Chapter 105
Madelyn could even sense the longing and dependence in Beerie's eyes. Stroking its smooth coat, she asked Andrew," Have you come to visit her before?"
Andrew was taken aback. He shot a glare at Beerie and
suddenly said, "She's as heartless as you. Why should I come
to see her?"
He turned around and left, leaving Madelyn in a daze. She had no idea why he got mad again.
"Ignore him. I'll keep you company today, alright?" she mumbled to Beerie.
As if it could understand, Beerie snuggled closer to Madelyn. It kept nudging her, refusing to part with her.
The groom in charge of Beerie showed up, and he was surprised to see Madelyn.
"It's been a while since you visited," he began respectfully.
"Yes. Thank you so much for your effort."
Judging by Beerie's smooth coat, Madelyn could tell that the groom had done a great job taking care of it.
He had brought some pellets along with him. Beerie would usually go to him if he had food with him, but it didn't today.
As the groom tended to Beerie's food, he said, "She misses you a lot. She'd always gaze in the direction you left and wait
for you."
Madelyn froze. Disheartened, she hugged Beerie's head and crooned, "I'm so sorry for not coming to see you. I was such an asshole back then." Andrew was playing golf with Wilson not far away. Affection riddled his eyes as his gaze drifted toward Madelyn and Beerie.
Noticing his lack of focus, Wilson suddenly said despite his stern demeanor, "Go to her if you can't help it."
Andrew didn't respond. He merely withdrew his gaze. Seeing how bothered he was, Wilson was worried.
"Are you really going to let Easton return?"
Andrew nodded. "This mess has to end as soon as possible."
"Has it ever crossed your mind that she's still in love with him? Things will go downhill if she knows that he's in trouble."
Andrew paused, his eyes glinting coldly. He remained silent nonetheless.
Wilson rarely interfered with his relationship with Madelyn, but she was too extreme for him to turn a blind eye.
She had acted like she was willing to die for Easton, so the sudden change in her attitude toward Andrew was simply unconvincing.
Also, why did she show up at the warehouse that day? She did save Andrew, but who knew whether this was another scheme by Elijah? Elijah and Easton were two sides of the same coin, after all. It
wasn't surprising if Madelyn chose to work with Elijah.
Just as Wilson thought Andrew wasn't going to respond, he suddenly said, "No matter what happens, she's still my wife."
But Easton remained a thorn that had to be removed.
Seeing Andrew's resolve, Wilson refrained from saying anything more. He only reminded him, "Beware of Elijah."
Andrew hummed in acknowledgment.
They stopped talking about Madelyn, and Andrew shifted the topic swiftly.
"I heard you're getting engaged. Whose daughter is it?"
"The Jimenez family." Wilson didn't want to talk too much about his marriage arrangement. "Not everyone's marriage can be like yours and Madelyn's." Even commoners valued their future spouses' social status, let
alone the upper crust.
Ever since that person passed away, Wilson had distanced himself from other women. He had ignored his family's
pressure for years, so Andrew was surprised that he agreed to get engaged with the Jimenez family's daughter.
Madelyn had intended to spend the day with Berrie, but she suddenly received a call from Carrie.
Carrie yelled, "Oh my god, Maddie, I just hit someone! I-1-"
