sympathy? How can you feel annoyed given howhard she was crying?” Skylar grumbled after they had dropped Hannahoff. At the same time, she was rummaging through her bag.

Tobias furrowed his eyebrows at her as he wondered what she waslooking for.

The bag was in a mess. Despite how pretty and neat she looked, shewas essentially a messy person.

Tobias had heard that ladies nowadays behaved that way. All they caredabout was their appearance.

“Why should I have any sympathy? Isn't it just a breakup? Why doesshe need to cry so hard about it?” By the time Tobias stopped the car,Skylar had found what she was looking for: the house key.

The keypad lock on her door had been broken for a long time, and shehad forgotten to call the repairman. Also, it was Madelyn’s day off;hence, no one was there to get the door for them.

Before Madelyn left in the morning, Skylar caught her using her facialcream without her knowledge

Realizing that she had been caught red-handed, Madelyn made anawkward excuse that Skylar always came home late.

Therefore, having to wait up was detrimental to her skin. As a lady, shetoo needed to maintain her look with proper skincare.

After all, she was meeting her friends, and it would be bad for Skylar'sreputation if they saw her pale expression and assumed that she wasbadly treated by her employer.
