Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 51

The Dinners Inn Motel, California

Teresa

I had just met Drake, Ace’s former partner. I recognised him from the photo Ace had shown me. He was working at the reception desk when I arrived at the motel and asked for a room. I watched him as he proceeded with the reservation and arranged my accommodation. He was a handsome man and standing behind the reservation desk took nothing away from his masculinity.

Pull yourself together, Teresa. You have no time for that kind of s**t. Time is running out, I reprimanded myself and turned my eyes away from him. Once he had arranged the booking, he gave me the key to my room and asked someone to help me with my luggage.

I followed the staff member to my room and when the door closed behind me, I texted Ace that I would put my plan into action. My first step would be to replace details of where Drake’s room was and his working hours. I had to make sure Drake was not around before arranging the kidnapping time.

I placed my things inside the room and left for the cafeteria. Passing reception, I noticed that an older lady had replaced Drake. I took a seat and ordered my breakfast. When the waitress arrived, I thanked her, smiling. She was a young girl in her twenties with a pretty face.

“Everyone in this place is good-looking,” I commented and she smiled, thanking me.

“Tell you the truth, I liked that handsome receptionist of yours. Is he single?” I asked her and she smiled again.

“No, Drake is happily married and expecting his first baby. His wife Elisabeth works for the inn as well.”

“Too bad for me,” I teased and the young girl nodded her head and left.

I finished my food and left for the reception, pretending to ask for tour information.

The old lady was friendly and after she gave me the information I’d requested, she continued.

“What brings you to California, dear? You are Italian, right? I mean your accent…”

“My boyfriend cheated on me and I left him,” I said, turning my back to her and wiping a ghost tear from my eyes. I turned back and smiled.

“And you came to California to avoid your boyfriend?” She looked at me suspiciously.

“My friend lives here, but she happened to be on a business trip when I arrived. She will be back in a couple of weeks. I decided to stick around and wait for her to come back,” I lied.

Leaving my key with her, I left the motel and took a walk. I had to make everything believable. It was a good thing to know my surroundings. I strolled for a few hours and, when I got tired, I decided to go back to the motel. It was lunchtime anyway.

I came across Drake helping his wife out of the car. He picked her up bridal style and tried to take her bag out of the car. That was my chance to get close to them. I rushed to their aid.

“Allow me to help,” I said and took the bag out of the car, giving it to his pregnant wife.

“Thank you.” She took the bag, smiling and I went into the motel. I deliberately took longer at reception, waiting for them to enter.

“Look who’s here,” the old lady said when Drake entered the motel holding his wife. I turned and saw Elisabeth smile at the old woman.

“How’s our baby doing, Ellie?” the woman asked.

“He is doing great, Tia. I don’t know if he will wait another three weeks, though. The doctor said I might give birth sooner.”

“Why don’t you eat at the cafeteria with us, Ellie? I missed you. Let’s have lunch together and then Drake can take you back to your room,” the older woman suggested and Elisabeth agreed after getting Drake’s permission.

“Only until you finish lunch, baby. You had a tiring day,” he pampered her and I snickered in my heart. Using his wife to force him to follow our plans was the best decision ever. Drake’s devotion to his wife was clear by the way he looked at her.

I followed the couple to the dining area and sat at a nearby table, eavesdropping on their conversation with the older woman. She was the motel owner.

She ordered their lunch and when the food came, she instructed the staff.

“Ask one of the cleaning staff to go to Drake and Elisabeth’s room to change the bedsheets and clean the room while they finish lunch. Drake is tired and he needs to rest with Ellie today.”

The moment I noticed a woman holding a dustpan and cleaning products in her hands leaving the kitchen area, I stood up and left the dining room. I followed her from a distance and noticed that she stopped outside a room near mine. Not sure if my assumption was correct, I went back into my room and waited by the door. Half an hour later, I heard people talking and, taking my bag, I pretended to leave my room. I locked the door and looked up. Drake, still carrying Elisabeth, came my way and entered the room the cleaner had been in.

Bingo, I thought and went back to the reception area.

“Yes, dear?” the motel owner asked when I stopped in front of her.

“I was wondering. Do you need an extra hand at the motel? For as long as I stay here, I want to keep myself occupied and make some money. I left Italy in a hurry and didn’t have enough money on me. I could help anywhere. Cleaning, serving, or the reception. The only thing I don’t do is cook,” I told the older woman.

“See what a rush decision does, dear? Let me think. I may need your help with cleaning and a few shifts at reception. I need to check my schedule and I will get back to you,” she replied. After thanking her, I went back to my room. I had to talk to Mattia. I didn’t trust Ace. That’s why I asked Mattia to pretend that he couldn’t speak English.

“Teresa, is everything all right?” Mattia’s worried voice came from the other side of the line.

“Yes, don’t worry about me. I will soon know Drake’s work schedule and arrange a big distraction here that would keep his attention. We need to get into action sooner than I estimated. Drake’s wife may give birth to the baby earlier. Is Ace with you?”

“No, he went out for a meeting,” Mattia replied.

“Is he treating you well? Did you hear anything suspicious?” I was worried.

“Yes, and no. He didn’t make any suspicious calls. Everything seems to be okay with him, Teresa. You should call him and inform him of your replaceings,” Mattia proposed.

“I will text him, Mattia. Talk to you later.”

I disconnected the call and went straight to bed. I had to rest my mind and think about how we could kidnap Elisabeth.

I woke up two hours later and thought I should check out the place. Before that, I opened the back door and stepped outside. And there it was! The solution I was looking for was in front of my eyes. The room’s backdoor led to an alley. I walked to the end of that road and noticed that it was parallel to the hotel. That meant we could move Elisabeth into a van from her room through the backyard.

Keep cool, Teresa. You need to make sure your plan will work before lighting the fireworks; I told myself and didn’t let my discovery affect me.

I sent Ace a message. “I think I found out how we can move Drake’s wife. I need to replace out how to get close to her, though.”

Not long after that, Ace called me.

“I knew you could do it, Teresa. You have been at the motel for a day and you’ve already found the solution. Well done,” he praised me and I replied.

“I don’t know what the other women you met were like, Ace, but when I set my mind on something I do it. And now, you must keep your part of our deal and replace a way for me to get close to Blake Hunter’s pack. I need to replace that woman,” I replied coldly and disconnected the call.

The Paradise pack, California

Ace Jones

Teresa hung up on me, not allowing me to talk to her anymore. That woman was all I ever wanted. Stubborn, strong-headed, cunning. It didn’t matter that she was a human. I liked her. I liked her a lot. And I wanted to please her.

I picked up the phone and called Emma. The phone rang for a long time and she didn’t reply. I sent her a threatening message. “Call me back or I swear I will call Blake Hunter.”

Ten minutes later, Emma called back.

“Hello?” Her voice was shaking.

“Didn’t I tell you to pick up the phone whenever I call you, bit.ch?” I growled.

“I am on duty and the head doctor was with me when you called. I had to replace an excuse to leave the ward to call you back,” she excused herself.

“What’s the deal with Blake’s wife and that friend of hers?” I asked.

“Who?” Emma asked.

“Don’t play dumb with me, Emma. Natalia has a visitor. A pregnant visitor,” I sneered.

“I don’t know, Ace. Blake forbade me from going near Natalia. I don’t see her. Whenever she shows up, I disappear,” Emma explained.

“I don’t give a f**k about Blake’s orders, Emma. I need to replace out about Natalia’s movements. And I want you to replace out about her friend. Anything that can be useful to me. And if they leave the pack, I want you to tell me right away.

“How am I supposed to do that, Ace? I already told you, Blake has his eyes on me. How am I going to get close to her?”

“I don’t give a damn how you do it, Emma. Just do it. And do it fast.” I ordered and hung up on her.

I knew that I had put pressure on the dumb doctor. And she was so afraid of me, she would surely obey my orders and do what I asked.

I called my Beta in my office.

“I want you to place one of our most trusted men near the borders of Blake Hunter’s pack. He must report the movements around the pack a few times a day, especially the movements of the Luna. Show him a photo of Natalia. Huh! One more thing. Natalia has a guest. A human female who is pregnant. I want him to let us know the moment he sees that woman leave the pack and follow her without being noticed. Is that clear?”

“Don’t worry Ace. I know just the person who can do that for us. I will go replace him right now and pass on your orders. Is there anything else you need from me?” my Beta asked.

“Yes. I want you to replace a van and take the number plates off. And have it ready for action the moment I tell you. You must be on alert twenty-four-seven. I will need your help.”

“What are we going to do with that van?” my Beta asked, unaware of my intentions.

“Kidnap Drake’s wife and hold her hostage” I replied.

“Sh.it, Ace. Are we really going to kidnap a pregnant woman?” He asked, confused.

He knew that if I had an option I would not harm Elisabeth. I’d had an awful experience with my father beating up my pregnant mother. She lost my baby brother before he was born. I hated my father for that and despite the ugliness of my character I didn’t want to hurt a pregnant woman.

Drake and Teresa were different cases though. For them, I would commit a crime I had sworn to my deceased mother I would never do. For different reasons, of course. The one I wanted to harm, the other I craved to make mine and mine only.

“If that’s what it takes for that a*****e to lead the rogues to attack Blake’s pack, then yes. We are really doing it,” I snickered.
