Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 72

Ace

The following day I woke up with a headache. I blamed the whisky and continued with my morning routine. There were many things I needed to check to ensure my plan worked. I gathered my men in my apartment office and we reviewed the details again. Everything had to be perfect.

“I need you in position three hours before. We should monitor the motel and its surroundings and make sure nobody sees us. You park the van at the motel’s back door and move our hostages there as quickly as possible. Make sure to use enough wolfsbane to put them to sleep to avoid any unfortunate mishaps. Is that clear?” I gave the orders and my men nodded in agreement.

Once I was alone, I called Teresa. She was about to go to work.

“Teresa, have everything ready and by nine tonight leave your room and come replace me in my car. I will send you the car’s plates. Do it quietly and without raising suspicion. Act naturally for the rest of the day. Is there anything you want to ask me? We’d better not talk to each other again today. If you need something, text me. I need you to pay attention to our future hostages this morning. If you see anything abnormal, please let me know.”

This had to work. Everything depended on tonight’s results. If I succeeded, I would become the strongest Alpha in my territory and with the rogues’ help everyone would submit to my power.

The anticipation of what was to follow had me on edge and I was grumpy all day long. My father tried to talk to me about pack matters and I snapped at him. Using our quarrel as an excuse, I left the pack and went back to my apartment.

Mattia was not at the house and I wondered where he went. I didn’t have time to deal with him, though. I had instructed my Beta to kill him as soon as we abducted the two women and I had Teresa with me.

As night fell, I felt more stressed. By the time I left the house, Mattia hadn’t come back yet. My Beta waited for me downstairs and we headed to the motel. We parked the car at the designated place and waited for my men to come with the van.

In the meantime, my Beta and I searched the area and ruled out the possibility of anything suspicious. I texted Teresa and informed her that I had parked outside.

When I saw the van arriving, the excitement of what was to follow brought a broad smile to my face.

Teresa

I got Ace’s call when I was ready to leave my room. He seemed stressed, making me more anxious than I already was. I listened to his instructions carefully, especially when he told me to pay attention to Natalia and Elisa. I didn’t know if I was strong enough to stay calm and not reveal my excitement about their upcoming misfortune.

My only worry was that Ace and his men might make a mistake that could cost us the mission. I texted Mattia and informed him of what Ace told me. Mattia replied that he had already left the house and prepared a plan to get me after the mission. He told me how he had slowly poisoned Ace and bent his resistance. If needed, Ace could not force himself on me while I tried to escape with Mattia. He would be too weak to do so.

I left my room and headed to the dining room. I needed to check if Natalia and Elisa were there. They were having breakfast and chatting happily. That bit.ch, Massimo’s girlfriend even smiled at me and asked me how I was doing in our language. It took a lot of effort to act naturally and reply politely, hiding my real emotions.

I went to the reception desk and spent the rest of my day there, always checking if Natalia and Elisa had left their room and headed out of the motel. I was worried that they might check out and leave for Natalia’s pack. That would be a disaster for Ace and me.

When I saw them appear for dinner, I relaxed. I knew that they would be staying another night. Anticipating my departure from that goddamn place, I got off work and went back to my room. I took a shower and waited for the time to come.

I had packed my things in rubbish bags, ready to take them with me. I would pretend that I would throw them away if anyone saw me. As the time neared, I checked the backyard anxiously and stepped outside. I left the spare key to Natalia’s back door under a flower pot for Ace’s men and headed to where Ace had parked the car.

“You came,” he smiled at me in the rearview mirror. His smile was genuine and it surprised me. Was he really that happy to see me?

“Hello, Ace. Yes, I am here. So, are we staying here until midnight?” I brushed away a strand of hair that fell into my face.

“Yes, when they bring both women to the van, we will lead the way to the warehouse,” Ace was blunt.

“Elisa is mine. You can do whatever you want with Blake’s wife, but you will not touch Elisa. I will deal with her.” I had no reason to hide my hatred for that bit.ch.

Ace gave me a wide smile and nodded.

At midnight, both Ace’s men left the van and entered the back door of the motel. And now we waited.

I could tell that Ace was communicating with them because his eyes were a scary yellow. Half an hour later, the men came rushing to the van, carrying the sleeping Elisa and Natalia. It surprised me how easily they jumped into the van, still holding them in their arms.

“Holy s**t! They have excellent reflexes,” Ace whistled and then boasted.

“I guess I’m doing a good job as their Alpha. Don’t you think, Teresa?”

I gave him a half smile and watched as his men entered the van ready to follow us. Ace’s man who was behind the wheel started the engine and we headed to the warehouse.

Natalia

Elisa and I went to the dining room for breakfast as usual. We couldn’t give any sign that we had figured out Teresa’s and Ace’s plan. When we saw Teresa in the dining room, Elisa asked her how she was doing. She acted so naturally and I saw surprise in Teresa’s eyes. She hid it well, though and replied politely.

We went back to our room and informed Drake and Massimo of Teresa’s behaviour. We were all anxious about the upcoming attack. I was afraid for Elisa and her baby. She seemed strong but I didn’t know if she could handle the whole thing. Werewolves fighting werewolves and a crazy Teresa trying to harm her.

“Baby, are you okay?” Blake’s voice made me jump.

“Blake?”

“I felt your uneasiness, sweetie. Nat, I don’t want you to worry about anything. I have it all covered. I won’t allow anything to happen to you and Elisa, my love. You must trust me and believe in Massimo and Drake’s abilities. My brother might be an a*s but he is good. For him to have led the rogues for so long, he must be pretty good, sweetheart. I will follow you all the way to that warehouse. And I will be the first person you see when you leave that van. I promise,” Blake’s hoarse voice brought tears to my eyes.

“I miss you, Blake.”

“I miss you too, sweetie. And I love you more than words can say. I lost you once. I won’t lose you again. That’s a promise.” My mate’s words were like a balm to my heart.

“I love you too, babe.”

With that, I closed the mind-link and stood by the window, looking out and trying to figure out where Blake was. Him being so close made me feel safe and confident.

At dinner time, Elisa and I showed up in the dining room again. We wanted to give Teresa the impression that we were going to stay at the motel. And we did. I could tell how relieved Teresa was when she saw us. I could sense that her insecurities of that morning had vanished. And her eyes had a spark of hatred she couldn’t hide from my penetrating gaze. She could fool anyone but me. My senses were on high alert around that slut.

I felt so sorry for Fabrizio who had such a cruel daughter. The thought of punishing her the way she deserved upset me for no other reason than Fabrizio who would be devastated despite his decision to support us and not his daughter.

Back in our room, we waited for Blake’s instructions. He would tell us when it was safe for Elisa and me to move to Drake’s apartment and wait for Drake and Massimo to take Ace’s men down before coming out of that room.

The four of us took position by the windows and it did not surprise us to see Teresa leaving her room holding two rubbish bags and disappearing into the alley.

“Natalia, now! Take Elisa and move next door. Keep the lights off and don’t make any noise. And stay the fu.ck away from the windows,” Blake used the link provided by Luna Alison this time.

Did he see us watching Teresa leave from where he was?

Elisa and I followed Drake next door. We entered the apartment and locked ourselves in the bedroom. We had to prevent Ace’s men from scenting us.

Blake

I was wired and far from sleepy. I was used to sleepless nights and I wasn’t affected. I had been standing at the window watching every movement around the motel. Thanks to Luna Alison, I knew exactly when Ace and his men left for the motel. So when I saw him park in that alley, I notified Natalia and the others through the link.

“Ace has arrived. Soon, Teresa will leave the motel. Stay alert until I notify you it’s safe to move next door to Drake’s apartment. The van has arrived just now. Massimo, Drake, wait for my signal.”

I tried to keep my voice steady and void of any emotion. Only I knew how terrified I felt deep inside. The possibility that something might go wrong made my head spin and my heart flutter in my chest. My insides were tied up in knots that threatened to leave me breathless and paralysed. I fought my fears thanks to my wolf’s support.

“Blake, nothing will go wrong. You have me, remember? As long as I am by your side nothing will go wrong. We have been through worse situations than this, Blake and we survived. I will not allow anyone to harm our mate or Elisa. Don’t worry. Just stay calm and breathe slowly.”

Arie’s firm voice brought me back to my senses. My wolf was right. I should not lose my confidence. Our plan would work.

“You also have me to support you, Blake. I will not allow Ace or that woman to hurt Natalia and her friend.” Luna Alison’s soothing voice came from a different link, a private one. I could tell the difference.

“I can also read minds and hear your links with your wolf, Blake,” she comforted me and I felt positive again.

I watched Teresa leave the motel and enter Ace’s car. At the same time, I mind-linked Natalia who had been standing by the window watching Teresa leave.

“Natalia, now! Take Elisa and move next door. Keep the lights off and don’t make any noise. And stay the fu.ck away from the windows,” I growled.

I watched them move next door and waited for Ace’s men to leave the van.

At midnight, I mind-linked Drake and Massimo.

“They are coming! Hide in the second bedroom and be ready for them!”
