Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 307: Where even the most delicate things can be overlooked
If there is no evidence, then there is nothing they can do with Agnes.
Rupert thought for a moment, then suggested, "Why don't we just confront her, she won't be able to carry it off with her mental state." "There's no need." Hector looked at Eloise, his eyes deep as dark pools, without a hint of light, "If she did it, there will naturally be proof." "That's true, but she's so cunning, I'm afraid the evidence will all be destroyed by her."
"A hundred secrets will make a difference." Hector said in a deep voice.
Rupert nodded, "That's fine, I'll send someone to keep an eye on her."
Having said that, he left.
Hector and Eloise, who had not yet woken up, were left in the ward.
He reached out and caressed her cheek with a heartfelt look in his eyes.
"Why can't you just take care of yourself?" He murmured softly.
He took her hand and put it to his mouth and kissed it lightly, then pressed it against his own cheek, the corners of his mouth curving up in a seemingly helpless smile, "It was you that night, wasn't it?"
He was on a business trip to City S that day and accidentally drank too much, so he stepped out of the box and found a place to sit, trying to wait for the alcohol to dissipate a bit before leaving.
But the next day he woke up in a hotel room.
He wasn't so drunk that he was unconscious and remembered what happened that night, except that when he woke up in the morning and was alone in the room, he assumed it was just a dream he had because he missed her so much. If it hadn't been for this incident that he learned she was over a month pregnant, he might still have been in the dark.
"You're so stupid, why didn't you tell me?" He was both heartbroken and helpless.
Although the child was gone, he was more distressed for her.
If she knew that the baby was lost because of this incident, she would be in a state of remorse and guilt again.
Hector thought thoughtfully for a moment, then kissed the back of her hand, "Eloise, I won't let any more harm come to you."
...
Eloise woke up the afternoon after the accident.
She opened her eyes and was met with a blanket of snow, which took her a few seconds to realise that she was in a hospital.
Memories slowly returned to her mind, and she remembered that she was almost molested by the kidnapper, and then she broke away from him to escape and accidentally fell down the stairs.
She tried to move her body.
Headache!
Her eyebrows knitted together and she raised her hand to her head, only to replace a ring of gauze.
How did you get hurt so badly?
She couldn't help but smile bitterly, and then let out a huge sigh of relief; it was a good thing she had fallen, or she would have let the man have his way.
My heart still palpitates when I think of that dangerous situation.
There was no one else in the ward but her.
It was a kind person who saved her, I think.
I also wonder if Ted and the others are anxious that he hasn't been home for so long.
What about mobile phones?
She looked and found it on the bedside table.
So, she tried to sit up from the bed.
Just then, the door to the ward was pushed in from outside.
As soon as Hector entered he saw her about to sit up and rushed up, "What are you going to do?"
Eloise was surprised to see him, "Hector."
Hector made her lie back, a pair of good-looking sword brows furrowed, "How can you move around?"
"I just wanted to get a phone." Eloise's eyes went to the phone on the bedside table.
Hector handed her the phone, "What do you need the phone for?"
"Called home in case they'd be worried." Eloise cupped the phone into her hand and smiled down at him, "But not now."
He was here, which meant that people at home should also know about her.
"Didn't you just go on a business trip this morning? How come you're back?" Eloise thought it was still yesterday.
"It's been a day, I was out of town yesterday."
Hector helped her adjust the speed of the drip and continued, "Can you tell me how it went wrong?"
"It's..."
"Grrrrr."
Eloise was about to say, when suddenly her stomach rumbled.
A faint blush drifted over her otherwise pale face and she looked at him with embarrassment, "I'm hungry and thirsty."
She hadn't eaten, let alone drunk any water, since the accident yesterday.
"I'll ask the family to cook some porridge and send it over."
As Hector poured the water, he took a straw and put it in the glass, then asked to drink from it.
She took a big gulp of water, then teased with a smile, "I've seen people have babies before and that's how they lie in bed drinking."
At the word 'child', Hector's eyes flickered, but Eloise didn't notice and said to herself, "I can actually sit up and drink."
"Want to sit up?" Hector asked softly.
"Hmm."
Hector helped her to sit up and put a pillow behind her back.
Eloise frowned, "Why does my stomach hurt a little?"
Hector abruptly squeezed his palm and then released it, raising his eyes to look at her, and indifferently spat a word out of his mouth. "Physiological."
"Huh?" Eloise froze, then reacted, her little face flushed red, "Hara... turns out to be physiological."
"Huh." She laughed dryly a few times.
It was so hard for him to have to say that.
"Does your head still hurt?" Hector asked.
"A little." Eloise frowned, "And a little dizzy."
"I'm sorry that I didn't take care of you."
Eloise saw his guilty face and couldn't help but be anxious, "It's not your fault, it's me who shouldn't have taken Agnes' word for it and come running to some hospital, otherwise it wouldn't have happened." "Agnes?" said Hector with a scowl, "She's the one who sent you to the hospital?"
"Yeah, she said..." Eloise hesitated, "she said she knew where the kid was, so I came to the hospital."
He already knew that she had given birth to a child, and there was no need to hide anything from him himself.
Rupert said that Agnes had denied that she had called Eloise to the hospital, and it was true that the woman was lying.
Seeing that he didn't look right, Eloise asked with concern, "Hector, what's wrong with you?"
Hector looked at her when he heard the voice and looked at her, "Eloise, you tell me what happened yesterday." "Good."
Eloise nodded, then told him everything about yesterday.
Hector was shocked to hear that, "Are you sure that man was the kidnapper who shot and wounded you that day?"
"Yes, that's him." Eloise didn't think it was the man either, "He just pretended to be a doctor and if he hadn't taken the mask off himself at the back I wouldn't have recognised it as him." "And did he hurt you anywhere?"
Hearing her say that the man had attempted to misbehave with her, Hector was furious and wanted to kill the man.
"He didn't get his way." Eloise can't help but shudder as she thinks back on the situation, "I don't know what would have happened if ... I hadn't fallen."
Seeing her palpitating and scared, Hector was distressed and rushed forward to hug her, softly reassuring her, "It's all right, it's all right."
