Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 78

Blake

When Natalia came downstairs, she had tears in her eyes and I rushed over to her. What had happened to make her cry? Had anyone said anything to hurt her?

“Baby, what is it? Is everything okay with your sister? What happened?” I held her in my arms and Natalia wrapped her hands around my neck.

“Blake, I just witnessed the miracle of life. Elisabeth’s baby boy was born; what an incredible feeling it was to see him make his way into this world. He is such a beautiful baby,” she whispered and I smiled.

“We will also have a beautiful baby, sweetie. Look at you. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met,” I assured her and she smiled.

“Now you are just teasing me,” she complained.

“No, I am simply telling the truth,” I replied and she hid her face in my chest.

“Where’s my father?” she asked, looking around for Alpha Ray.

“He went upstairs with my father. I guess they went to see Elisabeth and the baby,” I replied.

“Blake, would that be okay? I mean, will my father’s heart handle the excitement?” Natalia worried.

“Natalia, when I touched your father’s chest before, I healed all his ailments, including his heart problem. From now on Alpha Ray will live a healthy life with his daughters and grandchildren,” Luna Alison comforted my wife and Natalia left my arms and walked to Dylan’s grandmother, hugging her and thanking her for saving her father’s life.

“I think I’ve finished my work here and I should leave with Dylan. I will let you keep the link between you and include Elisabeth now that everything is over. You still have things to settle and may need to contact each other for a few more days. Whenever you need me, I am only a call away,” Luna Alison said, hugging my wife and kissing her on the cheek.

“Thank you for your valuable assistance, Luna Alison. I always envied Dylan for being your grandson,” I confessed and that made Dylan grin.

“Not everyone is so lucky my friend,” he teased me and Luna Alison smiled.

We escorted them to their car and when they left, I helped my wife back inside. Drake came downstairs and our parents followed.

“Blake, can we use your office for a while? I want to talk to you all,” Natalia’s father said and I knew that he had something important to say.

I led the way and soon we were in my office waiting for Alpha Ray to talk. He seemed uneasy. I helped Natalia onto the sofa and sat next to her.

Her father stood by the window with his hands in his pockets. He then turned to my father and the latter nodded his head, giving him the green light to speak.

“I came here today to ask your opinion about something very important, Blake. My health issues will not allow me to be the pack Alpha for long, and I need someone to replace me,” he said.

“Dad, Luna Alison cured your health problems today. Don’t you feel better?” Natalia asked worriedly.

“Yes, Nat. I do feel better honey, don’t worry,” her father smiled at her.

“Now, back to what I was saying. Even if my health issues are gone, I will need free time to enjoy my grandchildren, away from the hassle of pack problems. My original thought was to ask you and Blake to replace me, replaceing a way to merge the packs despite the distance between them.” He paused and after taking a deep breath he continued.

“I know it might sound absurd to you, but I will say it anyway. It seems that you as siblings have buried the grudges between you. That is my realisation after today’s events. I don’t know how that happened but it makes me happy. And since Drake and Elisabeth are back, I want her and Drake to take over the pack. Natalia, are you okay with that?” he turned to my wife.

My wife smiled and nodded.

“Whatever makes you happy, dad. I already have my Luna duties here with Blake; Elisabeth is your firstborn. So naturally, she should be your successor. I have no problem with that,” my wife replied and I squeezed her hand, supporting her.

“But I have a problem with that,” Drake replied, messing with his hair nervously.

“What do you mean, Drake?” our parents asked simultaneously.

“I do not deserve the honour of being the pack Alpha, dad. Don’t forget what I did,” Drake replied to my father, averting his gaze.

“Drake, don’t.” Natalia and I linked him to stop the upcoming disaster.

He gave us a sad smile.

“The truth hurts, but it’s better it is out in the open than revealed afterwards,” my brother said, lowering his head and he continued.

“Before I continue, I would like to say that Elisabeth had nothing to do with my actions. She was unaware of what I did and when she found out, she threatened to leave me.” He paused.

“Drake, please stop,” my father begged and I saw tears in his eyes.

“No, dad. I need to tell the truth. Alpha Ray is Elizabeth’s father and he deserves that much. I won’t start my new life with my family based on lies. I’ve had enough of intrigue and manipulation,” Drake said sternly.

“Alpha Ray, I’ve done many bad things before we reached this point. I was greedy for power and blamed everyone else for my misfortune but myself and my actions.

We lived in Mexico city for many years and Elisabeth supported our family, working nonstop. And then I got the bright idea from Ace to come back to California and become the rogue leader.”

“What?” Natalia’s father jumped up in surprise.

“Please let me finish first. I took part in many attacks and led the rogues to victory. My primary purpose was to hurt you and Blake, taking over both packs and becoming an invincible Alpha.

But then Elisabeth got pregnant and I had to take care of her. That postponed my plans. When my wife found out what I’d done, she threatened to disappear from my life. I had to choose my family over my stupid plans for revenge that could lead to my death.

When I told Ace, he decided to blackmail me by using my wife as a hostage. And that was when Elisabeth and I ran into Natalia. One thing led to another, and I revealed my plans to my brother. I never expected Blake to forgive me and join forces with me to deal with Ace,” he said, his eyes filled with remorse.

“Drake that’s enough,” I stepped in, feeling a knot in my stomach at my brother’s confession.

“We have gone through these things already. The main point is that you regretted your actions and helped us through a difficult time, endangering your wife to do so. We all made mistakes back then and have our share of responsibility for what happened. Right, dad?” I turned to my father and he nodded in acknowledgement.

“Still, I don’t deserve to succeed Alpha Ray, Blake. How could I do that when I was the one who tried to take him down?” Drake looked at my father-in-law.

“I know that you must have changed your decision after what I just said, Alpha Ray. You can treat me however you wish, but please don’t hurt my Ellie by changing your attitude towards her. She is not to blame for my stupidity. All she did was love me unconditionally and pay the price for my actions. Please don’t deprive her of the right to have you by her side.” Drake bowed in respect and left my office.

Natalia’s father stood still, unable to believe what he had heard. He shook his head in denial, mumbling to himself.

“Dad?” Natalia asked me to help her up and she walked to her father.

“I know how hard it is for you to accept Drake’s actions, but for him to admit everything, means that he is really sorry for what he did. And Blake can assure you that Drake did everything he could to protect me from Ace and his men. My sister’s husband deserves a second chance, dad. Don’t you think so?” Natalia touched his arm.

“I don’t know, Nat. this is too much to accept,” my father-in-law replied.

“And you think what I did to you the past ten years is acceptable, Alpha Ray? Is that why you accepted me so quickly after I married Natalia? I spoke in a cold, emotionless voice. I wanted Natalia’s father to realise that my way of hurting him financially was no better than what my brother had tried to do.

Alpha Ray looked at me, dumbfounded. He wasn’t expecting me to say something like that.

“I hurt you in more ways than my brother tried to, Alpha Ray. I ruined you financially, whereas Drake failed to harm you or anyone in your pack. You must take that into consideration before your final decision,” I continued, leaving him speechless.

“Blake is right, dad. What Drake did was stupid, but thankfully he didn’t hurt anyone. You should reconsider because Drake told me he planned to take Elisabeth away if we succeeded in taking Ace down. So, don’t be surprised if they leave after a few days. He is keen on giving his family a better life away from everyone. He promised my sister that he would make her happy and keep out of trouble,” Natalia seconded my words in a steady voice.

“The little time I’ve spent with my brother recently made me see him differently. If I know him a little, he probably went upstairs to tell Elizabeth that they must go when she feels better. Drake doesn’t feel he has the right to be here with us,” I concluded.

“And knowing Elisabeth and her love for Drake, she will follow him, not questioning his decision. They will both do whatever it takes to live happily with their baby,” Natalia added.

“I love you, sweetie. You got my point and added more pressure. What a smart wife I have,” I teased my mate, mind-linking her.

“It takes two to tango, baby,” she replied playfully.

My father rushed over to me and gripped my shoulders, shaking me desperately.

“For heaven’s sake, Blake, you must convince your brother to stay with us. I cannot afford to lose him when we have just made up, clearing the misunderstanding between us. Please, Blake.” “I would love to help you, dad, but I think this is something a parent should do, not a sibling. If you both want your children to stay close to you, you know what you have to do. Right, babe?” I turned to Natalia and she smiled, giving me a thumbs-up behind our parent’s backs.

My father and Alpha Ray exchanged worried glances.

“We need to stop them,” my father told Alpha Ray, and in an abrupt move, they rushed out of the office, heading to Elizabeth’s room.
