Love Began with the First Meeting
Chapter 646 At The Wrong Pace (Part Two)

To avoid seeing any emotion in Spark's eyes, Molly turned away from him abruptly. She passed by Brian without saying a word, and walked out of the grove.

Brian didn't move a muscle. He glowered at Spark, whose eyes were following Molly's footsteps. He didn't pay any attention to Brian. Spark stared at Molly's disappearing back for the longest time and finally turned to look at the man in front of him. He said, "I don't know what happened between you and Molly. But, Brian Long, if you're not capable of treating her any better than this, then I will take her back from you at any cost." Brian sneered at him and said in a menacing warning, "If you wish to die, I don't mind giving you a hand."

As he said those deadly words, a cold light flashed across his black eyes. Then he glared at Spark one last time, turned around and left.

Spark stood there, and let the strong wind blow away at his unruly short hair. His eyes were fixed on Brian's back until it disappeared from his sight. Clenching his hands into fists, he hit the tree trunk behind him and roared, "Aarghh!!" He sounded like a wild beast that was in immense pain. More white flowers fell down with a few leaves. The flowers were blown away by the merciless wind, leaving Spark with endless pain and loneliness.

Molly walked out of the park and saw the car which was parked outside the gate. Tony gracefully held the door open for her, as he waited beside the door. A mocking smile spread across her sad face. Then she walked towards him and got into the car without looking at him.

Brian followed close behind. He got to the car and sat in the driver's seat. He gave no explanation as he said to Tony in a cold voice, "You may leave."

Tony watched as the car rushed away in lightning speed. In the blink of an eye, the car sped up, disappearing from Tony's sight.

Brian looked ahead; his face was emotionless. He stepped on the gas pedal and the speedometer needle swiftly moved past one hundred kilometer per hour instantly. The commercially developed Kylin Street was a busy area and such high speeds were uncommon there. The other vehicles honked violently one after the other, as the drivers spew out curses at the speeding car.

Molly held her breath and looked ahead with her eyes wide open, as her hands grasped the handrail tightly. The neon lights and the people in the streets passed by in a blur. She could do nothing but grit her teeth, trying hard to restrain her instinctive fear of speed. But Brian wasn't paying any attention to her. He stepped on the gas further.

Molly closed her eyes in fear and gritted her teeth harder. But in spite of her restraint, her body trembled and her hands started shivering as a result of her fear of speed.

"Argh! Brian, stop it! Are you crazy?!" Molly roared and glared at his back.

There was an awful screech sound as Brian hit the brakes.

The sound of the emergency braking system and the screeching of the tires against the ground mixed together and made a horrible noise under the peaceful night sky. The car skidded for a few meters and finally came to a stop at the entrance of an abandoned road. Molly gasped for air, and her pupils were dilated. She couldn't get a hold of herself for quite some time. She looked at Brian, who was sitting in the driver's seat motionless and shouted, "You're sick!"

She opened the car door and angrily stormed out. She only took two steps when the front door was blasted open and her arm was grabbed abruptly. Then her whole body was pulled back towards the car.

She was about to get back up, but Brian pushed her against it again. She no longer tried to move, instead looked at his cold, demented face.

Brian didn't know what to feel as he gazed into Molly's eyes. Several different emotions in his heart burst out all at once. In the course of the past several days, he had tried very hard to fulfill his duties while simultaneously protecting her from danger. He had kept a close watch on everything, day and night. He had to stay away from her for her own good. If he had shown concern for her, her safety would have been compromised.

And today, he had put an end to everything. He had rushed back to the villa without even attending Eric's coronation, only to replace that she was not even home!

And after Becky's operation was done, he hadn't waited to see her. Molly had been sitting in the park all alone, or so he had thought. He had wanted to see her soon because he knew her so well. He knew that she liked being alone somewhere, immersed in her own world when she felt unhappy.

He had rushed to the park with so many expectations. And when he had finally found her, she was in Spark's embrace. His heart was broken into a million pieces when he witnessed that intimate scene between them.

Molly turned her face away from him. She didn't want to see him. Their relationship had been a mistake since the very beginning. She had no desire to continue that mistake.

"Mol..." Brian's low voice reached her, mixed in with the sound of the wind. It sounded like he was trying to restrain his emotions.

Molly turned her head back to look at Brian. With a tinge of sneer in her eyes, she asked slowly, "Didn't you say that you were going to take me home? What are we doing here? Trying to get blown away by the wind?" Looking around, she smirked and continued, "Mr. Brian Long really does have unique tastes. You choose such special places to feel the breeze."

Brian looked at Molly's cold face. He felt that she had changed, but he couldn't tell how or when. "Mol..." he called her name again softly, while trying hard to put a restraint on his overflowing emotions. He tried to erase the scene at the park from his mind. Now that all their problems were finally solved, he didn't want more obstacles between them any longer.

Hearing him call out her name again and again made Molly's heart beat faster. She could not help but laugh at herself because his caring side and his voice always struck her heart like a double edged knife - painful, yet unforgettable. "Bri," Molly raised her eyes and said slowly, "I'm tired. Can we go home now?"
