Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 82

Massimo

As days passed, Fabrizio spent quality time with Natalia and Elisa without any worries. I didn’t want to spoil their fun, but I had a pack and a business to run. My father had already called, asking when I would be back. He had taken over my business and pack matters without complaint, but now that things were back in order with Elisa and me, I had to return to Italy.

Elisa was in our room, taking a nap and I went looking for Blake. Since we had cleared everything up with the kidnapping cases, Blake and I worked on settling the compensation suit caused by the accident. It was only a matter of time before our injured workers got the money from the culprits.

I found Blake in his office, talking to Lucas.

“Massimo is everything alright?” Blake looked up at me, waiting for my response.

“My father called me, Blake. He needs me so I have to go back. We have to go back,” I corrected, meaning Elisa and Fabrizio.

“Have you told her yet?” he asked.

“No, I thought we should talk to our mates together. They seem so happy right now but I can’t afford to stay, Blake. I need to fly back to Italy as soon as possible,” I explained.

“Let’s do it in the afternoon. We will take them for a walk by the lake and talk to them. They will understand, Massimo. You must take care of your pack,” Blake commented.

“I will talk to Fabrizio first,” I said and went to replace him in the garden. He was with Alpha Ray and Blake’s father.

“Fabrizio, Dad called me and he needs help. Elisa and I must return to Italy. Will you come with us or would you prefer to stay here a bit longer?” I cut to the chase and Fabrizio was a man of few words.

“I will come with you, Massimo. Blake and Natalia need some time alone. Besides, I have left work for a long time and my presence is needed too,” he smiled.

“I will come back when it’s time for Natalia to have her baby,” he continued.

“That settles it then,” I replied and went upstairs to check on Elisa. She had just woken up and was ready to get up.

“Let me help you, sweetie.” I went to her and carefully helped her up.

“Blake said we should take a walk by the lake,” I informed her and we left the room.

We found Blake and Natalia waiting for us downstairs and the four of us left. The walk to the lake had become a habit over the past few days.

“Elisa, I have been meaning to tell you but I thought it best if the four of us were together. My father called me and we must fly back to Italy, sweetheart,” I said and watched Natalia flinch. So did Elisa.

“Blake and I are done with our pressing business for now. I know you and Natalia are having a great time, but we must return, sweetie. Fabrizio will come with us. He wants to return to work.” I stopped and waited for their reaction.

Being pregnant made Elisa very sensitive but so was Natalia. There was nothing Blake and I could do to stop the tears from flowing down their faces. Without replying, they hugged each other as much as their swollen bumps would allow.

“When do we have to leave?” Elisa asked after a while.

“As soon as possible, baby. We need to book the first flight back to Italy.”

“Massimo, why not ask Dylan for his private jet? It will be more convenient for Elisa. She could rest in the jet bedroom. Let me call him,” Blake proposed and picked up his phone.

“You can leave anytime you want. Dylan said his jet is available,” Blake informed us and Elisa smiled sadly at Natalia.

“I guess this is it, Nat. We must go our separate ways soon. Will you help me pack?”

Natalia nodded and they walked back to the house while Blake and I followed them, ready to assist if one of them had difficulty walking.

Back in our room, Elisa turned to me with a worried expression.

“Massimo, what if your parents don’t like me? I am human and you are a werewolf. What if they don’t want you to have a mate like me?”

“Sweetie, my parents already know about you and the baby. They were the ones who insisted I should look for you, Lisa. You have nothing to worry about,” I comforted her.

Natalia came into the room and I left them alone. They needed some time together. I went looking for Fabrizio and I found him packing his clothes.

“Have you booked the tickets?” he asked.

“No, Dylan will lend us his jet. We will leave first thing tomorrow morning,” I replied and Fabrizio smiled.

“Good. I can’t wait to go back to Isola. I left my partner alone and I must check how business is. He must have gone crazy while I was away,” he teased and I smiled. The old Fabrizio, the workaholic old man was back and I was happy for him.

When I went back to our room, Elisa had already packed her things and mine.

“I will go downstairs and see if dinner is ready,” Natalia said, leaving us alone.

I walked to Elisa and hugged her. She rested her head on my shoulder and remained silent.

“Fabrizio has also packed, sweetheart. We will leave tomorrow morning,” I informed her.

At dinner, Drake appeared with Elisabeth by his side. She seemed much better than the first few days after she gave birth.

“We will leave tomorrow,” Elisabeth announced while having dinner. She looked at her father and smiled.

“Dad has arranged everything for the baby, so we will leave tomorrow for the Moon Howlers pack,” she said gently and Alpha Ray nodded, smiling.

“Everyone is leaving tomorrow,” Natalia whispered and Blake squeezed her hand smiling.

“Everyone has to settle down, baby. New things await them starting tomorrow. And you must focus on your Luna duties,” he said mischievously. Natalia blushed and everyone else laughed.

Only Fabrizio kept silent, playing with his food, lost in thought.

“Elizabeth, can I see the baby before we leave?’ Elisa requested and Elisabeth smiled at her.

“Of course, Elisa. We will go together when we finish dinner,” she replied.

We ate in silence, everyone deep in thought. It wasn’t easy to be separated after all that time together. Despite the difficulties, we had become family.

“He is such a handsome baby,” Elisa told me when she returned from Elisabeth’s room.

I smiled and helped her lie down.

“You should rest now. We have a long journey tomorrow, sweetie.” I placed my arm around her swollen tummy and closed my eyes. A new beginning awaited us back in Italy.

Elisa

The next morning Blake drove us to Dylan’s pack where Luna Alison and Dylan waited for us.

“When it’s time for the baby to be born, I will ask Dylan to bring me to you, Elisa. I am sure everything will be fine but I prefer to be close to you. Massimo hasn’t marked you yet and I think it’s best to wait until the baby is born. I will explain why when I come,” Luna Alison told me and I nodded.

“I will keep the link active,” she informed us.

“Since Massimo and Elisa will be away, keeping the link between us is best. That would save you many calls and make you feel like you haven’t separated,” Luna Alison smiled.

“Everyone can use it but me,” I whispered and she looked at me intensely.

“You need to be patient, Elisa. Wait a little longer,” she replied and I wondered what she meant.

Being separated from Natalia was not a simple thing. We had been together for so long and now I would have to face a new life alone, without her physical support, which scared me.

“Be brave, my child. If the Moon Goddess chose you for Massimo, there must be a good reason for it. You will not be alone, trust me. We will all support and help you when needed,” Luna Alison whispered to me, reading my thoughts.

Shen then walked to Fabrizio and whispered something to him. He looked at her surprised and blushed. He then nodded, wiping tears that had suddenly appeared in his eyes. I looked at him concerned, but he smiled at me and boarded the jet.

I turned to Natalia and hugged her tightly. She held onto me, not letting go. Massimo called me and I looked at him with teary eyes.

“We must board the plane, baby. It’s time,” he told me and I nodded. Releasing Natalia, I allowed Massimo to help me into the plane. It was no use looking back. It would only make things worse.

Taking a deep breath, I moved to my seat, I let Massimo guide me there and closed my eyes the moment I sat down. I kept them closed until the plane took off, flying us to a new life.

Fabrizio

When Massimo told me he had to return to Italy, I knew that I had to follow Elisa and him. Elisa’s parents would not go easy on her if they found out she’d gotten pregnant before marriage. They came from a religious family. As for Elisa being with a werewolf, that was another story. They would surely cause trouble and I needed to prevent that from happening.

I immediately said I would return to Italy with them and went upstairs to pack my things. I knew that leaving with Elisa was unfair to Natalia, but she had her father’s support and everyone else’s. Elisa needed me more.

A sudden headache made me stop packing and I sat on the bed holding my head, unable to move. Blurred pictures of Natalia and Elisa being in danger in a warehouse made my head spin. What was that all about?

When I felt better, I continued packing. I couldn’t stop thinking of what had passed through my mind. Did anything happen that I didn’t know of?

I shook the thought away and headed to the bathroom. A warm shower might drive away the headache that threatened to reappear.

I stood under the warm water, closing my eyes and trying to relax. The headache had already returned, messing with my head. Teresa’s face appeared in my mind. Why on earth was I thinking of my daughter? What was the meaning of all this?

I fisted my hands and placed them on the wet tiles, shaking my head in denial. Why now? Why think of my deceased child now? What caused these thoughts?

I remained in the bathroom until the headache disappeared. I wrapped myself in a towel and returned to my room to get ready for dinner. It would be our last night with everyone together.

At dinner, I tried to participate in the conversation with the others, but I couldn’t help feeling lost from time to time. After dinner, I retired to my room to get some rest. I felt exhausted for no reason.

It was a sleep full of dreams, nightmares, to be precise. I dreamed of Teresa. She was alive and tried to hurt Natalia and Elisa. My daughter had turned into a monster. And I was the one who prevented her from acting out her vile wishes. I was responsible for her death. I used her as a human shield to protect Elisa and the baby.

I woke up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat and with my heart beating so fast, I thought I had a heart attack. I hadn’t dreamed of my daughter for years and now she was constantly on my mind. And in the worst way.

I remained awake for the rest of the night, afraid that the nightmares would continue if I slept. When it was time, I left my room with my suitcase and headed for breakfast. I tried to behave normally, so as not to worry Natalia and Elisa. They were already emotionally overloaded knowing they would be separated in a few hours.

We drove to Dylan’s pack and Luna Alison was there. She gave me a look full of meaning that confused me. Why was she looking at me like that?

Flashes of the previous night’s nightmare appeared in my mind and I looked back at her, terrified. It wasn’t a nightmare was it? Teresa had indeed been alive and had tried to hurt Elisa and the baby. And I was the one who caused my daughter’s death.

Luna Alison, who had been whispering to Elisa came to me.

“I know that you have your memories back, Fabrizio. I tried to help you forget but you are a stubborn old man. Your system rejected the potion I gave you so now you know what happened to those girls and your daughter. You made the right decision to save Elisa and the baby. They are the only ones completely innocent where your daughter’s scheming is concerned.

You have two choices, Fabrizio. Take your life, feeling guilty for an already lost soul, or pretend you remember nothing and give happiness to these girls who love you equally and treated you like their father all these years. Because Teresa had lost the game the moment she decided to take revenge on Massimo, Fabrizio. She would have ended up dead one way or the other, you know that,” Luna Alison whispered to me and I nodded, wiping the tears from my face.

Luna Alison was right. The current Teresa was a total stranger to me and if things were different and I got in the way of her plans, she would not have hesitated to kill me. She had lost her sanity. Nothing and no one could save her from the pit she had thrown herself into. It pained me to know she was dead and I’d had something to do with it, but saving Elisa and the baby was the right thing for me to do.

I looked at the girls who were hugging each other tearfully and my heart ached. Various life obstacles had tormented them for the past few years. But the smile never left their lips whenever they came looking for me. They offered me their love unconditionally, and it was my duty to love and protect them as much as possible.

Yes! I would live the rest of my life pretending I didn’t know what happened and I would offer these girls and their babies the love they deserved. Luna Alison smiled at me and I turned the other way, boarding the jet that would take me back to Italy to start over.
