Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 47

California

Ace Jones

I had been miserable since my plans failed. Although I thought I had found the solution to force Drake to take part in the planned attack on Blake Hunter’s pack, I still felt unsure if it would succeed without a cunning plan.

I had decided we should abduct Elisabeth while she was still pregnant. That would pressure Drake and force him to bend to my demands. The problem was that Elisabeth was always at their house, and Drake was always around her.

Having to organise the rogues did not leave me with enough time to plan Elisabeth’s kidnapping, and it frustrated me a lot.

Mat was not of great help. He could barely keep the rogues from breaking apart and disbanding the army we had. I had to think of something or replace someone who could think like me and make things easier for all of us.

I was in my downtown apartment, away from my pack and my father. Having a late-night drink, I had been trying to solve my problem when my phone rang, and an unknown number flashed on the screen. The number was from a foreign country.

Who would call me at that hour and what did he want with me?

I hesitated to pick up the call, but then answered. I was curious.

“Hello, who is this?” I asked and a hoarse female voice replied.

“I would like to speak to Mr Ace Jones, please.”

“Speaking,” I replied, waiting for the lady to proceed.

“What can I do for you?” I continued after she was quiet for a while.

“Mr Jones, you don’t know me, but we seem to have a common interest in harming certain people,” she replied, and that made me think it was a set-up.

“Who do you think you are lady, calling my house at this hour to bull.shit me?” I yelled and disconnected the call.

Not long after, a message popped up on my phone.

Mr Jones, you are right to suspect me, but I think you should listen to me first. You and Drake Hunter want to harm Blake, and I want to hurt one of Blake’s visitors. So, I think it’s best if we cooperate on that part. Unless you want me to reveal everything to Blake Hunter. I could easily do that, you know. If I live in Italy and have my ways to replace out all these things about you, imagine how capable I am and what good use I could be to you.

I will give you half an hour to think about it. Then, I will call Blake Hunter.

What the he.ll was that all about? Who was that woman? How could she replace out so many things about me? No one except Drake, the rogue team leaders, and I knew about my connection with the plan of destroying Blake and his pack.

Frustrated, I threw the glass I was holding at the living room wall and it smashed into tiny pieces. s**t! As if I didn’t have enough trouble as it was, then this.

“Talk to her Ace. Something is telling me she means every word. Maybe she will become the ally you were looking for,” my wolf urged me, and I complied.

I dialled her number and waited for her to answer.

“Have you decided, Mr Jones?” was the first thing she said, and I replied.

“Yes, but first I need to know how you found out all those things about me.”

“Mr Jones, I think it’s best if we meet face to face. How about getting on the next flight and travelling to California? I have to put my plan into action as soon as possible. I need to replace a certain person and deal with her before anyone else gets to her. So, are you willing to meet with me and discuss our future cooperation?” Her voice, void of any emotion, sent chills down my spine. The lady did indeed mean every word she said.

“I guess that’s the best thing, Miss…” I stopped, not knowing what to call her.

“Teresa, Mr Jones, but you could call me your saviour angel,” she said coldly and continued.

“Wait for my update. I will send you my flight details and you should arrange for transportation and a place for two people to stay, please. My friend is coming with me. Oh, and by the way, he was the one who dug up all the information about you and Drake, so he will be of good use to our plan,” she added, and hung up on me.

Holy crap! The lady was more vicious than I. I almost felt pity for the person she wanted to harm. With that thought in mind, I switched off the lights and went to bed.

I woke up the following morning and found a new message on my phone. Boy, the woman meant business. She had already sent me her flight details and the time of her arrival in the United States. She was due in two days.

I had to replace her a place to stay, but nothing came to my mind. I left it for when she arrived. She and her friend could stay at my apartment for a day or two. It was a three-bedroom apartment, anyway. Maybe after we talked, we could decide where she should stay for the rest of her time in California together. My wolf supported my decision. For a reason, he trusted Teresa’s intentions. The woman was wicked.

To make things clear, I replied to her message and informed her of my intentions. I didn’t want any misunderstandings between us. She replied with a thumbs-up message and that was it. I couldn’t help but grow an unintentional interest in the foreigner who barged into my life in a single night.

Since her last message, everything had been going smoother with my business. I felt relieved and handled my cases way better than before. I was even polite with my father these days.

I wanted to call Drake and provoke him somehow, but my wolf restrained me from doing so.

“If you want your plan to succeed, you must keep it quiet, Ace. Don’t allow Drake to suspect anything.” My wolf suggested, and I knew he was right. He was always more rational than me, and that saved my butt more than once.

I couldn’t wait to meet Teresa and her friend. I wanted to put my plan into action as soon as possible.

Two days passed, and I found myself at the airport waiting for Teresa and her friend to arrive, holding a board with her name on it.

Her flight was delayed, and it frustrated me to wait so long. There was nothing I could do.

With my back leaning on the wall, I was reading something on my phone when someone tapped my shoulder. I looked up and saw a beautiful woman looking at me intensely. Tall, with long dark hair and beautiful black eyes, the woman looked like a model. I stared without a word, and a cynical smile appeared on her face revealing a set of perfect white teeth.

“Mr Jones?” I would recognise that hoarse voice everywhere.

“Teresa?” I asked, and she smiled at me.

Turning her head the other way, she spoke in Italian.

“Mattia, vieni. L’ho trovato,” (Mattia, come. I have found him) she voiced. I didn’t know what she said exactly, but a scarred, well-built man appeared in front of me, standing next to Teresa like a bodyguard. He was uglier than me, which made me feel like a model for the first time in my life.

I was never a man of many words, so skipping the formalities, I led them to my car.

The drive to my apartment was silent. I suspected they were tired from the long flight.

“Humans have no strength,” my wolf said, and I sneered inside my mind, allowing them to sleep until we reached our destination.

I woke them up upon our arrival. We entered my house, and I suggested they rest for two more hours before we talked.

I needed to make dinner arrangements at my house. My guests were not to show their faces until we agreed on everything.

I called a restaurant and ordered a delivery for the evening. When Teresa and Mattia woke up, I set the table with the food and the desserts.

“Is it just me, or are you trying to impress the chick?” my wolf asked seriously. I couldn’t deny that I found Teresa attractive and wanted to make a good impression on her.

“Is there anything wrong with that? Who knows? We might get lucky with her. I love cunning women. I just want to know how cunning she is,” I replied, and my wolf laughed.

Teresa looked stunning in her tight jeans and t-shirt. She was an impressive woman who needed no makeup to be beautiful.

“So, Mr Jones, how about you give me some more information about you and the relationship you have with Blake Hunter’s brother? I know little about werewolves, but I can realise that it all comes down to being the strongest of your kind. Am I right?” Teresa played with her food while asking me.

“You sure don’t waste any time, Teresa,” I replied and put my fork down.

“And why do you want to harm Blake’s guest?” I asked back, and she smirked.

“I can see that we think alike, Mr Jones. That pleases me. Please be sure that I wouldn’t travel all the way from Italy to play dirty tricks. I am interested in making someone’s life as miserable as possible and Blake’s guest will be the way to do it. But I cannot approach her by myself. I need you to help me. And as I told you before, I will help you get what you want in return.” She had a stony expression and hatred in her eyes when she replied.

“And who is the lucky guy?” I asked and smiled proudly when the look in her eyes revealed her surprise.

“Come on, Teresa, you don’t think I am an i***t, do you? He must have done something to you and now you want to take it on his woman,” I stated, and she smiled again. Mattia was listening to our conversation without interfering. Did he know any English?

“I could tell you were cunning, but you have exceeded my expectations, Mr Jones,” she replied.

“You can call me Ace, Teresa,” I suggested and picked up my fork. I took a bite of my food, savoured the taste of it and continued.

“So? Will you tell me?”

I saw her hesitate for a moment and pushed her to the edge.

“Listen, Teresa. If we are going to work together, I want you to be honest with me. Otherwise, I won’t be able to help you.”

I stood up, ready to leave the table. She gripped my arm and signalled for me to sit down.

“She is my ex-fiancé’s girlfriend. I have a score to settle with him and his hideous father. They should pay for what they did to me a few years ago. She is pregnant and I will do anything possible to make her lose the baby or even better her life. That would make me happy,” she clarified, and I snickered. Yes, the woman was viscous enough for me to work with.

“What about you, Ace? Why do you hate Blake so much, and how is Drake involved? Remember, no lies between us.” She looked at me and I could tell she was not afraid of the fact that I was a werewolf.

“Drake eloped with Blake’s mate ten years ago. That split their family apart. Drake wanted to take over Blake’s pack and formed an alliance with me and a few hundred outcast werewolves to succeed in his goal. Ever since his wife got pregnant, he changed his mind and backed out of our plans. I want to force him to join us again because the outcast wolves won’t proceed with the attack unless Drake takes the lead,” I explained.

Teresa snickered and replied to me.

“And you want me to believe that you are doing this to help Drake get his brother’s position? I am not a fool, Ace.”

I laughed.

“Smart woman,” I said. “No, Drake is just the means to an end, Teresa. The moment Blake is defeated, Drake will die and I will take over. That was my plan from the very beginning,” I admitted.

“Have you thought about how you would pressure Drake to work with you again?” Teresa asked, finishing her dinner.

I offered her the dessert and replied.

“His wife is pregnant and is in bed because of pregnancy issues. My original thought was to kidnap her to make him agree, but I didn’t know how to approach the motel they were living in. Drake would become suspicious of me if he saw me near his house,” I voiced my concerns.

“I think I found where I should stay while I’m here, Ace. Book me a room at the same motel,” Teresa replied and then continued.

“To avoid suspicions, you keep Mattia with you until further notice. Leave the rest up to me,” she concluded, leaving me speechless at her decisiveness.

“Ace, I want to f**k that woman,” my wolf g*****d inside my head, getting horny at how easily Teresa found the solution to the problem that had been torturing me for days.

“Me too,” I replied and felt my shaft harden in my trousers, making me shift on my chair uncomfortably.

s**t! I cursed under my breath and noticed how Mattia looked at me.

“We need to be more careful. We cannot afford to lose Teresa now,” I told my wolf, and he agreed with me.

Mattia was way more clever and much more dangerous than I had first thought. He could ruin Teresa’s and my plans if I made the wrong move.

“He is easy to take down, Ace. We keep him until our mission is complete and then leave him to me,” my wolf said and I smiled satisfied.

Yes! Mattia was going to be a collateral loss in the end.

As if sensing my thoughts, Teresa looked at me and spoke.

“While Mattia is with you, nothing should happen to him. Or else you can k**s your plan goodbye, Ace Jones,” she said, locking eyes with me, and I nodded obediently.

Fuc.k. I wanted that woman for myself.
