Chapter 155 A Big Secret

Anastasia was stunned.

This was the second time she had seen them together.

The last time was at the hospital when Beatrice had a meltdown, and Romy was there too, even though she seemed as calm as a bystander.

But they actually knew each other...

Anastasia's mind flashed with thoughts, but she couldn't quite grasp them.

Romy was Terence's woman, and Beatrice had a good relationship with Terence.

So, it was reasonable for Romy and Beatrice to know each other.

But Romy's identity wasn't public knowledge. How could Terence casually introduce her to his friends?

There seemed to be something off about the situation.

Jaxon looked at her dazed expression and waved in front of her. "Anastasia, what's wrong?"

Anastasia looked back and smiled, "Nothing, just saw someone I know."

Jaxon asked, "Do you want to go say hi?"

"No need. We're not that close."

Anastasia smiled, and they chatted about something else. Then, Jaxon got up to take a phone call while Anastasia headed toward the bathroom. When she returned, she happened to pass by the table where Beatrice and Romy were seated.

She happened to overhear their conversation.

Beatrice's tone was tinged with anger.

"Ten million dollars? Do you really dare to think that big? You're so greedy, aren't you? Are you worth ten million dollars, or is it your dad?"

Although Romy looked young and naive, her response was calm.

She took a sip of coffee and then, with a hint of coldness in her smile, she said,

"The secret I know is worth ten million dollars.

"My dad had a car accident while working for you, and he ended up being a vegetable. You only compensated us with 500 thousand dollars and even said to us patronizingly that you had shown great mercy. "My mom worked herself to death two years ago because she had to pay medical bills and send me to school.

"Without you, our family wouldn't have fallen apart."

Beatrice's face turned dark with anger. She coldly sneered, staring at Romy,

"Your dad took the money and messed up my business. I'm already being generous with fifty thousand dollars. Don't push it.

"You should feel lucky that he's a vegetable. If he wakes up, he will end up in prison!

"Do you dare to tell anyone what I did?

"Do you think Terence knows you're the daughter of the person who caused his accident?"

Romy's face turned slightly pale, and her eyes became gloomy.

Beatrice smirked in satisfaction, twirling her hair around her finger, and looked at Romy with a slanted gaze. She spoke with a smile,

"If he knew, he'd probably hate you to his guts! How dare you threaten me, Romy? You should keep your feet on the ground. Even if you want to take shortcuts, you should replace the value in men. Instead, you always come to me with threats. That's not a good habit."

She stood up, and looked at the young girl who she didn't take seriously.

"I remember that after the car accident, your father's treatment was delayed, so he became a vegetable. Do you know why did that happen?"

Beatrice looked at her indifferently and said word by word,

"Terence ordered that there was no need to treat your father, so he was left in front of the emergency room without being treated by anyone for a whole night."

Beatrice couldn't help laughing, appreciating the sudden change in Romy's expression. Then, she shook her head and swaggered out of the coffee shop. Romy's pure features froze into a cold, stiff expression. She looked like she had taken a heavy blow, looking desperate and confused.

Anastasia stood in the corridor, watching Beatrice leave and Romy sitting motionless.

She herself was also extremely shocked.

A car accident? Vegetable? Terence?

It was all too much for her to process at once. She felt like she had stumbled upon a massive secret, and she didn't know how to handle it.
