Chapter 99

Her family?

Hearing this, Madelyn chuckled darkly. Her indifferent laugh made Amelia uneasy on the other end of the line.

Before she came, Caleb had told her that it was compulsory to resolve the Garcia family's issue today.

The bank loans could no longer be delayed, and the postponed projects had to be relaunched. The losses their family bore were unimaginable.

Amelia didn't dare to react to Madelyn's mocking laugh. After some thought, she gritted out, "Can you please speak to Andrew and ask him to solve our family's problems? Your father promised to give you two Madelyn fell silent. Two percent of the company shares? They

certainly were generous.

Noting her silence, Amelia quickly added in a strained voice, Don't underestimate that two percent.

"You got married in a rush back then, and we didn't have time. to prepare any gifts for you. These shares will help you est sh yourself in the Miller family."

What a convenient excuse. Madelyn bet Amelia had never planned to give her any gifts at all. Or more accurately, Amelia had never regarded her as her daughter.

Now backed into a corner, offering these two percent shares. was probably agonizing enough for Caleb and Amelia.

Madelyn scoffed. "Do you believe your own hypocritical words?

"Why, you!"

Amelia's patience was at its limit. She had stooped so low, yet. Madelyn still refused to comply.

"It's not impossible for me to help the Garcias. I might even spare Elena."

"R-Really?"

Madelyn's sudden shift in her stance lifted Amelia's spirits. Deeply affected by Madelyn's words, she felt like she could not longer bear any more unpredictable changes.

But as long as Madelyn could convince Andrew to spare the Garcia family and Elena, she was willing to do anything.

"Transfer 20 percent of the shares which are currently under Elena to me. Also, it's about time for you to give me the shares Grandma left me, isn't it?"

The call was enveloped in silence again.

Amelia was momentarily stunned, and her hands holding onto her phone and the thermos were trembling.

Before she could lose her composure, Madelyn added, "I'll give you three days. If I'm not satisfied with your decision, Elena will just have to give birth in prison." She hung up promptly. Through the window, she saw Amelia hurling the thermos on the ground in a fit of rage. Her shrew- like attitude was truly revolting. Andrew hurried back to Serenity Villa after he handled all the issues at the company and called the Lopez brothers.

"Mr. Miller, you're back," David greeted.

"Is she still asleep?"

"Yes, Mrs. Miller hasn't come downstairs. Her mother came by in the afternoon, but she didn't see her," David stated, meticulously recounting what happened today. Hearing that Madelyn hadn't left the room, Andrew breathed a sigh of relief. His eyes glinted with menace when he heard that Amelia came to Serenity Villa again. "Tell the security at Serenity Villa that the Garcias aren't allowed to enter the outer security perimeter," he instructed coldly.

"Noted," David concurred with a nod.

They would keep pestering Madelyn if they could enter. Though it seemed inappropriate to exercise such orders on Andrew's mother-in-law, David knew it couldn't be helped after serving by his side for ages. No one in the Garcia family was worth respecting, after all.
