Let Me Go, Mr. Hill! -
Chapter 2858
Chapter 2858
"Hubby, you're finally willing to come home."
Charity suddenly heard Catherine's sour mocking in her ear.
Shaun walked in wearing a coat. His figure looked tall and straight in the night.
"Wifey, are you jealous?" Shaun bent over and hugged Catherine, who was sitting in a rattan chair. Happiness was etched all over his handsome brows. "How can I not come back with such a gorgeous wife here?"
Freya snickered on purpose. "You've been spending half a day by Chester's side every day, yet you still have the nerve to say that."
"That's because the situation is unique." Shaun nodded his head at Charity and her mom with a smile as he spoke. Then, he explained to his wife, "Chester has been here alone for months. He's quite pitiful. He doesn't have someone to talk to besides Ken."
"Alright. I was joking." Catherine squeezed the back of Shaun's hand. "You can go be with Chester if you want to. I saw Chester the day before yesterday. I think he has changed a lot."
"That's true."
Freya had gone there with Catherine, so she nodded in agreement. "For some reason, I used to hate and despise Chester a lot. But now, I think he's pretty pitiful."
Ryan chimed in too. "It's Christmas Eve tomorrow. Are his parents not coming to visit their son?"
"Why would they?" Catherine let out a tsked. "If it weren't for Hunter going mad, Chester's leg could've recovered."
"That's true, but that matter has long passed. Besides, even if Chester isn't on good terms with Hunter, he's still his mother's biological son. Does his mom not care about him too?" Ryan had lived in a perfect, harmonious family since he was young, so he could not understand how such cruel parents could exist.
Shaun shook his head. "Don't even mention her. Chester's mom did call a few times, but she would always blame him for helping someone else. Moreover, she's not in good health, she knows that her son is disabled and that she can no longer depend on him, so she only has her husband to rely on in the future. That's why she won't visit her son."
Freya nodded. "I even saw Cindy shopping with an extravagant middle-aged woman when I was shopping last time. That woman looked familiar and was buying quite some stuff for Cindy. She must've been Chester's
mom."
"She's insane, she isn't even concerned about her son but treats Cindy like her precious daughter."
Catherine's expression was filled with disdain.
She always thought there was something wrong with Chester's parents. As such, it was no wonder Chester treated people and handled matters so cold-heartedly in the past. Charity simply listened without saying a word.
On the other hand, the sympathy in Larissa's eyes grew deeper as she listened.
The next morning, Larissa asked Shaun when he was going to visit Chester as she planned to go there with charity.
Therefore, Shaun brought Larissa and Charity to the hospital after breakfast.
They arrived by car in less than ten minutes.
When Charity was about to get out of the car, Shaun suddenly passed her a small gift box. "I'm going to town to purchase some stuff. Can you please hand this over to Chester?" "An apple?" Charity remembered it was Christmas Eve.
Shaun nodded. "It's okay if it's inconvenient for you."
"I can do it." Charity accepted the apple.
When she turned around and walked toward the hospital with Larissa, Shaun took out his phone and sent a message to Chester. [ She's coming.]
In the ward, Chester quickly got up from the bed clumsily. "I should go practice walking."
"But you haven't had your breakfast." Ken was stunned.
Chester gave him a profound glance. "She's here." << >>
'Alright. Your desperate tricks can finally be put to use.'
Ken went off to pretend he was busy.
When Charity entered, she saw a young man in a white patient's attire practicing walking strenuously with a crutch on the field and one of the leg openings of his pants empty. The empty pant leg fluttered in the wind.
