Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 3337 The Chief Healer's Downfall
The chief healer's expression twisted in disbelief. Could it be that this guy is more than just an inexperienced kid? Is he actually a prodigy with real talent? The excited buzz from the crowd around him only added to his anxiety as he struggled to keep up with Matthew's
rapid diagnosis.
"You've got kidney deficiency."
"You're dealing with gastric."
"You've burned the midnight oil-your liver's taking a hit."
Matthew was on fire, diagnosing people in mere seconds and offering quick solutions. Each correct assessment left everyone astonished.
Meanwhile, the chief healer was still stuck with his traditional methods, needing to ask questions and sometimes even requiring patients to undress for a proper check-up. His meticulous approach felt sluggish compared to Matthew's instinctive and fast assessments. As the crowd's faith in the chief healer began to waver, whispers started to ripple through.
"Why does it feel like that kid is faster than the chief healer?"
"Maybe he really does know what he's talking about?"
The crowd's skepticism, initially sown by the chief healer's authority, began to unravel as they watched Matthew confidently display his skills.
The incense stick lit by one of the witch clan's members was about wholly burned out, signaling that the chief healer's time was running short. His face darkened with frustration; he couldn't accept losing without a fight.
A flicker of malice crossed his eyes as he subtly signaled toward the alley behind him.
As the last of the incense smoke faded, the tension in the crowd escalated.
"Something feels off-maybe the chief healer isn't well today!"
"Can we reschedule? He must be having an off day!"
Still, their frantic pleas couldn't change the tide of confidence building around Matthew. The chief healer glanced at the shadows of the alley, where an old woman stood.
The old woman seemed fragile but dangerous. She was holding something nearly invisible-a tiny bug known as the Wraithbug.
Once it entered someone's body, this deadly bug could kill them instantly. Yet, it was a one-and-done deal; the bug would perish after a single use, making it an incredibly rare weapon.
With a swift motion, the old woman released the bug, sending it silently toward Matthew.
Yet Matthew was ready. Sensing the danger, he drew his sword, Bloodreaper, and reduced the tiny bug to ashes with one mighty swing. His previously calm expression hardened, and his eyes narrowed with fierce killing intent.
An unsettling hush fell over the alley as members of the Martial League, positioned outside, rapidly moved to encircle the area.
"Everyone, clear out now!" one of them ordered, closing in on the scene.
At the same time, small red dots appeared on the chief healer's forehead, a physical manifestation of his imminent demise. The sharp pain felt like a grim reminder that he was in deep trouble.
In that instant, the chief healer
realized he'd been wholly outsmarted. He glanced at the Martial League members who had swiftly encircled Willow Alley, and it hit him they were ready for this all along. It's clear now that I lost; there's no escaping that fact.
Thud!
A witch clan member shouted, "Chief healer!"
"No! Please, chief healer!" another begged.
Ignoring their cries, the chief healer dropped to his knees before Matthew and bowed his head to the ground.
"Your Excellency of the Martial
League... I'm the one to blame for all this. My greed and ambition blinded me. All ask is that you spare my people. I'm ready to give my life as punishment for my wrongs," he
confessed, his voice shaky
As he spoke, a thought crossed his mind. Maybe the moment I first read that compendium, I stopped being myself and became a dummy driven by desire.
The alley fell silent, and the loyal witch clan members were stunned. They had never witnessed their respected chief healer brought so low.
"I know my actions are unforgivable, but the others didn't know anything. Please... let them go," the chief healer urged, his tone heavy with regret.
