Luna Abigail -
Chapter 51: The End
My name is Maximillian, otherwise known as Jax. I have no count on how old I am, but I am old. Or in years lived I am old, but in mind and body I am only in my early twenties. Now, you probably wonder; how is that possible? And no, I am not a damn vampire.
I am the heir to the throne of demons and dark creatures, and my father is the King. We demons age like vampires, but slower, and yes, that is possible. We grow as children until we are about nine years, then our physical appearance stops for a couple of years. Then when we are thirteen, it starts again. We then age “normally” for a few years, until we reach the tender age of eighteen. Then everything is on a standby for a couple of hundreds of years. We only change maturity wise, or some of us do, anyway.
My birth mother was an affair with my father, who also mothered my twin siblings, Jasper and Jasmin. The woman who raised us was by all means our mother, too. She showed affection, caring, and interest. If you wonder why I didn’t include love, it is because my parents, birth mother not included, could never show love or feel it, for that matter.
I was raised to be the next demon King, to show no mercy or emotions and to kill anyone who could be a potential threat. But I am not, nor have I ever been, like my father.
When I didn’t include my birth mother, it is because she showed me and my siblings how to love and how to hide the love we have for each other. I decided early in age to be a different King than my father, but alas I am not King yet.
So, why did our father have us with another woman than the reigning Queen? Simple: she is barren and cannot have any children. Did she condone the idea of her husband having such a relationship with another woman? No, not at all. But she tolerated it when they needed an heir. With the twins, it was another matter. She was furious. Well, absolutely outraged is more like it.
She even threatened my birth mother with death, to which she answered if she wanted to kill the King’s children, then she could just go ahead, but how long would she live if she did that?
The King, Laurus, made a statement and decree that my birth mother, Melina, was not to be harmed even when the children were born. She was to be respected and treated as the mother to the future King and little siblings. They met this with anger amongst the Queen’s supporters. But it was not up for discussion, and for that reason, Melina was always around in my early childhood, but sadly not long after my eighteens birthday, she was killed by the hands of my father.
– Fire Mate of a Dragon –
Growing up as the only daughter of the King and Queen of two fractions may sound like living the dream? But it is actually a nightmare.
My name is Amber, and I am the daughter of King Matthew and Queen Abigail. I am a twin, and my brother’s name is Maze. We are as different as they come.
Maze is chaotic, hotheaded and short-tempered. He loves fiercely and protects his family at all costs. He has had the ability to shift since the day we were born, whereas I have the gift of fire. I am a fire elemental, which means I spend a lot of time on meditation and reading about and training control.
On our eighteen birthday, our parents sat us down and told us about a prophecy called The Destiny Children. We are going to be either the savior or the demise of the realm. Gee, no pressure at all. Maze got angry in two seconds flat and yelled at our parents. My mother responded by tying him to the chair with wind chains and covering his mouth. If he couldn’t keep quiet, she would.
It din’t help on his temper.
After that fiasco, they told us they had a visit when we were little by dragons, who claimed I was mated to one of theirs. I vaguely remember this, but it’s a bit blurry on the edges. After that, they looked at me for a reaction. The only thing they got was a stray tear down my cheek. Maze, however, as my twin felt the utter chaos inside me. How the hell were we supposed to save the realm? And how, HOW could I have a dragon for a mate, huh? I felt like screaming and kicking like a petulant child, but as my mother often reminded me; “you are the next witch Queen. Behave like it.”
“If that is all for now, I think we need to get back out to everyone who is waiting.” I say calmly. Maze eyes are bulging out of his head, but I know something he doesn’t. His mate is out there. I overheard my parents talking last night. I will handle the dragons and the war when that bridge comes. At that thought, the flaming chaos inside me subsides.
“Come on, brother. Stop acting the brat you really are.” I say teasingly, as my mother releases him from the wind chains.
“How are you this calm?” He asks in a whisper, and I only shake my head. Another time, dear brother, I think to myself.
At the party Maze stops dead in his tracks. He smells her, and I can’t be happier, but before they can claim each other Josephine, the pack slut, jumps at my brother and k****s him tongue deep. My eyes catch Mira Rose, who is crying silently. She turns and leaves.
I grab the hair of the slut, yanks her away from Maze who looks utterly confused and send her flying. The she-wolf lands on her flat a*s, seamin and cussing.
“What the f**k Josephine?!” I ask while staring at the angry woman. She scowls, and threathen me with all sorts of punishment when she is Luna of the pack.
I roll my eyes. Hell will freeze over before someone as utterly disgusting asnher becomes anything but a thorne in my side.
“Oh, would you shut ip already?!” I ask before turning to Maze. I will surely kick his a*s about this later, but now we need to get the rightful Luna back here.
“Where’s Mira? What happened?” Maze asks in a daze, before reality of the situation dawns on him.
“Go replace her and fix this!” I say as I smack him on the back of his head.
As he runs in the direction of his distraught mate, a shadow falls on the ground where the party is held. A large dragon lands right in front of me. Well, a least they didn’t waste any time.
