“Winston Greer Suddenly Kneel After Divorce from Millie Caldwell: A Sign of Regret?”

Millie discovered that all the posts she came across were published by those paid media accounts, suggesting a premeditated smear campaign. It did have a negative impact on Winston’s reputation, but it wasn’t really intentional.

“Boss, to be completely honest, I didn’t expect that scumbag would actually kneel,” Marvin said, glancing at her.

Millie pursed her lips as she flicked through a series of photos, most of which captured Winston kneeling at the airport.

In one of the pictures, she caught a glimpse of herself, her expression icy and distant. Her eyes bore into Winston as though he were a mere stranger. She didn’t even want to show any hatred toward him. It seemed like Winston had been completely abandoned by her.

She silently turned off her phone and gazed out the window.

“I took my car for repairs yesterday and spotted Mr. Greer’s car,” Marvin said.

Since Millie remained silent, he continued, “His car’s windshield is completely shattered. According to the technician, it was shattered when Mr. Greer drove to the airport that day.”

Millie sighed in frustration, not wanting to hear anything about Winston. Marvin immediately noticed her reluctance and stopped talking.

She put her phone in her pocket, crossed her arms, and closed her eyes. Marvin drove quietly without saying anything else.

After returning home, Millie took a quick shower and got into bed. Just as she was about to fall asleep, a call came in from an anonymous number. “Hi, Ms. Cadlwell. I’m a reporter for Yerwick Daily, and I-

Millie hung up the phone. When the reporter called again, she promptly blocked the number.

Winston became a trending topic, and reporters were eager to interview her, the heroine. Her phone was flooded with text messages, all seeking a chance to speak with her.

Millie was utterly perplexed. She couldn’t fathom how these people had managed to discover her new phone number. She found it so annoying.

To stop the calls, she removed and destroyed the SIM card, making the phone number unavailable. As long as Winston remained a trending topic, the paparazzi would call her relentlessly.

Millie massaged her forehead, pulled the quilt over her face, and drifted off to sleep. In her dream, she witnessed Winston die while saving her.

She stared at the ceiling for a long time after waking up, thinking that it would be great if he truly died.

Millie yawned as she glanced at the clock, realizing it was already 2 am. She went dowristairs and prepared herself a plate of pasta. She felt utterly drained and listless, like an empty shell.

As Millie twirled the pasta on her fork, her gaze wandered into the distance. When she went to take a bite, only the fork remained in her mouth. With a sigh, Millie realized she had lost her concentration.

She took a moment to calm down and finished her pasta. Then, she poured a glass of wine and went to the window to look at the night view. The cold weather and the wind helped clear her mind.

She found it amusing when she thought about Joanna’s unapologetic expression. She felt satisfied to have slapped her a few times today and planned to do it again the next time they met.

From now on, they were complete enemies. She was determined to make sure Joanna never had a good life as long as she was alive.

Millie downed the wine in a single gulp. She gripped the glass tightly until her veins popped before relaxing her grip moments later.
