Love Began with the First Meeting
Chapter 507 Back To The Villa (Part One)

Following the feeble and weak resistance, came the feebler and weaker compromise. All of this merely indicated how lowly they felt deep in their hearts.

"Brian, will you please allow me to see Mark?" Molly softly begged. The request was heartbreaking, enough to make Brian stop and turn around.

She stood not very far from him, her hands lifting her dress slightly, an indication that she hurriedly followed him out.

Her face anxious, Molly approached Brian, with her dress slightly hitched to her calves to keep the edges dry. Rain fell on the shed, its pitter-patter helping calm the surroundings. In the warm light, Molly's skin looked unusually fair. She halted three steps from Brian, compressed her lips and got ready to plead her case. "Mark is innocent. You can punish me, but Mark needs me. Won't you allow me to see my son for his sake?" she said piteously.

It's been a month since she last saw Mark and it broke her heart. Other than his photos that she looked at every day, there was no other way for Molly to assuage her longing for the boy.

Their situation was becoming too unbearable for Molly, and she was almost certain to go crazy if things went on this way.

"I'm sure you don't want Mark to grow up with an incomplete family, right?" Brian took a step forward as he asked the question.

Instinctively, Molly stepped back and with her voice suddenly turning raspy, asked, "What do you mean by that?" Communicating with Brian was always a challenge. Unlike most people, he was a man whose thoughts jumped from one idea to another without warning. Molly was sure the question was deliberate rather than random.

"You're willing to marry Spark, to give Mark a complete family, are you not?" Brian's tone was deep but chilly, making Molly's heart sink. "Mark needs a mother, and I'm willing to get married for his sake. And that's exactly the reason why I'm here." With one eyebrow raised, Brian added, "Haven't you figured that out? Or could it be that Eric hasn't told you what Mr. Song is planning?"

The words made Molly's eyes widen and her heart quiver. She recalled what Eric had said while Brian was dancing with Hannah, and it somehow indicated that Mr. Song wanted Brian and Hannah to be a couple. Without thinking Molly blurted out, "Brian, you can't marry her!"

The urgency and subtle anger in her voice somehow made Brian a little hopeful, but before he could enjoy the feeling, Molly's words quickly squelched this.

"Mark would not want any other woman to be his mother!" she grated her teeth in fury. "You can go get married to whomever you please, just return my son to me!" she snapped.

The hair on his temples slightly twitched, and Brian looked at Molly gloomily. Then he fixed sharp eyes on her and sneered, "You don't get it, do you? The reason I want to get married is to give Mark a complete family."

The woman stared at him, and his next words shocked Molly more. "I don't care who my wife is. You can even be one of the candidates, understand?" he said rudely.

Eyes mocking, Brian waited for a reaction from Molly and seeing none. He turned around to walk towards the parking lot. Shortly after, Tony said goodbye to Mr. Song and stepped outside, too. Seeing Molly, he was briefly struck dumb, then quickly nodded at her and followed Brian to the parking lot.

No one, not Molly nor Brian, was aware that someone standing in the dark had witnessed their exchange. The seemingly innocent but truly tempestuous scene between them was enough to make this person turn gloomy.

Fascinated by what she witnessed, Jenifer's eyes followed Molly as she walked outside. "I told you, Hannah," she whispered, "Mr. Brian Long has a crush on someone. Unless you get rid of that woman, you will never win his heart."

Glancing at Jenifer, Hannah sneered, "Get rid of her using the same methods you employed before? Jenifer, this woman is like a weed, because she was tough, and if you set fire to the weed, it would spread uncontrollably. Don't you have any other better idea?" Staring at Hannah, Jenifer could not help but raise a brow. Leisurely, she leaned slightly against a pillar and crossed her arms across her chest. Slowly, she told her friend, "I never heard you restraining yourself after living abroad for a few years."

"Of course I didn't!" Hannah gave a mischievous smile. "In fact, you have a jetton in your hands, too," she pointed out to Jenifer.

Lazily, Jenifer teased her seaweed-like curly hair while saying, "That's my shot in the locker. I won't cut off every means of retreat unless there is absolutely no other way. After all, I've tried so hard to fix my relationship with Edgar. Now, we get along fine. But..." She paused and glanced outside before adding, "I didn't expect all of us would end up in A City again." Hearing that, Hannah got somehow annoyed.

"It was your fault," she accused Jenifer. "If you weren't so anxious then, Brian would have no need to investigate you. And if that didn't happen, then you wouldn't be holding back now. Let's cooperate. You know that if we cooperate well, there will be nothing we can't handle.'

Jenifer's pretty face suddenly darkened. A couple of years ago, she had left the army to work for the local government. Because of what had happened four years ago, she was unable to realize her aspirations. So, how could she feel comfortable knowing Molly was living a good life?

Noticing the change in her friend's expression, Hannah figured out what was going on inside Jenifer's mind. Hannah was quick to warn her friend, "What's done is done, and there's nothing we can do about it. Now, it's time to plan our next move!"

She hoped Jenifer got the hint as the two of them went back to the party together while in the middle of a discussion. Another figure walked out of the shadows. Eric, who had overheard the two girls talking, mumbled, "Edgar..." The nasty smile that was always plastered on his lips slowly disappeared and his eyes turned gloomy and harsh.

As Brian's car headed towards the villa in A City in the middle of the bustling evening, the fine misty rain made neon lights outside the vehicle appear hazy from the inside.

After glancing at the side mirror, Tony looked at Brian through the rearview mirror and said, "Mr. Brian Long, Miss Xia..."

The driver paused until Brian looked up from his cellphone and trained his eyes on the outside mirror to look. He caught sight of a woman, her dress still hitched up, panting as she chased after his car in the rain. She appeared to be running with all her might to catch up with his car. Frowning slightly at the sight, a pitiful expression flashed in his eyes.

"Do I need to stop the car, sir?" Tony asked. He had slowed down but Molly still had a lot of running to do to catch up.

Looking at the side mirror, Brian gruffly ordered, "Throw her off!"

Peering at the rearview mirror again, Tony saw his boss was trying to keep his cool, although a hint of struggle was evident in his face. At the order, Tony's heart slightly sank. He stepped on the gas while glancing at Molly's running figure, which slowly disappeared from his view. 00000000000
