Love Began with the First Meeting
Chapter 676 Misty (Part Two)

"Mol," Spark felt his eyes becoming misty. He lowered his eyes and gritted his teeth and his mouth was quivering. He mumbled to himself, "I haven't peeked into my heart in a while. I'm not able to overcome the barrier in my heart. It is locked, while the key to it is in your hands. But you're only willing to do that for Brain. You're willing to unlock Brian's heart with the same key I gave you for mine."

As the wind blew slightly, the leaves danced along with it. Spark's words resounded in the quiet space.

He raised his hand slowly to place the violin between his shoulder and neck and placed the bow on a string. The birds and insects were startled at the harsh sound of the violin. He didn't stop playing. Bang!

A loud sound rung through the air as Spark broke one of his strings.

Spark closed his eyes. A single teardrop fell from his eye, across his cheek down to his chin and finally rested on his violin.

Molly walked along the street catching the attention of a handful of passers-by. Wearing a formal dress, she had nothing on her-no money, no cellphone.

She subconsciously started walking towards the direction of the villa. Her body throbbing from pain and her feet had swollen from wearing heels. But she kept walking, fighting through the pain. Beep! Beep!

A string of car horns blasted in front of Molly as a car pulled over next to her.

Molly turned to look at the car. The car window gradually lowered and Wing's face appeared.

"Molly, what are you doing here alone?" Wing hurriedly got off the car. She frowned slightly at how disheveled Molly was. "Get in the car, I'll give you a ride," she said.

Molly nodded. Weston was there too so they all drove back to the villa.

"By the way, a waiter found this and I took it because I know it's yours," Wing said as she handed a bag to Molly. Wing was very worried about her so she asked, "Molly, what happened? Where's Spark?" Molly stared at Wing as Wing just grew more worried. "Wing," Molly said, her eyes were turning red, "he's not playing anymore."

"Hmm?" It took a while for Wing to realize what Molly was talking about because she was caught up in her worry for Molly. She ran a gentle hand through Molly's hair and said, "Don't cry. Tell me, what happened? I'm sure we can still do something about it." "Spark's not playing anymore because he says he doesn't love it anymore..." Molly looked at Wing through her teary eyes, "Just now, he was standing there in front of me, acting as if he'd never touched a violin before!"

Now Wing finally understood what Molly was saying. She looked at Molly in disbelief and asked, "Are you saying his career is over ?"

Molly nodded. Weston looked at them from the rear view mirror and frowned.

Suddenly, the atmosphere in the car turned heavy. Wing was still shocked by the news and wasn't saying anything. In the past few days whenever Spark would say that he didn't feel like playing, Wing just got confused but now she finally understood what he meant. Spark's soul was made for playing. What did he mean he didn't feel like playing? He is his violin! It wasn't until then that Wing finally had an answer.

"Weston," she said.

"Hmm?"

"I'm going to ask Lisa to prepare a room for us. Let's stay at the villa tonight, okay?"

"Okay," Weston agreed. This news was groundbreaking to Wing and even more the entire music community. It was not out yet but once press got word of this, they would certainly start a frenzy.

When they arrived at the villa, they found that it was unusually dark. Except for the single night lamp in the yard, the whole villa was in total darkness.

Soon enough, Lisa had already prepared a guest room for Wing and Weston at the third floor. She said, "Miss Wing, Mr. Weston, your room is ready. Let me know if you need anything."

"Okay. Thank you, Lisa," Weston said with a nod.

Wing hugged Lisa and gave her a kiss on her cheek which made Lisa grin from ear to ear.

"Lisa," Wing loosened her grip on Lisa, "has Lucy told you when she's coming back?"

"No..." Lisa said a bit bitterly, "I haven't heard that much from her except for a few e-mails she sends once a week. She says she's busy studying. She met a professor in the art exhibition she just held and the professor wanted to hire her as an apprentice. I tried to tell her maybe it wasn't a good idea but she insisted. I'm afraid she won't ever get married." Wing couldn't help but laugh. Both Lisa and John were conservative and traditional. And they were also very kindhearted. They were willing to do anything for the people they cared about.

"Wing, maybe Lisa should be resting now, it's a bit late, after all," Weston reminded her.

"Hmm," Wing answered. She gave a second peck on Lisa's cheek and said, "Good night, Lisa."

"You'd better rest now too."

After Lisa left, Wing went to Molly's room. Molly was waiting for her. She was still in shock about the news from Spark. Somehow, she felt i I was her fault.

She told Wing about what had happened recently. Wing listened carefully with a slight frown on her face. It wasn't until later on that she raised her head and gazed into Molly's eyes, her own unreadable.

"Wing," Molly said nervously, "You know why, don't you?"

Wing sighed and said slowly, "Molly, anxiety can only ever be cured with emotional relief. In order to untie a bell, we need the person who tied it in the first place."

Molly frowned and looked at Wing, confused. She asked, "What do you mean?"

"I'm afraid..." Wing pressed her lips, "that you're the person who tied it."

"How could that be?" Molly was surprised. She knew that Spark loved her but what did that have anything to do with his music?

"The Summer Breeze came to be because of you," Wing said in a soft voice. "And as his first release after his one-year hiatus, A Mark of Summer was also for you..."

She didn't need to say more; she already got her point across. Wing figured that in light of his long hiatus, Spark should have faced a bottleneck. She also experienced this feeling when she just couldn't go anywhere let alone move forward. Either way, he was able to survive the bottleneck because of Molly and "Mark of Summer" definitely helped too. But now, he wasn't playing at all. It wasn't that he had lost his talent but rather he was just going through something heavy. Molly lowered her head at Wing's explanation and asked in a small voice, "Then, what can I do?"

"Love shouldn't ever be forced..." Wing said, shifting the topic all of a sudden. Molly raised her head to look at Wing in confusion. "No matter who you end up with, I still wish you all the best," Wing said. "Wing..."

"Molly, just listen to your heart!" Wing stroked Molly's hands softly. "Don't make things difficult for yourself." She wore a faint smile on her face "Either way, I still think whether Spark plays the violin or not is on you. While I do think that you really have to help him, I don't think you should lead him to believe anything else other than the truth." After saying that, she clapped Molly's hands and said, "Well, it's late. We should go to bed now!" Good night!"

"Good night!"

Wing left. Molly lay in the bath tub staring into the ceiling blankly. It was already past midnight. She didn't know how long she had been lying there. She hastily stood up, wiped herself dry, and walked out of the bathroom clad in a silk bathrobe.

Molly, even though she was already in bed, couldn't fall asleep. She was distracted by Brian's scent and something was seemingly tossing in her stomach.

She took one big gulp resisting the urge to vomit. Suddenly, Spark's voice and words rung through her mind. Her mind was so chaotic that she felt like it was going to explode any minute now.

She was so dizzy that she hadn't noticed she was already asleep because even in her dream, the same voice and words were just racing through her mind. By the end, all she could hear were groans and heavy sighing.

It was past two in the early morning when Brian came back. Somebody intentionally caused trouble at Grand Night Casino. It was a powerful person-someone that Jason couldn't handle just by himself.

Brian entered the villa exhausted. He glanced at the closed door upstairs blankly. His lips pressed into a straight line, and the skin between his eyebrows wrinkled. He was afraid. He was afraid that the woman he had really slept with in the evening was, in fact, Hannah. He was afraid that his promise to be faithful to Molly had been broken by him, which would give her a just cause to leave him. He was scared that he had broken his promise of faithfulness to Molly because if he had, that would be enough reason for her to leave him.
