Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 9

Moon Howlers pack

Blake

When Natalia left her father’s office, I nervously ran my fingers through my hair and faced Lucas.

My Beta had a strange look, and I snapped at him, “What, Lucas?”

“Nothing, Blake. It seems to me that you are not repulsed by the idea of mating with Alpha Ray’s daughter after all.” Lucas joked.

“What are you talking about, Lucas? What you saw was a simple demonstration of who has the upper hand on this occasion, nothing more. That little lady thought she could manipulate me into changing the terms of the contract to her benefit,” I gritted through my teeth, avoiding looking him in the eye.

“If you say so, Blake.” Lucas smiled and, seeing my aggravated expression, changed the subject.

“So, how do we proceed with the rogues? What is our next move?”

I thought for a minute and then replied, “get in touch with the rest of the Alphas and inform them of the rogues. I want our best men to surround the area and see if we can replace more information about their plans.”

“What about you, Blake?”

“I will go replace Alpha Ray and inform him that our alliance is active and then inform him of the rogues’ new plans.”

“Will that be safe for his health, Blake?”

“His daughter has arrived, and with me being his future son-in-law based on the contract she just signed, I assume he can deal with it, Lucas.”

I watched my Beta leave Alpha Ray’s office, and holding the contract Natalia signed in my hands, I sat on the sofa, trying to calm my raging nerves.

I could still see the hurt in her eyes when she silently begged me to do something about the rogues, and all I did was take advantage of her weak position and force her to sign the contract.

I got what I wanted. Then why was I feeling so miserable? And why was it that whenever I thought of how Natalia put the contact in my hands after she signed, my chest was heavy, and the feeling of guilt drowned me?

“It’s good for you to know what an as.s you were, Blake,” Aries scolded me. “Is this how you plan to go on with Natalia? Because if it is, there is no way I will accept having my mood ruined daily,” my wolf scoffed.

“What do you expect me to do, Aries? Act like a love-sick puppy whenever I see her? For Moon Goddess’s sake, wolf, she is my contracted Luna, nothing more!”

“Well, if every time you meet with your contracted Luna, you act as you did before, that’s fine by me, Blake. At least our s*x life won’t be boring. That female has an internal flame, Blake-be careful that we don’t get burned.” Aries pulled the walls up and blocked me.

Frustrated with my wolf’s attitude, I left the office and walked toward Alpha Ray’s room. On the way there, I managed to compose myself and be the aloof Alpha everyone knew.

When I walked into the room, I found Alpha Ray with his doctor and James by his side. I walked closer, and Alpha Ray had a questioning look.

“Where is my daughter?” He sounded worried.

“I don’t know-Natalia left your office some time ago; I guess she is somewhere in the packhouse.”

“Blake, did you do anything to upset my child? Did she run away again?” Alpha Ray’s accusing tone brought back my guilt.

“On the contrary, Dad. Blake and I have a mutual understanding. Don’t worry.”

Natalia’s voice startled me, and I looked around – I saw her standing behind me, and I could tell she had been crying. Her puffy eyes and slightly red nose were like a punch to my stomach, and I felt the air leave my lungs, making it hard to breathe.

She had bathed, and her long black hair was still wet and pulled up in a messy bun. She wore no makeup; her face was as bright as the morning sun, and her rosy cheeks contrasted with the rest of her skin.

She passed me and went to her father, kissing his forehead.

“Natalia, have you been crying, my child?” Alpha Ray looked at me accusingly, and I felt the need to hide for the first time.

“No, Dad, I accidentally got shampoo in my eyes, that’s all.” She smiled at her father and then looked at me and spoke calmly,

“Blake and I figured things out, and I decided to accept his terms and sign the contract. It’s a profitable business deal for both sides, Dad, and no one will lose through this alliance.”

“Yeah, no one but her,” Aries whispered, and I couldn’t agree more, knowing that she had signed under duress.

Natalia kept the smile plastered on her face and came close to me, surprising me with her attitude.

“Blake, would you like to tell my dad of your Beta’s replaceings today? I guess that’s the second reason you returned to his room, right?”

“What was the first reason?” Alpha Ray asked.

“To let you know that he activated the alliance from the moment we signed the contract, right, Blake?”

I locked eyes with her and noticed her stubbornness- she would not give up that easily. She meant what she told me in her father’s office-she would never allow me to humiliate her in any way.

“Back down, Blake, don’t do anything stupid. Now is not the time,” Aries told me and, at the same time, he got a reply from Natalia’s wolf.

“For once, I agree with you, Wolfie.”

Sh.it! I had to come clean and ask Natalia about her wolf. I would have to be careful when talking to Aries from now on.

Composing myself, I turned to Alpha Ray and confirmed Natalia’s words.

“Yes, Alpha White, Natalia is correct. I wanted to tell you about our alliance and inform you that the scouts I placed around the perimeter of your pack have noticed an unusual movement of the rogues.”

His face paled, and I rushed to explain.

“Don’t worry, though. Lucas has already notified the rest of the Alphas, and they will surround the rogues.” I turned to James.

“James, you should go replace Lucas and help him secure the area; you know better than him the areas that are more vulnerable to attacks.”

James nodded and then left the room, and I turned back to Alpha Ray.

“If we could replace out what they are planning, it would make things easier for us. We must figure out their attack methods to stop them in time.”

My words came out easily when talking to Natalia’s father, including him in our plans to fight off the rogues.

“What on earth is wrong with me? Why am I acting so natural with the old man?”

“The only way is for someone to go to their hiding spot and try to spy on them,” Alpha Ray said.

“Or capture one of them and replace out,” Natalia added when Lucas entered the room with James.

“Alpha Blake, our scouts have captured one of the rogues. He was checking the perimeter to replace safe passage for his comrades.”

Alpha Ray tried to say something, but I stopped him with a move of my hand, indicating that I would handle it.

“Excellent, Lucas. Where are you keeping him?”

“We have taken him to the dungeon,” James replied, instead of my Beta. I nodded in acknowledgement, and James nodded back.

“Let’s go,” I replied and turned to the door, ready to leave.

“Wait!”

I stopped at Natalia’s voice. I turned to look at her.

“I am coming with you.”

“The dungeons are no place for you, Natalia,” I scoffed.

“Says who, Blake?” She retorted and then continued, “I may be able to help you question the prisoner.”

Without any other words, she led the way to the dungeons, followed by James, Lucas, and me. I gritted my teeth at her disobedience, but it was not the time and place to show her who the boss was.

The guards stationed at the dungeon greeted Natalia with respect (the news of her arrival had spread like wildfire) and then led us to where the prisoner was being held. It was not difficult to replace him, though. The rotten smell filled our nostrils, and we had an expression of pure disgust on our faces.

The rogue was tied with silver chains, and as soon as he saw us, a vicious smile lit his face and revealed his rotten teeth.

“Well, if it isn’t the all-mighty Blake Hunter. Nice to meet you, Alpha,” he sneered, and I rewarded him with a punch.

We watched, disgusted, as he started coughing and spitting, unable to breathe for a while.

“Is that all you’ve got?” He sneered and received another punch that smashed him against the wall.

“Blake enough! We need him alive,” Natalia held my arm before I landed another punch on the filthy creature in front of me.

I turned to look at her, angry at her interference and growled; my eyes changing colour-Aries was about to take over.

“Don’t you dare, Wolfie! Or so help me, Moon Goddess, I will make you sorry! I will take it from here with that mutt. You just watch and learn.”

Aries backed down and hid in the back of my mind. I stared at Natalia, unable to believe what had just happened. My wolf had obeyed Natalia’s wolf. “What the hell?”

Natalia

I couldn’t believe that Leia had overpowered Blake’s wolf that way. I didn’t know my wolf had the power to do such a thing, and I looked at Blake’s stunned expression, unable to reply to what had just happened.

“There are many things you don’t know yet, Natalia. I needed to perform my first shift to show you, and we had no time after that; so I could not reveal my gifts to you. Now is not the time, though. Let me use my powers and see what the rogue thinks. Maybe I can replace out something that will help us.”

I didn’t say anything more. I watched as the rogue looked at us, a filthy smile on his face.

I didn’t say anything more. I watched as the rogue looked at us, a filthy smile on his face.

“You know you are in a difficult position, don’t you?” I asked him.

“You don’t say, bit.ch!” he spat my way, gaining himself another punch from Blake.

“What the hell, Nox? This a*****e will kill me if he continues punching me like that. Why do you insist that I reveal nothing to them about our plans? I won’t be able to hold on for long.”

“What are you saying, you stupid human? How can we spill the beans to them? Our future depends on the attacks we will perform. We were supposed to attack the Moon Howlers pack first and then move on until we were strong enough to attack this jerk’s pack and rule the entire territory, but you got caught, and we had a last-minute change in our plans. Don’t you dare reveal anything to them, I warn you.”

“But Nox, if he keeps hurting me like that, I won’t have the strength to resist,” the rogue complained to his wolf, and I could feel Leia running circles in my mind, excited that she had managed to hear the rogue talking to his wolf.

“Hang on, there, you stupid human. You cannot tell them what our leader decided. We won’t stand a chance if he replaces out that most of our forces are on their way to attack his pack. He’ll send all the warriors he brought here straight back. By the time Blake realises what happened, there will no longer be the Dark Moon Stone pack.”

I barely managed to keep my cool and pretend I knew nothing about the rogue’s conversation with his wolf. Leia wanted to come forward and bite his head off, but she agreed that we had to keep him alive since he could lead us to their leader if we played our cards correctly.

“Blake, let’s go. We can always come back tomorrow. He is not going anywhere; the way I see it, he won’t tell us anything today.” I touched Blake’s arm, and he jumped in surprise.

“Natalia, what are you saying? Why should we leave now? I will bite his head off and finish him if he doesn’t talk today,” Blake roared, pulling his arm from my grip and punching the rogue one more time.

I pulled Blake away and turned him to face me, locking my eyes with his while the rogue struggled to breathe.

“Now, you stubborn jack.ss, listen to me. If Natalia says you should go, then you should go! Don’t piss me off anymore. There is a reason that you need to leave now, and Natalia will explain everything to you. Now, let’s get the hell out of here!” Leia took the lead and spoke to Blake since I could not tell him what had just happened.

I took a stunned Blake by the hand and led him outside the rogue’s cell. Uncle James and Lucas stayed behind to ensure the prisoner was well chained and no one would help him escape.

“What the hell was that, Nat?” Blake asked as soon as we left the dungeon, and I froze when he used the nickname he gave me when we were younger. Blake was so upset that he probably didn’t realise he had done something like that.

“Can you please wait until we reach my father’s office? Please mind-link Lucas and ask him to meet us there, and I will do the same with my Uncle James. Let’s talk first.”

I closed the door and turned to face Blake when we entered the office.

“Natalia, care to explain what the hell is wrong with your wolf? She has listened to all the conversations I had with my wolf and interfered in most of them, and she even dared to order my wolf and me.” Blake’s eyes were full of rage, but that was the least of my concerns.

“That’s beside the point now, Blake. We have more significant problems to worry about than that. As you must have realised, Leia, my wolf, can hear other wolves when communicating with their humans, and she can also talk to other werewolves outside our pack.”

I paused, giving Blake the chance to filter the information I had provided him. He stared, waiting for me to continue.

“So, between the punches you were giving that rogue, Leia heard his wolf mention that they’d had a change of plans after we captured his human. Their leader decided to use the attack on my pack as a diversion. And when everyone is busy fighting them off, another herd of rogues, a larger one, will attack and take possession of the Dark Moon Stone pack.”

“They will do what?” A loud, angry growl left Blake’s throat and shook the walls in my dad’s office.
