Chapter 178 Turbulence at the Birthday Banquet

The birthday banquet was suddenly interrupted, and everyone looked on in shock.

Lamia covered her mouth in fright, unable to say a word.

Beatrice pointed at Jane's nose and scolded her while wearing a triumphant smirk,

"Do you think I don't know what you have in mind?

"Dressing so flashy for whom?

"You just want to seduce him. I've seen such tricks before, you bitch!"

Beatrice seemed to enjoy the scolding. She grabbed a wine bottle, intending to throw it at Jane.

In the next second, Beatrice's hand was grabbed, and the bottle fell to the ground.

Beatrice turned her head and was stunned to see a gloomy-faced Christian.

"Christian..."

Beatrice's voice softened, her lips quivering. Just as Beatrice was about to say something, Christian slapped her. With a loud slap echoing, Beatrice covered her face in shock.

"How could you slap me for this bitch? She tried to drug your drink to seduce you, and I caught her!"

Jane seemed to still be recovering from the shock, slowly lifting her pale face, Jane's eyes brimming with tears. That wrongfully accused look on her face said it all, everyone would unconditionally believe in her innocence. Christian looked grim and ordered his bodyguard,

"Take her away!"

The bodyguard immediately restrained Beatrice, who cried out desperately,

"Christian, it was all done by my mother. I had nothing to do with these! How could I harm you when I love you so much?" Christian's brows were slightly furrowed, and his face was tense as he looked down at Jane who was sobbing softly.

Christian bent over and picked Jane up. "Go to the hospital."

Anastasia stood there and watched. Jaxon had silently approached her from behind.

He handed her a glass of juice and smiled.

"Mr. Patterson has always had luck in love affairs throughout his life!"

Anastasia forced a smile,

"Beatrice won't let this go. The evidence is insufficient to prove she had her mother attempt to murder."

Jaxon chuckled, "The key is whether Mr. Patterson believed it."

Even with the evidence, it was just an attempt. With a good lawyer, Beatrice could easily get away.

Anastasia raised her eyebrow, saying nothing.

Jaxon suddenly grabbed Anastasia's hand and pulled her towards the dance floor.

"Let's dance."

"I can't."

"I don't believe that."

He teased her with a glance.

Anastasia was speechless.

They shared a laugh and stepped onto the dance floor.

To move past the unpleasantness, James and Lamia were also dancing.

Seeing Jaxon and Anastasia, people seemed surprised.

Jaxon is the person in charge of Stanford Group with countless assets, and had an unexpected closeness with the divorced Anastasia.

Many people were green with envy.

Anastasia was initially hesitant at first, but gradually relaxed with Jaxon matching her every step, taking the lead from him and dancing gracefully.

Jaxon gazed at her with a gentle expression, and from an outsider's perspective, they seemed deeply intimate.

Emma's eyes turned red as she watched from below.

A lady in a black dress couldn't help but say,

"You've always been so kind to her, addressing her as Anastasia, and yet she's flirting with the man you like behind your back. Why are you still so polite to her?

"If it were me, I'd splash wine in her face, kick her out, and see who she flirts with next."

Emma's face paled, biting her lip.

"She's Anastasia. She donated her bone marrow to me. She's a good person. She wouldn't treat me like that."

With that, she ran off with tears in her eyes.

The lady scoffed.

"What a fool. Everyone knows she donated her bone marrow for Christian, not out of genuine kindness!"
