It's Love That Blinds Him
It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 19

Lucia screamed in shock. Holding a dagger, a woman rushed towards her frantically. The dagger gleamed as the rays of the setting sun struck its blade.

Lucia avoided the woman in a flash, but her arm was still inevitably cut. B***d immediately gushed from his wound. The cut was only superficial, but it was long and the opening looked shocking. The people around her screamed in fright. Luckily, someone in the crowd thought to call the police.

But the woman holding the dagger seemed unfazed by everything that was happening around her. She was focused on one thing. It was Lucia, his target. As Lucia dodged her, she started waving the dagger randomly at Lucia.

“Bitch! I’m going to kill you! ”, she roared in a hoarse and crazy voice. It seemed like no one could stop him.

When she got closer, only then did Lucia recognize her. It was Mina. In the past, Mina may have been crazy, but she wasn’t like that. Then, suddenly, the reports from over a week ago flooded Lucia’s mind.

“Malcolm, you are a real scourge. Since I met you, I have been the victim of incessant disasters. Now I’m even being chased by a crazy woman on the street,” she thought.

The Evans Group’s crazy move on Gomez Properties broke the latter’s capital chain. But of course, Lucia didn’t stupidly think that Malcolm was doing all this for her. Gomez Properties’ foundation in the country was quite strong. And Malcolm did nothing other than make an acquisition above all suspicion, claiming to avenge her. He let Gomez Properties disappear from the world and replaced it with the Evans Group brand.

Mina grew up in a wealthy family, and she was used to leading the life of a wealthy lady. Now that she has suddenly lost everything, it is no surprise that she has gone crazy. After all, from being a princess, she became one of those poor civilians she despised the most. Such a drastic change made him lose his mind. Not to mention that before, there were so many misunderstandings and grudges between Lucia and Mina. Thus, Lucia has the misfortune of being Mina’s target to vent her anger.

Those who tend to go to extremes are very likely to go crazy under pressure. And Mina was a good example of that.

At this moment, Lucia had no time to worry about the pain in her arm and the b***d that was constantly gushing out. She could only dodge the dagger that was coming towards her. When people go crazy, the potential they unleash is simply unparalleled.

Suddenly, a familiar figure mixed into the chaos and quickly subdued the crazy Mina. Then the usual sound of police sirens followed. The police quickly appeared on the scene. And, of course, a few annoying journalists who got excited at the sight of a bloody incident were also present.

“Malcolm…” Lucia called out weakly. In a way, she felt relieved when she saw Malcolm.

If dodging a dagger was a form of exercise, then she could say she had started a crazy exercise without any warm-up. Once she relaxed, she felt a little exhausted. It was only then that she felt the pain in her arm and noticed that b***d was still gushing from her wound. Due to excessive b***d loss, his lips became pale.

” Are you doing well? » There was a hint of nervousness in Malcolm’s voice, which was very rare.

“I’m really unlucky to have met you…” Before she could finish her words, Lucia had already fainted.

Medical personnel from the ambulance that had just arrived approached them. They wanted to take Lucia, but Malcolm refused. Malcolm picked up the unconscious Lucia and walked towards the ambulance. Then he placed her delicately on the stretcher as if she were a fragile treasure. After making sure she was lying comfortably and stable on the stretcher, he motioned for the medical staff to come forward.

At that point, the police handcuffed Mina and pushed her into the police car. She was still screaming like crazy. The dagger in her hand had already been taken from her. She writhed desperately, trying to free herself from the police’s grip. She looked towards the ambulance where Lucia was lying with deep hatred in her eyes.

“Mr. Evans, I’m sorry that such a thing happened to you in our jurisdiction,” a rather fat policeman said to Malcolm apologetically.

As he spoke, cold sweat ran down his forehead. The Evans Group was a company they couldn’t afford to offend in any case. Additionally, Malcolm and his alleged girlfriend were the people involved in tonight’s incident. For Lucia’s sake, Malcolm could even destroy Gomez Properties and make it a subsidiary of the Evans Group, not to mention he is just a simple police chief. He is afraid of being removed from office tomorrow.

“Pray that nothing bad happens to him.” Otherwise, I will demolish your police station. I don’t pay that much tax every year just for shitty cops like you. Don’t waste my money. How can you let such a crime happen on the street in the city center? » Malcolm’s voice sounded cold and merciless.

And that made the big policeman unable to respond. He just nodded. If he tried to argue with Malcolm now, he would probably die miserably. He felt so wronged, but he had nowhere to turn. After all, who could imagine that a well-dressed woman would suddenly commit a crime in the middle of the street? And who would know that the person she wanted to kill was Malcolm’s supposed girlfriend?

The fat policeman could only tell himself that he was so unlucky tonight.

“Mr. Evans… What do you think of tonight’s incident?” Why do you think Miss Gomez wanted to kill Miss Garcia? »

Some sharp-eyed journalists recognized that the author of the crime was Mina.

“Mr. Evans, can you tell us about your relationship with Miss Garcia?” »

“Mr. Evans, do you think this is some kind of revenge?” Do you think Miss Gomez wanted to kill Miss Garcia because she was unhappy with the acquisition? »

The number of journalists continued to grow. They sent people to wait outside the Evans Group building and Malcolm’s apartment, but they got no information. When things calmed down, such a dangerous and thrilling street attack took place. Of course, they all wanted to make headlines tomorrow.

“I’m sorry, but our CEO doesn’t accept interviews,” Bob said. As soon as he received Malcolm’s phone call, he rushed to the scene. And it came just in time to prevent journalists from asking questions. Malcolm then left with the ambulance. When the reporters saw Bob, they all turned their cameras and microphones on him.

“I’m sorry, but I have no comment to make at this time. If necessary, the Evans Group will hold a press conference. You are all invited to attend until then. » Every word that came out of Bob’s mouth was formal and impeccable.

But the journalists did not intend to give up. When they couldn’t get any response from him, they chased the ambulance to the hospital. Although they didn’t get to interview Malcolm, they at least had something to say about what was going on.

The attending physician was already waiting outside the emergency department when Lucia got out of the ambulance. He immediately gave him a first exam. After confirming that it was just trauma and excessive nervousness that caused him to faint, he pushed his stretcher inside the emergency treatment room. After her wound was treated and bandaged, she was sent to a first-class ward.

Malcolm joined Lucia’s room. She is lying on the bed, unconscious, with a fluid drip attached to the back of her hand. With one hand in his pants pocket, he observed her. His eyes darkened.

He despised everyone who touched his wife. Obviously some people still don’t understand this. And his mercy remained insignificant. Malcolm took his phone out of his pocket to make a call.

“Bob, make sure Mina stays in a mental hospital for the rest of her life. I want the result in three days. As for the other members of the Gomez family, it’s up to you what you want to do to them. » After these words, Malcolm hung up.

Just in time, Lucia moved on the bed. She was already relieved of the pain and she rested. She slowly opened her eyes. Everything around her was white, and the pungent smell of disinfectant entered her nostrils. Once her eyes adjusted to the light, she realized she was in the hospital. The dangerous scene that took place on the street just now gradually came back to his memory.

Lucia saw Malcolm standing by the bed. She couldn’t help but stand up angrily. She had just left the front pages of the newspapers. But she was going to make headlines again. She was already imagining what the headlines would be.

It could be labeled as a scourge. But in her eyes, this man who was in front of her right now was the real scourge. Lucia glared at Malcolm.

“You still have the strength to stare at me?” Looks like your injury isn’t that bad after all,” Malcolm said. He couldn’t help but chuckle when he saw her angry face.

Lucia was so furious that she couldn’t say a word. She tilted her head, not wanting to look at him anymore. She only turned around when the nurse came in with a bowl of porridge for her. But since her bandaged right arm was weak, she could only look at the porridge and sigh.

While smiling, Malcolm took the bowl from the nurse and walked towards Lucia. Lucia backed away defensively, but he didn’t take her seriously. Taking a spoonful of porridge, he blew on it and put it in front of his mouth, motioning for him to open his mouth. She was stunned for a moment. How could a privileged man feed her in person? Without moving for a long moment, she stared at the spoon full of porridge as if it were some terrible poison.

” For what? Aren’t you satisfied that my hands feed you? » Looking at the still Lucia, Malcolm raised his eyebrows.

Lucia seemed to have seen through his mind, she quickly opened her mouth to take the porridge. She feared he would feed her with his mouth. Malcolm looked at her. Then the corners of his mouth arched upwards, revealing his beautiful dimples as he smiled. He took another spoonful of porridge. This is how Lucia finished the bowl of porridge in a strange atmosphere.

The nurses who passed through the ward from time to time and saw the scene couldn’t help but envy Lucia. Seeing the nice Malcolm, they started to blush slightly.

“I want to leave,” Lucia said after eating. She looked at Malcolm.

“Okay, but you have to move into my apartment and live with me. » Malcolm did not refuse his request, but he made a condition in exchange. His tone sounded like a firm order, not a suggestion.

” No. It doesn’t suit me,” Lucia immediately declined.

“Then you will stay in the hospital until you recover.” » Judging by Malcolm’s tone, there was no room for negotiation.

“Malcolm, are you running out of women?” Why do you keep harassing me? asked Lucia helplessly. She really didn’t understand why Malcolm was doing this. Apparently she couldn’t escape.

Malcolm was about to say something when he was interrupted by the sudden ringing of his phone. He looked at the screen to see who was calling. Then he turned around and left the room. He took the call in the hallway. Watching his shrinking back, Lucia couldn’t help but be curious about who the caller was.
