My father and I were invited to Blake Hunter’s mating ceremony with his wife, Natalia.

I found it boring and didn’t want to go, but my father insisted we attend since I had requested an alliance with Blake and he accepted.

So, I found myself wandering around in the Dark Moon pack’s garden, waiting for Blake and his wife to show up.

I was surprised to see Alpha Ray White among the guests. And he was not alone. His brother, Beta James and his family, were present as well.

What were they doing there? I knew Blake was on bad terms with the Moon Howlers pack after Elisabeth and Drake eloped. What had changed after so many years?

The strange thing was that Alpha Ray left his brother’s company and went over to Blake’s father, who stood next to the ritual circle, having an intimate discussion with him as if nothing had happened between them.

Something was off. Drake’s father was not supposed to talk with Elisabeth’s dad, especially on such an important day for his son.

My attention was on the two older adults. I had to replace out what had happened between them and inform Drake. The new development might ruin his plans.

Blake finally appeared, holding his wife’s hand. I had to admit that she was a stunning beauty with those beautiful blue eyes and a perfect figure.

They greeted everyone on their way to the ritual circle. And that’s when I had the shock of my life!

One of the elders took the stand and said a few words about the couple.

Wait! What! Natalia White?

Was Natalia Alpha Ray’s younger daughter? Elisabeth’s sister? The one who had escaped Blake’s wrath ten years ago? How could that be?

I was in a state of panic and tried to hide it from my father’s prying eyes.

What the hell has happened around me? How did Blake end up married to Natalia White?

I had to inform Drake. The new development could make things difficult for my dear friend. How could he claim the Alpha position from his father-in-law? Alpha Ray would grant his Alpha position to Natalia.

I watched them as they proceeded with the mating ceremony and took their vows, and I wanted to throw up. Blake was serious when he addressed Natalia, and I realised that he would do anything to protect her from danger. It gave me the creeps.

Natalia would not be an easy target if Drake decided to eliminate his sister-in-law and claim the Alpha position from her.

“Things will not be easy, boy,” I told my wolf, and he growled in frustration.

“I told you we should not mess with that Hunter guy, Ace, but you never listen to me,” he replied coldly.

I was surprised to see Natalia looking my way, her eyes a dark blue. She only looked at me for a second, but if looks could kill, I would have been dead.

What was wrong with that woman? The day we met, I realised she was no fan of mine. Maybe she had memories of me teasing her for being overweight when we were younger?

Feeling uncomfortable, I moved from my position and walked to the end of the patio. I stood near a rose bush and watched the couple mark each other, completing the mating ceremony.

I swore under my breath and decided to tell my father we should leave, replaceing a good excuse. I left my spot, ready to look for my dad.

And that’s when I saw her.

Dressed in a white medical robe, she stood far from me, watching the ceremony, her eyes full of hatred, not leaving Natalia’s figure.

The young doctor must have been Blake’s pack member and a former s*x partner. I could tell how her eyes travelled to Blake lovingly and then back to Natalia, full of hatred.

My father and I were invited to Blake Hunter’s mating ceremony with his wife, Natalia.

Interesting, I thought and decided that I should meet with that young lady. She might be helpful to Drake’s plans.

Who was I kidding? Today, Drake’s plans had become mine when I realised the gain in the whole process. I would use Drake as a stepping stone and take over when the time was right.

Therefore, the beautiful doctor could be my way to replace out everything that happened in Blake’s pack.

It’s all or nothing, I thought, and walked to her. I stood by her side and watched her facial reactions from the corner of my eye.

“A loving couple, aren’t they?” I whispered to her, and she looked at me confused.

“Excuse me?’ she replied coldly and averted her eyes from me.

“Your Alpha and his Luna, they seem like a loving couple,” I repeated, and she walked away irritated.

Bingo! I just hit the jackpot!

A sinister smile appeared on my face and instantly disappeared. I had to take my role seriously. I needed the bi.tch on my side.

I followed her closely, and when no one was around, I whispered to her.

“Too bad they mated each other. My best friend is madly in love with Natalia, and I came here today to help him replace a way to claim his beloved back. I saw how you looked at Alpha Hunter and understood that the two of you were intimate before your Luna appeared.”

She moved uncomfortably and was about to leave. I had to hurry.

I placed my hand on her arm and stopped her.

She turned to me, eyes wide open.

“We can help each other, you know. I guarantee that no one should know about this except you and me. Please help me. My friend is miserable about losing his beloved woman to Blake. He needs Natalia by his side, or he will die of depression,” I lied.

“If he loved her that much, why didn’t he claim her before she married Blake?” she asked suspiciously.

Clever one, I thought.

“Natalia had no idea my friend felt that way. He was embarrassed to tell her, and when he saw her by Blake’s side at the Dark Moon pack, he fell into a deep depression. I am afraid he will harm himself,” I replied, sadness and despair in my voice.

My acting skills must have been pretty good because the doctor believed my words.

“But how can I trust you? I don’t even know who you are. What guarantee can you give me?”

I smiled.

“Well, what if I told you that if you decide to help me take Natalia away from Blake, I could present you with a potion that can make Blake fall for you and never let you go?”

That was tempting! It always worked on stupid females believing magic could solve all their issues.

I waited patiently until she processed my words.

And when she nodded in acceptance, I smiled, content with the new plan. I had just found my mole in Blake Hunter’s pack.

“I am Emma. What’s your name?” she asked.

Here we go!

“I am Drake. Drake Williams,” I replied, using Drake’s name for the disguise, and she smiled at me.

“Stupid female!”

I heard the news of Blake’s upcoming mating ceremony with Natalia at the surgical table, helping Tim operate on a wounded scout warrior.

When Tim told me the news, I dropped everything, and the nurses had to rush and get us new sterile operating equipment.

“Emma, what the hell is wrong with you? We can’t afford accidents like that,” Tim growled, and I lowered my head in embarrassment. I knew he was right.

“I am sorry, Tim. I was not expecting to hear something like that,” I whispered.

Tim exhaled and, frustrated, turned his attention to the patient and replied.

“Emma, you need to let go. Blake never made any promises to you and made his intentions clear from the beginning. Why don’t you forget about him and look for your mate?”

“Don’t you dare patronise me, Tim! You know damn well what I feel for Blake. It’s not that easy to let go.”

“Are you f*****g kidding me, Emma? Blake made his choice, and trust me when I say he is head over heels in love with Natalia. You stand no chance against our Luna; whatever you and Blake had is history to him.”

Timothy’s tone made me hate Natalia even more. I had watched her interact with Blake and the pack members daily, and everyone seemed to like her. What was so special about her?

She was a famous lawyer in Italy, but I was a great doctor in our pack. Why couldn’t Blake choose me over her? I was more attractive than her and knew how to please Blake in bed, whereas Natalia seemed prudent to me.

And now I was standing at the end of the patio, watching the man I love performing a mating ceremony with that bit.ch. And there was nothing I could do about it.

How I wished I had the power to stop this charade. That woman was no match for Blake. I couldn’t stand to watch anymore. All I wanted was to return to the hospital and lock myself in my office. I needed to be alone with my sorrow.

Deep in thought, I didn’t realise someone was standing next to me until the man spoke.

“A loving couple, aren’t they?” he whispered to me, and I wanted to throw a punch at his ugly face.

Why the f**k was he talking to me?

I tried to avoid him and moved further away. I didn’t feel like talking to a stranger at the moment, especially about Natalia and Blake.

Until he mentioned that he had figured out my relationship with Blake and that someone else, his friend, was in love with Natalia.

He had piqued my interest. Who was that someone, and why didn’t he say anything to Natalia before?

“If he loved her that much, why didn’t he claim her before she married Blake?” I asked, looking at him with suspicion.

“Natalia had no idea my friend felt that way. He was embarrassed to tell her, and when he saw her by Blake’s side at the Dark Moon pack, he fell into a deep depression. I am afraid he will harm himself,” the man replied, lowering his head, sadness in his voice.

So, when the stranger suggested that I should help him and his friend take Natalia back, I was tempted. Especially when he implied he could help me gain Blake’s love by using a magic potion that he would give me, all my doubts disappeared.

What did I have to lose, anyway? If we failed, my position would remain the same as it was.

I introduced myself to him, and he gave me his name, Drake Williams.

I would only give him the information he wanted. And if, by any vague chance, anyone found out and asked me, I would pretend that we were good friends with Drake, sharing some pack gossip. We would not harm anyone, since our plan would fail, and Natalia would stay beside Blake.

Right?

Having that in mind, I could smile again and decided to wait until the end of the ceremony and watch my beloved Blake enjoy the little time he had left with his bit.ch.

Alpha Blake Hunter would become MINE again sooner or later. That was a promise I made to myself.

Natalia, your days are numbered; I scowled inside my mind and grinned wickedly.

I turned to look at Drake; his smile was more horrifying than mine.

Who was he, and why was he looking at Blake and Natalia like that?

But then again, why would I care?

As long as I had Blake back, nothing mattered to me.
