Chapter 100
After Andrew gave David a few more instructions, he went upstairs.
He gently opened the door to the master bedroom. Seeing Madelyn sprawled out on the bed as she slept soundly, he sighed and removed his jacket.
He carefully tried to turn her over, but she groggily opened her eyes the moment she was touched. The sluggish look on her face resembled a sleepy, pouty kitten.
"Did I wake you?" Andrew asked softly.
Madelyn mumbled in response. Clearly, she was still fatigued.
"Don't sleep like that. It's not good for your heart. Be a good girl,
he crooned.
She obediently turned over. She had a habit of sleeping on her stomach with her head covered. Andrew had always chided her bad habit, but she would unconsciously revert to her old habit whenever he wasn
An indulgent smile spread across Andrew's face. He had plenty of questions for her, but he held back after seeing how sleepy she was. He turned around, and left for his study.
It was already 6:00 pm when Madelyn woke up. When Andrew came in again, he was greeted with a dazed Madelyn on the bed.
"Are you up?"
Aggrievement filled her eyes once she saw him. "Darling, I'm
starving."
"The food is ready now."
Madelyn wasn't aware of the time until she checked and finally realized that it was already dinner time. No wonder she was
famished.
Andrew went up to her and helped her get dressed. Then, he carried her downstairs. As they descended the stairs, she clung tightly to his neck, afraid that she might fall. Andrew dropped his gaze. "Don't you trust me?"
"It's not that!" Madelyn shook her head.
She was terrified of this gravity-defying feeling. Her instinctive fear stemmed from her previous life, where she fell off a cliff while holding Andrew.
At that moment, she felt like her mind had gone blank and her body had been shattered into pieces. But she couldn't even muster the might to look..
Losing the sense of gravity meant losing control of her body.
Andrew set her down on a dining chair. The dinner was Madelyn's favorite, duck confit. The rich flavor exploding on her taste buds after she took a bite was extremely satisfying. "I'm going to have three servings."
Andrew glanced at her, his gaze thick with affection. "You're a little glutton."

Madelyn flashed a sweet smile at him. Indeed, she still wasn't full after one serving. She handed her plate to the maid beside her and exclaimed, "Another serving, please!" Andrew arched his brows, and his gaze made her slightly embarrassed.
"Are you implying that I eat too much?"
"No. Being able to eat is a blessing," he answered with a smile.
She'd always loved to eat since she was young. Before she turned one, she had always been healthy.
But she suddenly had diarrhea for half a month when she turned one year old. During that time, Grace tired herself out from taking care of her..
She was finally discharged after half a month, but she completely changed. No longer the chubby baby she once was, she became thin and frail. She certainly looked pitiful.
It was also from that time onward that she never gained weight no matter how much she ate. And she ate a lot!
Indulging in her food, Madelyn muttered, "Why do I feel like you're making fun of me?"
ou're imagining things," Andrew bantered, his quip evident in
his tone.
She didn't bicker with him nonetheless.

Preparing duck confit was a very intricate process, so the
kitchen didn't make it every day. Thus, she would eat to her heart's content whenever this dish was laid out on the table.
