Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate -
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 73
Massimo
If anyone ever told me there would be a day when I’d be petrified about one of my mission’s outcomes, I would laugh in his face. We waited for Blake’s instructions and when I looked at Elisa chatting with Natalia holding her swollen bump, my hands trembled and I almost spilled the water I had been drinking.
I turned my back to them and tried to hide my unease. I prayed everything would go as planned and my woman and Natalia would come out of the whole thing unharmed.
When Blake told us to take Natalia and Elisa next door, I held my mate in my arms and after I escorted her to that room, I kissed her tenderly.
“I won’t allow anyone to hurt you or our baby, sweetie,” I whispered, holding her in my arms.
Elisa hugged me back, giving me a reassuring smile and telling me I had better go next door.
Teresa was crazy and I feared she might have something else planned besides the abduction with Ace’s help. And then I remembered. Trying to stay as calm as possible, I texted Blake. I didn’t want Natalia to hear my thoughts in the link Luna Alison had offered us.
“Blake, we have forgotten about Teresa’s guardian, Mattia. What if he and Teresa have a backup plan when they realise their mission failed? We haven’t thought about him and he is Teresa’s muscle. He seems to be very efficient and dangerous.”
I pressed the send button just as Blake informed us that Ace’s men were coming and I didn’t get a reply from him.
“Don’t worry Massimo. I heard your thought and I will tell Blake without involving Natalia in the link,” Luna Alison’s voice startled me but I had no time to wonder how she found out what my thoughts were.
Drake and I moved to the other bedroom and waited with the lights off. We had already placed pillows on the bed and covered them with the bed’s sheets in the shape of sleeping figures. We positioned ourselves behind the closed door and waited for them to enter the room.
The sound of cautious footsteps in the living room put us on high alert.
“Let’s wait for them to enter and move towards the bed before we attack,” I mind-linked Drake and he nodded.
The door opened carefully and two bulky figures entered the room silently. Taking each side of the bed they approached carefully. As soon as they raised their hands holding the injections with the wolfsbane, Drake and I attacked them from behind.
They tried to fight their way out but they were no match for Drake and me. We couldn’t afford to make any more noise or leave any evidence behind. So, instead of using the wolfsbane they held to drug our women, we snapped their necks and they fell lifelessly to the floor.
“Two down. They are dead. We will change into their outfits and move to the girls’ room. Get ready to follow us, Blake.” Drake used the mind-link to contact his brother. Drake seemed to be seeking his brother’s approval.
“Excellent, Drake. Don’t forget to wear the scumbags’ masks and hats. We can’t afford for Ace to realise you are not his men,” Blake remarked.
“Massimo, don’t worry about Mattia. I will think of something on our way to the warehouse and let you know,” Blake addressed me.
“Mattia? s**t!” Natalia sounded upset.
“Baby, stop thinking about him. I will handle everything. Keep your mind on our mission and don’t tell Elisa anything,” Blake coaxed Natalia.
“When we are gone, send your men to get the dead bodies out of the room,” Drake told his brother.
“Don’t worry, my men are outside. They are waiting for you and Ace to leave and then they will handle the rest,” Blake assured us.
We changed our clothes and placed the wolfsbane in our pockets. It could be useful later.
We moved next door carefully. Natalia, who knew we had succeeded, waited for us at the door. The moment we entered, Elisa came over and hugged me, tears running down her face.
“Hey, baby. You need to stay strong. We are almost there. I need you to be calm. We can’t afford for Ace to notice that his men did not drug you. We are acting, remember?”
“Yes, Massimo. I will be okay in a minute,” she replied, smiling at me.
“Okay. Drake, you get Natalia and I will get Elisa. We have to move. If we delay any longer, Ace might get suspicious,” I told Drake and he agreed.
“You need to trust us,” he told both women. “Pretend to be sleeping and lay still in our arms. A single movement on your side will destroy our plan,” he explained.
“Don’t worry Drake. We can do it,” Natalia replied and Elisa nodded, smiling.
I picked my woman up in my arms and I felt her rapid heartbeat. Placing a k**s on her forehead, I looked into her eyes and she got my message.
“I will be fine,” she whispered and I nodded.
“This might be awkward Natalia, so please cooperate with me,” Drake said as he put his arms around Natalia’s body.
“Take good care of her, Drake.” Blake chipped in and Natalia gave us a bright smile.
“He will, baby. Don’t worry,” she replied for Drake.
“They parked the van near the back entrance. It’s white with no number plates. Ace parked on the opposite side in a black sedan. You need to act quickly and leave. Too much delay might cause suspicions. I will follow you as soon as you start driving,” Blake informed us.
Holding Elisa, I stepped outside and Drake followed. We were cautious not to be seen by anyone. I found the van and headed there. I opened the back door and jumped into the van, placing Elisa on the bed carefully. She opened her eyes and I smiled at her. Drake came after me and placed Natalia on the other bed.
“Is everything all right?” A stranger’s voice sounded in my ears.
“It’s Ace.” Drake mouthed to me and replied through the link:
“Yes, Alpha. We will tie them to the beds and get the van on the road.”
“Hurry! We don’t know if anyone saw you and we can’t risk being reported,” Ace growled.
“Yes, Alpha,” Drake replied, and after making sure the girls were comfortable on the beds, we stepped outside and Drake took the driver’s seat.
We watched as Ace’s car drove away, leading the way to our destination. From a distance, I saw another car following us.
“Blake, are you the one behind us?” I asked.
“Yes, keep driving and don’t worry,” Blake responded through the link.
We reached the city outskirts and Ace parked the car outside the warehouse. He opened the doors for us and we drove the van inside.
“Now what?” Drake mind-linked Blake.
“We are outside. I have Lucas and two more men with me. Dylan is coming with Luna Alison. We might need her healing powers. They will be here in a minute. Have you counted how many men Ace has in the warehouse? Whatever happens, don’t get the girls out of the car,” Blake instructed.
“It’s just us, Ace and his Beta inside the warehouse. Four men are standing guard outside,” Drake replied.
“Good. Don’t take your masks off. Not yet,” Blake advised us.
We left the car and waited for Ace to approach with our heads lowered.
“Good job, boys. Are the prisoners still unconscious?” Ace came closer and I sized him up. He was a short ugly guy who was nothing special. He seemed like an average Alpha to me.
“Yes, Alpha,” Drake coughed while replying to prevent Ace from recognising him.
“Good. Let’s keep them in the car until they wake up then. You two stay close to the car. I need to make a phone call,” he laughed wickedly and picked up his phone.
“Ace, where are they?” a living ghost appeared in front of me. Teresa showed up, dressed in a pair of jeans and sneakers. I checked her out from the corner of my eye. She was still the same.
I tried hard to control my urge to attack her and take her life. That bi.tch. wanted to harm Elisa and my child. And for what? She was the one to blame for our break up back then.
“In the back of the van,” Ace’s voice interrupted my thoughts.
“I want to see them and wipe that stupid smile off that slut’s face,” Teresa said and I wanted to punch her face sending her flying to the other side of the warehouse.
“Let’s wait for them to wake up, Teresa. We have plenty of time,” Ace replied, taking his phone in his hand again.
“Hello? Ace?” Blake’s voice sounded on the other side of the line.
“Hello Blake,” Ace replied.
“What can I do for you?” Blake asked calmly and I admired his acting skills.
“Well, unless you want your wife and child to die, you must do what I tell you, and give your pack to me,” Ace cut to the chase.
“What the hell are you talking about, Ace?” Blake roared on the phone.
“I have your wife, Blake. She is my hostage. Now be a good boy and follow my instructions, or you will never see her again,” Ace growled.
“Stop the car and wait for my call,” he instructed Blake and ended the call.
“Are you going to release Natalia, Ace? I mean if Blake agrees to do what you ask him,” Teresa asked, checking her nails and not looking up.
“Have you lost your mind, Teresa? They are all going to die tonight. I just want him to suffer a little before killing him,” Ace replied.
“I will bring him here and torture him in front of his wife. And when he is unable to resist, I will kill his wife and child before ending his life,” he revealed his evil intentions.
“Hey, you two,” he turned to Drake and me.
“Take the hostages out of the van and place them there.” He pointed to a corner with his finger. “Put them on the ground. We won’t need the beds.”
Drake and I exchanged glances and entered the car. We motioned Elisa and Natalia to stay quiet and pretend to be sleeping and carried them out of the van, placing them on the ground as Ace instructed.
I watched as Teresa walked towards Elisa and realised she intended to kick her belly. There was no way I would allow that to happen.
I stood guard in front of my mate, ready to pounce on Teresa the moment she tried to kick Elisa. I couldn’t care less if I ruined the mission by revealing myself sooner than planned.
“Teresa, you get back here right now,” Ace stopped her just in time. She turned to him.
“Why? I want to kick her goddamn belly. Let’s see how Massimo feels when he loses his child,” she screamed.
“Wait until Blake comes. I don’t want to miss the fun of seeing him suffer,” Ace growled and Teresa jumped in fright.
I balled my hands into fists, trying to control my anger.
“Fu.ck, Blake, where are you? I won’t last long,” I growled.
“It seems everyone is waiting for me to arrive,” Blake’s voice boomed inside the warehouse.
Blake
Ace turned to face me and he paled.
“How? How did you know where I was?” e seemed lost for a minute.
“Guards! Where the hell have you been? How did he get in here?” he shouted.
“They seemed busy to me,” I replied, watching Lucas and my men carrying the guards’ dead bodies inside.
When Lucas and I arrived outside the warehouse it was a piece of cake for us to take Ace’s men down. They weren’t paying any attention to the road and we caught them off guard.
“Snapping their necks seemed like a good plan to me as well, Massimo,” I turned to my partner, giving him and my brother the signal to reveal themselves.
Drake and I took our masks and hats off and both Ace and Teresa screamed in unison.
“Drake?”
“Massimo?”
“Hello b***h. Long time no see,” Massimo snarled and she took two steps closer to Ace.
“Ace, what the hell are they doing here? How did they replace out?” She lost her temper and started screaming, fear evident in her eyes.
“It takes a brain to figure that out and you both lost yours on the way here,” I sneered and looked in my wife’s direction. Natalia was helping Elisa up.
Ace’s Beta tried to get close to the girls and hurt them but Drake pounced on him and they started fighting. Ace’s Beta was strong but Drake was much stronger.
“You are lucky I don’t want to scare a pregnant human woman, so I won’t shift to my wolf,” Drake growled and broke his neck in a single movement. Ace’s Beta collapsed on the ground.
“We made a habit of using the same method, bro,” I commented and winked at Drake who smiled at me.
I didn’t foresee Teresa’s sudden move. She bent down and grabbed a crowbar from the floor rushing towards Elisa and my wife.
“Massimo,” I called and he looked back. He rushed to Teresa but before he could grip her arm, I heard a gunshot. Teresa dropped the crowbar and cried out in pain, holding her wounded arm.
We all looked over to where the gunshot came from and saw Fabrizio standing at the entrance, a gun smoking in his hands.
“Fabrizio?” Massimo and I whispered, whereas Teresa held her wounded arm and spoke in a trembling voice.
“Dad?”
“I am dead to you, Teresa. For so many years you faked your death and now that you came back to life I am dead to you,” Fabrizio wiped the tears from his face, still holding the gun in his hands.
Teresa stood there watching her father with eyes wide open and her hand dripping b***d. She seemed lost and her head moved from left to right, looking for Ace.
In the uproar, I spotted Ace trying to escape. I launched at him and punched him, sending him flying to the other side of the warehouse. Ace got up, wiping the b***d from his face and tried to shift into his wolf. I watched as his eyes turned yellow but his wolf did not appear.
Ace seemed confused. He had lost his power to shift. I approached him with a vicious smile and my fists ready to hit him again and I growled.
“It’s a pity you can’t shift. I know that they have poisoned you with wolfsbane and silver for the past few days. I wanted my wolf to tear you to shreds and leave your dead body for the vultures, but it seems I am going to kill you in your human form. This is no fun at all.” I punched him and once more he flew a few meters away.
Standing on his feet, Ace attempted to fight back. He was stupid enough to think that he could win.
I parried his attack and threw a left hook, smashing his jaw. While his head was dropping, I sent him flying again with a right uppercut.
He lay on the floor trying to gather the strength to get up. I walked to him and picked him up, pinning him to the wall, my hands around his neck.
“No one dares to mess with my woman, Ace. Not you, not Emma, not anyone. Is that clear? That was the biggest mistake of your life and you will pay for it today,” I roared. With that, I locked eyes with him and twisted his neck in a single move breaking his spine and then watched his lifeless body fall to the ground.
I turned to look at the others and I saw Teresa bleeding a few meters away from Elisa and Natalia. Massimo approached her and his intentions were clear.
“Get the hell away from her or I’ll shoot.” I looked where the voice came and a scarred man held Fabrizio hostage, pointing a gun at him.
“Mattia!” Teresa cried and tried to go to him but a growl from Massimo had her frozen in place.
“Fabrizio!” Natalia and Elisa took two steps forward.
“Natalia don’t you dare!”
“ Elisa don’t move!”
Massimo and I barked simultaneously and they looked at us with their eyes full of tears.
“I have this, baby don’t worry,” I mind-linked my wife.
Mattia stepped forward, pointing his gun towards Natalia and Elisa and using Fabrizio as a human shield, he approached Teresa, Her wound was severe and she had lost a lot of b***d.
“Come to me, Teresa. Don’t be afraid. If they move, I will shoot their women,” he told her in a caring voice.
“Shoot them now, Mattia. I don’t care if I die after that. I can’t stand the thought of that slut giving birth to Massimo’s baby. His father was the reason I lost mine and deprived me of having any more children. If you love me, kill them now,’ Teresa cried and her eyes were full of tears.
“Teresa?” Mattia seemed lost.
“Shoot them or you will never see me again. Even if we escape, I will disappear from your life and you will never see me again. Mattia.” Teresa was hysterical.
Mattia seemed lost but he still raised his gun and pointed it at Elisa. Fabrizio found the opportunity when Mattia turned his attention to our women and escaped. He then rushed to his daughter and gripping her in his arms, he used her as a shield to protect Elisa just as Mattia squeezed the trigger.
Mattia’s bullet found Teresa’s body and she fell, half-dead, in her father’s arms.
Massimo rushed to hold Elisa who was about to lose consciousness, and I half-shifted and pounced on Mattia. He looked at me with terror as I sank my canines into his neck, biting his carotid artery and ending his life.
I shifted back to my human form and along with Natalia, we approached Fabrizio who held a dying Teresa in his hands, crying like a baby.
“Why?” Teresa choked on her b***d.
“You have already ruined your life, Teresa. I could not let you harm innocent people to satisfy your crazy needs. And I could not bear to watch anyone else take your life away. I didn’t mean to harm you like that. I wanted to give you to the police so they could punish you for your crimes. But you, my child, insisted up to the last minute to kill Elisa and her baby. I could never let that happen,” Fabrizio cried, caressing Teresa’s pale face.
“Dad?” Teresa coughed and b***d left her mouth.
“Rest, my child. I will pray to God to forgive you for your sins and keep you safe up there until we meet again,” Fabrizio cried and with bloodied fingers, he closed his dead daughter’s eyes.
