Chapter 10
Andrew sat in the car with a sour expression. The tension in the air was palpable. Madelyn cautiously held onto his arm. "Darling, what has made you upset this time?"
In her past life, she had no idea that Andrew threw tantrums this easily. Now that he commanded most of her attention, she felt that he would be randomly upset at any one of her actions.
He lowered his gaze. "Why did you go home?"
"Huh?"
"Didn't I the Miller residence alone?"

She fell into silence. Indeed, he had said something in that line.
When they were newly married, Caleb constantly pestered her to ask Andrew for projects. At first, Andrew would acquiesce, but Caleb grew more and more greedy in his requests. Feeling annoyed, Andrew ba

Caleb even complained that the Garcia family would have done so if Elena were the one who married Andrew. Not only that, he even tried to stir trouble for Madelyn.
"Do you care for your family so much?" Andrew's expression hardened in her silence. He had always thought the Garcias were mean to her.
The
Millers brought her home when she was barely one, and the Garcias never bothered to visit her. Any other family would have demanded to have their child back. Not even Madelyn's mom, Amelia, cared to visit Madelyn was jolted back to reality at his remark. Feeling suffocated by memories from her horrible past, she replied, "Yeah, I used to care a lot about them."
But she did not care for the Garcias anymore.
Andrew fixed a deep gaze on Madelyn. His anger subsided after he spotted the melancholy in her eyes. He pulled her into a hug with feelings of tenderness. "How about now?"
"I no longer care about them!" She shook her head. Ever since she divorced Andrew in her past life, she had figured a lot of things out. God had given her a second chance at life, and she wasn't going to repea Chapsr 10
She snuggled against his neck. "You're the only one I care about now."
Andrew was touched and speechless. The mood between them instantly lightened.
Madelyn, tired after having to put on a different persona since last night, drifted to sleep in his arms.
When they arrived at Serenity Villa, Rowan noticed that Andrew looked rather sick. He glared unhappily at Madelyn, who was resting in Andrew's arms.
Rowan was about to wake her up when Andrew motioned at him to keep quiet. Then, Andrew gestured at him to get out of the car.
Rowan took Andrew's orders despite feeling upset about Madelyn.
After a long time, the sky lightened. Madelyn groaned and felt sore in the neck. When she groggily opened her eyes, she was shocked to replace herself in Andrew's arms.
She held her breath nervously when she noticed he seemed rather pale. "Darling, why didn't you wake me up?" She sat up in a panic as she was worried she might press against his wound. Smiling, he looked at her tenderly. "Did you sleep well?"
"How could you mess around when you're injured?" She silently chided Rowan and the others for going along with Andrew. They should have been more attentive even if Andrew himself did not care. However, deep down, she knew how assertive Andrew could be. His subordinates wouldn't dare go against him.
"You're not bleeding again, are you?" Madelyn unbuttoned his shirt and was relieved to see the bandages clean.
Letting out a sigh, she offered, "What do you want for breakfast? I'll make it for you."
She had promised to make him lunch yesterday, but she was enraged at Easton and later Elena. She couldn't believe that her first day after being reborn was such a challenging one. Andrew kissed her hand. "Let the maids worry about that. I didn't
to make me meals."

A blush, spread
across her face. She had always found Andrew rather distant and aloof. Everyone around him felt suffocated and uneasy around him. She had never seen this side of him. Chap 10
Tilting her head, she questioned, "But didn't you often cook for me too?"
When she was a child, Andrew often brought her to Serenity Villa. As there were no maids around, he always made her food. For a 13-year-old, his cooking skills were
excellent.
To Madelyn, Andrew was nearly perfect except for his personality.
After her return to the Garcia family, he stopped making meals for her. Moreover, he became busier after taking over the Miller family's business.
At the mention of their past, he lovingly pinched her chubby cheek. "Hah! I thought I raised an ungrateful child. I really thought you forgot about it."
She assured him, "Of course, I remember those times. How could I forget?"
He hugged her tighter when he detected a hint of bitterness in her tone. "Tell me, what happened?"
For days, he had been questioning Madelyn's huge change. He scrutinized her behavior, but she did not seem to be faking it. Why the sudden change, though?
"Didn't I tell you? I made a mistake in trusting Elena. She kept lying to me and badmouthing you, and I believed in her words."
Since Andrew pressed on with his questions, she provided a detailed explanation. In her explanation, she pushed the blame to Elena, but technically, she wasn't far from
the truth.
Frowning, he asked, "What did she say about me?"
"Well, she claimed that many women died in your hands!"
When Madelyn sensed his growing hostility and the tension in his body, she instantly knew that he would not go easy on Elena.
To be fair, Elena had never made that particular accusation about Andrew, even though she did badmouth him. Still, Madelyn did not feel at all guilty for unfairly blaming Elena.
"And you believed in her words?" He playfully
smacked her on the head, causing her to hold her head with a pitiful expression. She had been trying to make trouble for Elena, but for some reason, she felt as though she had unknowingly victimized herself. Madelyn shut her eyes fearfully when he lifted her chin. She confessed, "I believed in you at first, but she kept brainwashing me. I slowly began to take her seriously."

To save her ass, she clutched onto his shirt, trying to sell the story of Elena being the villain. He saw through her thoughts and snorted. "What about now? Why don't you trust her anymore?"
"You've been so nice to me. I certainly know right from wrong. Of course, I won't continue falling for her nonsense," she replied with determination.
It was a pretty decent excuse. Not only did she blame everything on Elena, but she also complimented Andrew's kindness toward her.
In fact, her strategy worked like a charm on Andrew. When she mustered the courage to open her eyes, she found him smiling ear to ear. Feeling like she had been fooled, she complained, "Darling, you're bullying me."
Cupping her face, he gently rubbed his fingertips against her soft lips. "Oh, I have more ways to bully you. Wanna try?"
"No! I don't!" Filled with memories of a hostile Andrew, she shook her head furiously.
