Chapter 161 The Traitor

The driver didn't dare to listen to Anastasia. He just glanced at Christian through the rearview mirror.

Christian didn't say anything. It was clear he disagreed.

In the next second, Anastasia unlocked the car door.

Christian forcefully grabbed Anastasia's wrist instantly and said fiercely,

"Are you going to kill yourself?"

Anastasia shook off his hand and said icily,

"Stop the car!"

This time the driver stopped.

Anastasia directly opened the door and got out of the car. Even if she had to walk home, she didn't want to breathe the same air as Christian.

She felt suffocated.

Christian took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down quickly.

He realized that his reaction just now must have hurt Anastasia.

He only felt it couldn't be advantageous for Beatrice when Anastasia asked so many questions.

Watching Anastasia turn and walk away, he opened the car door and got out.

The driver hesitated for a moment and then seized the opportunity to inform Beatrice.

However, as the message was just sent, Christian suddenly turned back.

He opened the driver's door with a bounce, grabbed the phone from his hand before the driver could react, quickly read it, and then grabbed the driver's collar, pulling him out. Christian fiercely threw the phone on the ground, shattering it into pieces.

Then he kicked the driver. His eyes focused on the driver were as chill as ice.

"You traitor. How much benefit does Beatrice give you, huh?"

Christian seemed to vent all the suppressed anger from before onto the driver.

No wonder Beatrice just so happened to call him every time he met with Anastasia.

It turned out that she bribed his driver!

Christian frowned and looked gloomy.

The driver trembled in fear, unable to say a word.

He was immediately dismissed from his job.

Christian drove personally behind Anastasia slowly.

But she even didn't look at him.

Christian was annoyed. And his expression grew even gloomier.

He turned in the opposite direction until Anastasia took a taxi and left.

He had messed things up.

Anastasia had ordered an investigation into Beatrice's background, especially her mother's photos.

A few days later.

Anastasia didn't respond to Romy. Despite visiting Starlight Entertainment a few times, Romy was turned away each time.

She probably understood Anastasia's stance, so she didn't come again.

Soon, there was a heavyweight awards party for showbiz.

Anastasia naturally had to attend it.

Amanda and Baxter also headed separately to the party.

They were both award presenters for this awards party.

Amanda was known as the ageless goddess of the industry. She looked like Anastasia's older sister, ethereal and elegant, with a fairy-like presence when she smiled. Although Baxter was in his fifties, he still looked charming and showed no weight gain.

Anastasia inherited the best qualities from both of them.

As Anastasia watched her parents appear unfamiliar on the surface but exchange loving glances, she felt a bit uncomfortable and decided to go to another place. She had enough of her parents showing affection.

After the awards party, Anastasia mingled with people alongside Julian.

Julian got hungry, so he went aside to grab something to eat.

Anastasia was left standing idly by, looking around.

Suddenly, she saw Christian, whom she hadn't seen in a few days, walking towards her.
