Chapter 121
When Madelyn entered, the entire Garcia family was present. From the eldest sibling, Matthew's family, to youngest sibling, Caleb's family
The number of descendants was so large that Madelyn couldn't recognize them all. The only ones she knew we those from Caleb's family and Matthew's high-profile fam
Victoria saw Madelyn and affectionately waved her ove Maddie, you're back. Come here."
Madelyn couldn't help but frown seeing her display of affection.
"Aren't you going over?" Caleb snapped, glaring at her. H was mad at Madelyn, especially after she had Andrew dea with him. The more he looked at her, the harder it was to contain his anger.
Victoria intervened, trying to smooth things over. "What are you doing? Maddie's your daughter. She's now married, and you can't just treat her however you want." Mentioning her marriage only seethed Caleb further. Married daughters treated their families well even after they got married, while her daughter brought nothing but trouble.
Madelyn walked over to Victoria, who pulled her to sit beside her, though her other hand still held Krista's. It was
clear how highly she regarded Krista.
Seeing Madelyn remain silent, Victoria's tone grew more affectionate. "You ungrateful child, it's been you so long since you came to see me. Haven't you missed me?" "Grandma, you're so biased. Why didn't you ask when I came back?" Hazel Garcia, the youngest daughter of Madelyn's second uncle, spoke with a mocking tone.
Victoria didn't reply but shot a cold look at her daughter-in-law, Edith Collins, who glared at Hazel. "Stop talking!"
"Grandma is just biased. She wasn't like this with Madelyn
before. Now..."
"Enough!" Seeing Victoria's displeased face, Edith's
expression turned stern. Hazel reluctantly swallowed her words, though she gave Madelyn a hinting look.
Victoria's face was stern, but she patted Madelyn's hand reassuringly and continued in a loving tone, "Didn't Andrew come with you?"
"He has an important meeting to attend," Madelyn replied coolly.
In truth, Victoria had never looked at her with kindness during the years she returned to the Garcia family. There was a
a change only, after she married Andrew and brought potential benefits to the Garcia fany.
But after Madelyn divorced Andrew, Victoria publicly
declared that she was not a true descendant of the Garcia
family.
When Madelyn had conflicts with Elena, Victoria always sided with Elena. Madelyn knew exactly what her motives
were.
Now, seeing the change in the Miller family's attitude toward her, they too changed their stance. They undoubtedly had some ulterior motives.
Victoria felt uncomfortable with Madelyn's indifferent attitude but didn't show it. "Are you hungry?" she asked, turning to the waiting butler. "Tell the kitchen to serve dinner.
"Understood." The butler nodded and went to make
arrangements.
Angeline Noble noticed the slightly smug expression on Amelia's face. She spoke to Krista on purpose, "Krista, tell grandma about your years abroad. Have you met Beth?" Mentioning Bethany made Amelia's face change instantly. She glared at Angeline, thinking she was doing it on purpose.
Only Krista had managed to live a distinguished life abroad in the whole Garcia family.
Amelia had hoped to achieve the same by sending Bethany overseas, but she ended up disappearing without a trace. Edith sneered. "Everyone knows Beth is hard to control. If you bring her up, aren't you just "I'm not. I'm just concerned about Beth. After all, I've always asked Krista to look after Beth while she's abroad."
Hearing Bethany's name, Victoria's expression grew even more displeased as she looked at Caleb. "How much has Bethany spent abroad over the years?"
Amelia and Caleb both looked grim and remained silent.
Elena stepped forward and softly said, "Grandma, it wasn't much. Beth is very frugal."
