Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 76

Blake

I watched as Natalia’s father clutched his chest and his brother, Jake, helped him back into the wheelchair.

“Dad!” Natalia screamed and started crying.

What a mess! Elizabeth was having a baby upstairs and my father-in-law probably had a heart attack downstairs.

I had to step in and create some order again.

“Tim, I need you at the packhouse. Now!” I mind-linked my friend, held my wife in my arms, and helped her over to her father. Alpha Ray had paled and tears ran down his face. He seemed to be having difficulty breathing.

“Dad?” Natalia hesitated.

“Dad? Can you hear me?” She reached out and touched his shoulder.

Her father opened his eyes and looked at her but no words came out of his mouth.

“Don’t worry, Natalia. I can help,” Luna Alison stepped in and my wife stepped back, giving Luna Alison some space.

In the meantime, Timothy had arrived, and my father led him upstairs to Elizabeth’s room.

Natalia was a nervous wreck, watching Luna Alison whispering something while her fingers moved around Alpha Ray’s chest.

It took some time but when Luna Alison finished, my father-in-law’s colour returned to normal and he started breathing again.

“Dad?” Natalia went to him and held his hand while her father locked eyes with her.

“Natalia, is Elizabeth here? Was Elias talking about your sister?”

My father-in-law’s voice came out low and hesitant. He squeezed Natalia’s hand and looked at her, begging for the truth. I could see the longing in his eyes.

If it had happened before, I would not be able to understand how my father-in-law felt. Expecting my baby though, made me understand how a parent felt about his children. My pup was not even born yet, and I already worried about his or her future, making plans to protect my child the best way possible.

“Yes, dad. Elisabeth is here with us, and she is having a baby upstairs now. Please give me some time to explain, okay?”

“Blake, what on earth is happening here? How did Elisabeth end up here? Is she okay? Is she alone?”

Ignoring Natalia’s pleading, my father-in-law turned to me and asked, his face flushed with anguish.

“Father, please. Your condition doesn’t allow you to be so upset. Please.” Natalia begged and Luna Alison stopped her.

“Your father is perfectly fine, Natalia. I just healed him. If I hadn’t, he would not live long enough to meet his grandchild. Don’t worry about him, my child. The bad days are gone,” she soothed my wife.

“Thank you, Luna. I will forever be in your debt,” Natalia lowered her head and whispered.

“Sweetie, why don’t you go upstairs with Luna Alison? Elisabeth would love to have you with her now. And Luna Alison might be of help if needed. I will explain everything to your father, don’t worry.” I put my hand on her waist and held her closer to me.

“Blake, please don’t tell him about Drake and the rogues. He won’t handle it well,” she mind-linked me and I smiled at her, nodding in agreement.

I waited until they left and then helped Alpha Ray to the sofa. Massimo and Elisa left the room and it was just us and Dylan left.

“Natalia ran into Elisabeth at the hospital when she took Elisa for a checkup,” I explained.

“Too many years have passed and Natalia asked me to forgive my brother and your daughter, Alpha Ray. I could not refuse my wife’s desire to be with her sister again. I have no hard feelings against Drake and Elizabeth anymore.” I paused and looked at my father-in-law who seemed lost in thought.

“Having Natalia in my life was a real blessing. The guy who left with Elisa was Natalia’s mate. But they broke their bond rejecting each other. Massimo is also in love with Elisa, who’s pregnant with his child.

Our Moon Goddess helped us, though and Natalia is now my mate. The bond is there, Alpha Ray. We are no longer chosen mates, a married couple with a bond that was not blessed from the beginning. Our Goddess has blessed us with the second chance mate bond, Alpha Ray.” I took a deep breath and continued. I should clarify as much as I could before he faced my brother and his daughter again.

“Drake has been a great help to me these days. I had to deal with a crazy bastard who tried to harm me and take my pack away. We left the old grudges behind us for the sake of our wives and babies and worked together. It won’t do us any good if we keep having bad feelings between us, right?”

“Why didn’t I know any of this, son? How could you keep me in the dark?” he replied, agitated.

“Like I said, too many things happened at once and we needed to deal with a couple of psychos. We thought it best to end that story and then tell you. What good would it do you if you knew we were in danger?” My reply was blunt and my wife’s father kept quiet, pondering my words.

“Blake, you amaze me. You have accepted my daughter and your brother into your home despite what happened so many years ago.” The admiration in Alpha Ray’s voice was clear.

“It’s your daughter that you should admire, Alpha. Natalia is the one that made me reconsider and see things differently. If Elisabeth and I had mated back then, I would never have had a chance with your youngest daughter. And I do not even want to think about that option. I love Natalia so much,” I confessed, my eyes not leaving his. I was sincere and I wanted him to realise that.

My father came downstairs and interrupted our conversation.

“Elisabeth just had her baby. It’s a healthy baby boy.” He smiled and patted Alpha Ray on the shoulder.

“I need to see her,” my father-in-law replied.

“Let’s give her and Drake some time alone with their baby,” I suggested and my father agreed with me.

There would be enough time to visit Elisabeth and her baby.

Drake

Elisabeth was in pain and there was nothing I could do to help her. I held her hand and tried to console her as the doctor instructed her to breathe. My father, who had been standing outside the room, barged in when the doctor called him and asked for the pack doctor to come help.

I could not ask questions that would agitate Elisabeth and I tried to communicate with my eyes.

“Don’t worry, Drake. We have everything under control. It’s better if the pack doctor is here as well. Your kind differs from us and I may need his help. That’s why I called him,” he assured me.

I had no idea who the pack doctor was. So when I saw Timothy, Blake’s friend, enter the room I averted my eyes. He gave me a surprised look and then his eyes went to Elisabeth. Timothy seemed lost for a moment.

When the doctor called him, he came back to his senses and went over to him asking for Elisabeth’s and our baby’s condition.

“Drake, could you go outside for a while? I think that your presence is upsetting Elisabeth. She might cooperate better if she is not worried about you as well,” our doctor said.

“Drake, do what the doctor says,” Elisabeth whispered between breaths, squeezing my hand. I hesitated, but the look she gave me made me turn and walk out of the room.

Was it that obvious that it scared me to death to see Elisabeth in so much pain? I must have passed my fear onto her and she could no longer follow the doctor’s advice.

My father, who was outside came to me and patted me on the shoulder. I paced up and down the corridor, unable to relax. That’s how Natalia and Luna Alison found me.

“Drake, is Elisabeth okay?” Natalia came to me, a worried expression on her face.

“Yes, the doctor asked me to leave the room so she could concentrate and follow his advice. I must have made her nervous,” I admitted and both women smiled.

“Let’s go check on her,” Luna Alison said and Natalia followed her into the room.

I stared at the closed door, listening to my wife’s painful m***s and all I wanted to do was walk into that room and take my wife in my arms to ease her pain.

“Don’t worry, Drake. Elisabeth is strong. She will manage.” My father patted my shoulder, comforting me.

Not long after, a baby’s cry made me rush back into the room. I saw Tim holding my baby boy in his arms, checking him out and the other doctor checking on Elisabeth with Luna Alison’s help.

Natalia was in a corner wiping tears from her face.

“Drake?”

Elisabeth’s tired voice came out as a whisper.

I rushed to my wife and held her hand while the doctor inserted the IV needle in her other hand.

“She is tired, Drake. She will be fine in a few hours, the doctor told me and I nodded.

“Drake, check on our baby,” Elisabeth whispered, closing her eyes.

I walked to Timothy and reached out to take my son from him.

“Is he all right?” I whispered, touching his tiny body with trembling hands for the first time.

“Yes, there’s nothing wrong with the baby,” Timothy replied.

“Drake, how did you get here?” he continued, watching me caressing my son’s face tenderly.

“Not now, Tim. Blake can tell you everything.” I replied, not looking at him. My eyes never left my son’s face and when he opened his eyes, they penetrated my soul. I was instantly in love with that little guy. I couldn’t say for sure, but he resembled Elizabeth and that made me happy. I would get to see my beloved wife’s face every time I laid my eyes on my son.

“Welcome to this world, little guy. I am your daddy and I promise to love and protect you for as long as I live.” I kissed his head softly and then walked to Elisabeth who had her eyes closed.

“Baby, do you want to see our baby boy?” I whispered and she opened her eyes giving me a tired smile.

Everyone else left the room and it was just the three of us.

Still holding our son, I kissed Elisabeth’s forehead and placed the baby in her arms.

“Thank you, my love. I have no words to explain how grateful I am to you for giving birth to our little boy.” I kissed her again and Elisabeth smiled at me.

“I love you, Drake,” she whispered and I hugged her carefully, so as not to hurt our son.

“I love you too, Ellie,” I replied and she gave me the baby, closing her eyes again. She was tired.

There and then I made a promise to myself that when Ellie felt better I would take her and our baby and leave that place. We didn’t belong there. I would give them the best life ever, trying my best for the rest of my life, away from everyone. We didn’t need any intrigue in our lives anymore. Our family of three was more than enough to make us happy in the future.

The doctor came back with the nurse and checked on the sleeping Elisabeth.

“Let her sleep. She’s been awake for two full days,” the doctor informed me and I nodded.

Half an hour later there was a knock on the door and my father came in. He entered the room, and his eyes travelled from Elisabeth to my son who had been sleeping in my arms peacefully.

I was ready to ask him to be quiet when another man entered the room and stood next to my father, tears rolling down his face.

“Alpha Ray?” I whispered but not low enough. Elisabeth opened her eyes, startled and saw her father standing in the room.

“Dad?” she whispered.
