Married By Mistake -
Chapter 38
LUNA
Dylan’s secretary stood up when she saw me. “Good morning, Mrs Reyes.”
“Where’s Dylan?” I immediately questioned.
“Uhm, He’s not here Ma’am.”
“He told me he was in the office. Is he lying or are you just hiding him from me?”
“I’m sorry, Mrs Reyes. Your husband ordered me not to tell you where he is.” He said in a small voice and bowed.
“Who’s with him?”
“I’m sorry, Ma’am. I’ll be fired if I don’t obey Sir.”
I nodded. “Tell him, when I replace out he’s taking care of someone else, he won’t see me and his son again.”
“U-Understood, Madame.”
We walked out of Dylan’s office. I felt Camille touch my shoulder.
“Dylan loves you. He can’t do that to you.” She says poorly.
“I hope so.”
“Overthinking is an effect of pregnancy. Just calm down, Luna.”
“What if … Dylan get tired of courting me, Camille.”
She didn’t speak so I just kept quiet. I harboured the pain I was feeling.
I felt heavy when I went to my Obygyne. I took a deep breath and calmed myself. We entered the white door of the clinic and the doctor smiled when he saw me. I smiled back at him.
He said that my baby was fine. It is healthy and he sees no abnormalities.
We exited the doctor’s clinic and got into my car. I was just looking at my cellphone and waiting for Dylan to text while Camille was talking to her friend on the phone.
“See you later, Kenneth. Bye.” She said softly to the on the phone that makes me frowned.
“Kenneth who ?!” I asked as she hung up the phone.
“A friend.”
“You’re using your sweet voice and he’s just a friend? Are you, too, hiding something from me.”
“Kenneth is just a friend. Well, I like him .. and that’s all. You know me.”
“You’re playing a very dangerous game, sister.”
“I won’t fall for him. We’re both playing. And we’re enjoying it.”
He even talked about what he and Kenneth were doing on their dates. I just hold my forehead because Camille says that she has no feelings for the man but in the way she tells the story, it seems like she can’t sleep thinking about that man.
I looked at my phone when it flashed because of the text I received. I opened it easily when I saw my husband’s name.
‘Thank you for taking me home.’ WTF!
“Luna, why? You’re so stuck on your phone?”
I ignored Camille’s question and immediately called Dylan’s number.
“Hello, Baby.”
“Don’t ‘baby’ me. You’re deceitful. To whom did you send this ‘thank you for taking me home’, huh?” I insisted.
“Oh, shit.”
“Oh, shit really. It’s right that I won’t come back to you. You’re stupid. You’re going to die! Playboys like you must be going to hell!”
“Luna ..”
“Don’t ever show yourself in front of me. Do you think I need you? Hey, useless, you don’t even matter to me. Just, my child will be mine alone. I won’t give you the right to him. Because I don’t want him to have a father like you! Cheater! Liar! “
“S-Stop, Luna. Don’t stress yourself. I’m not seeing anyone. I swear. Let me explain.” I noticed the panic in his voice.
“Explain your face! Bye!” I said, simultaneously interrupting the call.
I swallowed a few times to keep my tears from flowing. Throughout the trip, I was just silent while thinking about how Dylan had done that to me.
When we got home I ate a little and went to my room. I lay down on my bed while caressing the big bulge in my stomach.
“Your dad won’t change, baby,” I whispered.
I plan to come back to him on his birthday. I want us to celebrate that special day together.
I woke up a little when there was a loud knock coming from my door. “Luna! Get out of there!”
“What?” I raised an eyebrow at Camille as she opened the door.
“Your husband is downstairs.”
“Get him out of here.”
She knows how irritated I was. “He’s burning with fever.”
Wait for what ?!
“Huh?”
I hurried but carefully went down to the living room. My husband’s hug greeted me when he saw me. My heart sank when I felt the high temperature.
“Baby, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” It seems very difficult to say that. “Don’t hate me, please. I don’t want to see you because I might infect you. I’m sorry.”
I immediately thought of the hurtful words I had said to him earlier in the car. “Dylan, let’s go upstairs first so you can rest ..”
He pressed his face against my neck. “My secretary brought me home because I can’t drive anymore. My head’s spinning, I couldn’t walk. But when you called and said those unpleasant words to me, I forced myself to come here. Because I don’t want to prolong our fight. Baby, I -I’m sorry. “
He loves me.
“I’m sorry, too.” I stroked her hair. “But let’s go up first, okay? You need to rest.”
He stared at me and shook. He stroked my cheek.
“I’ll just rest at home. I don’t want to infect you.”
“I won’t let you go.”
“I don’t want to risk your health, Baby Luna.”
“I want to take care of you.”
“Luna ..”
“I won’t be relieved until I know you’re good.”
He sighed. “I surrender.”
We went upstairs to my room holding hands. I took off his jacket and he removed the soles of his feet before going to bed. I lifted the blanket to its shoulder.
I sat down next to him and shook his head. “What are you feeling?”
“My headaches. Big time.” He growls.
“I’ll cook some soup so you can take the medicine.”
He faintly stared before holding my hand that was on his forehead. “Don’t strain yourself for me.”
“I won’t.”
I left to order the maid to cook soup for my husband. They helped me bring that to my room. I sat down next to the bed and gently woke Dylan. He stared and g*****d.
“Dylan, drink this soup first so you can take the medicine.”
He nodded and followed me. After he drank he went back to bed and wrapped the comforter around his body.
“Manang, please get me a pair of socks from Papa’s container.”
“Yes, miss.” He said before leaving the room. Just a few minutes later it came back with the socks I ordered.
I removed the blanket that covered Dylan’s feet and put socks on his feet to reduce the cold he felt. It howled at the touch of my hand.
“Do you have anything else to order, miss?”
“Nothing more. Please close the door.”
He nodded and took the tray out.
I slowly leaned over Dylan. He m****d and his warm palm caressed my womb.
“You need to get away from me a little now, I may infect you.” He low growl.
I shook my head and leaned over to him, my back facing him. He put his arm around me and his other hand crawled on my waist.
“Take a break, I’m just here, okay?”
“You’re always here for me.” My body shivered when I felt his breath. “Don’t k**s me while I’m sleeping. I don’t want to infect you.”
“You are sick, and yet you still manage to be a jerk.”
He laughs it off even faintly. “I don’t know where will I go if I didn’t meet you, my wife.”
