Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate -
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 15
Dinners Inn Motel, California
Elisabeth
I sat in the small motel kitchen, sipping on my coffee, lost in thoughts of the past. My job at the Motel would start at eight, the only decent job I’d found since Drake and I moved back to Cali a year ago.
When we left my pack ten years before, we headed to Mexico City, where no one would look for us. We married at the city hall, and Drake and I marked each other that night. I’d been madly in love with him since I was six when I met him for the first time, and Drake reciprocated my feelings when we were both teenagers.
I had no regrets about rejecting Blake, for Drake’s sake. I did feel the bond and the s*x. ual attraction when I realised Blake was my destined mate, but my love for Drake was more profound and stronger than the pull of my bond with Blake. So, when Drake pleaded with me to reject his brother and run away with him that night, I couldn’t resist, and after I rejected Blake, Drake and I eloped that same evening.
I had taken most of my mother’s expensive jewellery, enough for us to live on for more than five years. Drake had stolen all the money his father kept in his private safe and withdrew all the funds in his bank accounts, and the sum was equal to the value of my mother’s jewels.
In the seven years we were in Mexico; we spent Drake’s money and what I had gotten from selling my mother’s jewels carelessly. Blinded by the love Drake had shown me, I never said no to any of his demands. Drake was used to a wealthy lifestyle and didn’t want to be deprived of anything. His father, Alpha Elias, and Blake had ensured that he had everything growing up.
When I realised we were running low on funds, I told Drake that we should get jobs and save some more money. I never expected my husband to be so indifferent and say that I should be the one replaceing a job to support our family.
Being Alpha Elias’s son, he was not used to doing any work and was waiting for the appropriate time to make a specific move that would bring us money. When I asked what his thoughts were, I got a smirk from him but no reply.
So, I started working as a waitress at a restaurant near our home. The pay was not much, but we could at least afford our living expenses. Drake tried to help me by keeping the house clean and cooking for us on the nights I worked late and returned exhausted.
I was a good employee, and my boss decided to increase my hours and give me a promotion after two years of hard work. That meant more money but, at the same time, more exhaustion for me. I was a pampered young lady that had turned into an average working female with blisters on her fingers from carrying heavy trays and serving customers with a plastered smile on my face.
Drake paid no attention to my weariness and did nothing to help carry the load. He continued hanging around, doing nothing but cleaning the house and cooking for us until suddenly, he started locking himself in the extra bedroom, making personal phone calls.
I could sense that something was not right and demanded some answers. I believed that my husband was cheating on me.
“Baby, it’s nothing like that. I am in contact with one of my old friends back in California, and he told me that your sister ran away the night we left your packhouse and never returned. My brother caused an uproar when you rejected him and threatened to kill all of them. So, she disappeared, and since then, my brother has made your father’s life a living he.ll.”
What? Natalia left? And my father was all alone?
It was the first time I felt guilty because my actions had caused my family to suffer. I knew Blake would react that way, and I sensed it when he accepted my rejection. My mate’s angry, hurt voice rejecting me had sent a chill down my spine that night.
“Elie, are you even listening to me, sweetie? I said it might be a good idea for us to return to California. Your father is alone and will need an heir since Natalia is gone, and I can become the new Alpha of the Moon Howeler’s pack.”
I turned and faced my husband, shocked by his words. Did he genuinely believe we could go back just like that?
“Drake, are you nuts? As soon as we set foot in California, your brother will replace out and come after us. Haven’t you thought about that? I don’t care about being my father’s heir, and I don’t want to jeopardise our lives for a title.”
My broken voice and tears meant nothing to Drake. I could see how he looked at me; he didn’t reply. He was determined to try it, risking our lives without a second thought.
“Baby, trust me. Have I ever let you down? I have been waiting for this chance for a long time. Don’t worry. I have a good plan, and my friend is willing to help me implement it. I need you to resign from your job. Give them two weeks’ notice if you have to, no more. We will be leaving Mexico City by the end of the month.”
Drake’s voice was steady and hard. He had set his mind to achieving his new goal and taking my father’s position.
“Drake, how can you be so sure my father will accept us back and give his Alpha position to you? Have you forgotten that we are the sole reason for my father’s misfortune and my sister’s disappearance?”
“He will forget about it when we get rid of his troubles, baby cakes. Leave everything to me.”
And that was how I found myself working in the Dinners Inn Motel a year ago. Drake’s friend was a relative of the Motel’s owner; he had arranged for us to have a place to stay, and we would pay rent and for our food by working there-well, me working and Drake doing whatever he did to make his plans work.
I finished my coffee and washed my mug before heading to the dining room to set the tables and prepare for breakfast. The cook was about to start cooking for the guests. She was a sweet Chinese lady, married to a US soldier. She supported me from the beginning, and a good friendship blossomed.
I was happy to have someone I could talk to since Drake often disappeared for hours, days, and weeks. Whenever he returned, he said that he was a step closer to achieving his goal.
He never revealed his plans to me, though-I tried to ask him a few times, and he became so aggressive that I backed down and let it slide. I wasn’t afraid of him-I just didn’t want to fight. He was my only family.
He had called me a few days before, excited and happy that his plans were working, and he promised that I would be able to see my father again very soon.
I was utterly confused when I saw my husband barge into our room, banging the door behind him and cursing at his brother and his useless accomplices.
“Drake, honey, what’s wrong? What happened while you were out there? Please talk to me,” I begged my furious husband, shaking his arm.
“For f***s sake, Elie, would you shut up?” Drake roared at me and pushed me away, walking out of the room and leaving me frozen and dumbfounded.
Drake
“Fu.ck, fu.ck, fu.ck. How the hell did Blake replace our hiding place? That bas.tard ruined my plans. He fuc.king ruined my plans,” I inwardly cursed while running away in wolf form after Blake and his wolves had attacked us.
“We were lucky Blake did not spot us, Drake. We must plan our next move better before and forget about tomorrow’s attack. I will not jeopardise our lives, and surely I do not want to lose to Aries again,” my wolf, Gunner, replied authoritatively.
I could understand my wolf’s concerns. Aries won every battle between us ever since Blake and I got our wolves.

I was always second when it came to my brother. He was our father’s favourite son, and I could tell by how my father looked at him. I knew my father loved me as well, but my birth was an accident, as I’d heard one of the cleaners say.
From that day on, my love for my elder brother died. Because I had loved Blake, and loved him until I heard that woman speak. The next day she was found dead in her bed, and everyone assumed she died of natural causes, and only I knew I had taken her life by placing a pillow on her face and suffocating her until she breathed her last breath.
I started watching my brother’s actions more closely and always tried to suppress him or take whatever he wished for, whether it was a woman or anything else.
I knew my father was eager to mate my brother to one of the daughters of Alpha Ray Hunter, and I assumed that he aimed for the eldest one, Elisabeth.
I knew Elisabeth had a crush on me-I could tell by how she looked at me every time I visited their pack with my father and Blake. I, therefore, decided to court Elisabeth and made her fall for me-I never expected that I would fall for her as well. So, when she and Blake discovered they were mates, I convinced her to reject my brother the night before their mating ceremony and run away with me.
I was the happiest man on earth when she and I arrived in Mexico City. My Elie was sweet and gentle with me, and she never regretted her decision to stay by my side. She even started working to support us when we almost ran out of money. And I tried to keep the house clean and cook for us to make her more comfortable.
So, a plan formed in my mind when I called Ace after so long and found out about what had happened after we fled.
We were considered outcasts, rogues, and even traitors to our packs. There was no way they would accept us back just like that. But what if we forced our presence on them?
I asked Ace to help me locate the rogues that lived spread across California. My friend traded guns and silver with them, so getting me in was easy.
I told them who my brother was when we first met. They refused to cooperate for fear of Blake, but I convinced them when I promised to create a new pack that would include them all, giving them their lives back.
We started our army with a hundred rogues and ended up with an army of more than a thousand. And that’s when we started attacking small packs, taking over and holding the pack members hostage until their Alpha surrendered to us and gave up his position and the pack’s reins.
Our primary purpose was to attack Elie’s pack and make Alpha Ray accept us and surrender to me, making me his rightful heir. And then, the attack of the century-we would attack my brother’s pack, the Dark Moon Stone pack, and I would kill my brother and become the Alpha throne’s sole heir, proving my worth to my father.
But all that went down the drain when Blake attacked us first. And now I had to go back to the drawing board, which would take too much time, and I was running out of patience!
I had to replace my brother’s weakness and fight him with it. But what could it be? Blake Hunter was now a ruthless, arrogant and influential Alpha. What kind of weakness could that pri.ck have?
