Married By Mistake
Chapter 37

LUNA

“One day, Juan’s mother ordered Juan to take the crabs home. But Juan was so lazy that when his mother left, he lowered the crabs and walked over and said, ‘All right, crabs. Go home to our house. Don’t be lazy. “

I just smiled as I watched him read the children’s book while lying next to me and leaning his back on the headboard.

A few weeks ago I got home to Dad’s house. The doctor told me that I could no longer stay awake, be stressed and even cry for the good of the baby.

Dylan also visits me almost every day to take care of me. It only goes away when he knows I’m sound asleep. Dad also let him go in and out of his house because he could see my husband’s change.

“Ah!”

“Why? W-What’s wrong, Luna?”

“H-He’s kicking.”

Dylan caressed the bulge in my stomach. “Baby, take it easy. Mommy’s already hurting.”

I sighed when I felt his warm palm.

“She likes it.”

“Likes what?” He said innocently.

“You’re touching her.”

“I like it, too.” He smiled gently.

I combed his messy hair. “Aren’t you going home? You’re going to spend the night on the road.”

His eyes widened and he smiled. “When you’re asleep, then I’ll leave.”

I knew he was just trying not to let me know he was tired. When the office hours are over, he immediately travels there to the house just to visit me.

“Go home. I know you’re tired from the office.”

“I haven’t been tired since I’ve been with you.”

I blushed at what he said.

“Oh, you’re blushing.”

“S-Shut up.”

He laughed.

“Quit laughing!” I said.

His forehead furrowed and we cupped our palms. “Easy there, Baby. Don’t shout.”

I bowed. “I’m sorry.”

I yawned and rolled my eyes.

“Go to sleep so I can leave.” He lifted the blanket over my shoulder and played with my hair.

I squeezed him before turning a blind eye. “Good night, Dylan.”

“I love you, wife.”

“I .. love .. hmm ..” I murmured sleepily.

I woke up with no one next to me. I stretched and narrowed my eyes. I caressed my womb and smiled. “Good morning, baby girl.”

I was looking at my phone on the bedside table when it rang. I answered him immediately when I saw the Caller ID was my husband’s name.

“Good morning,” I said huskily.

“Hmm, it’s so nice to hear your bedroom voice, Baby Luna.” Wait. Why does his voice sound different?

“Why are you awake this early? It’s Saturday. I can be check-up in the afternoon.” He must rest. I knew he was tired, but he woke up early to call me.

I’m nervous, but I’m worried about my husband’s health.

“Yeah. And I’m sorry I can’t be with you now.”

What ?! “Why?”

“I just can’t, Baby. I’m sorry.”

“But, today is my check-up schedule. Won’t you be with me even this afternoon?”

“I asked Camille to come with you first. Sorry, Baby. I-I’m just a little busy in the office right now.”

I was frustrated. Office? Is that even more important than me? “Who are you getting busy with that you can’t make time for me?”

“Baby, don’t be mad. I said I’m sorry. And I’m not seeing anyone. You’re just my only one. Please, I’m sorry.” He said. Sound hurt.

“Fine. Who needs you anyway.” Weakly but emphatically I say.

“Baby—” I didn’t even give him the right to speak. I immediately cut the line and disgusted returned the phone to the bedside table.

“Baby, it looks like it’s just the two of us again.” I talked to my baby. “We don’t like him.”

I knocked on Camille’s bedroom door before entering. I could still see it lying there while covered with a blanket. I approached Doc and shook his shoulder.

“Cammy…”

“Hmm?”

“Come with me. My husband ordered you to be with me, didn’t he?” The annoyance of what happened earlier still lingers on my tongue.

“Five minutes. No, ten. I mean, thirty. Ugh!” She said before covering herself with a blanket.

“Wake up. Let’s just be there for a while. Please, Camille? For your niece’s sake?”

“Ugh! Fine.”

“Thanks. And don’t mention that stupid, jerk, a*****e husband of mine. He’s pissing me off. So, as for you, lazy pants, move. Now. I don’t want to be late for my check-up.” I said before walking towards the door.

“I still want to sleep, damn it. It’s his fault. Hey!”

“Right. I couldn’t agree more.” I said before closing the door.

I got dressed and looked in the mirror to see my reflection. I took a deep breath to calm myself. Stress is forbidden. Be with the baby.

Smile, Luna.

Everything’s gonna be alright.

No stress allowed.

I shouldn’t be mad at Dylan like that. I shouldn’t have spoken hurtful words to him. I hurt him. Shit. I also need to give him the benefit of the doubt. What if he is really busy? Hay. Damn hormones.

Camille peeked at my door. She is well dressed. “What? Come on?”

“Let’s go to Dylan’s office first.”

Her forehead furrowed. “Why?”

“I just want to see hi— I mean, I want to check on him if he’s really busy or if he’s just busy with something else.”

“There’s nothing wrong with admitting you miss him.”

“I have nothing to admit.”

“You’re craving for him. Why don’t you go home?”

“None of your business, Sis,” I said as I walked down the stairs.

“You’re just missing out. When he replaces someone else, you’ll regret it.”

I was shocked when Camille said that.

Those words I fear the most.
