Married On Paper To The Billionaire
Chapter 61: Fear Of The Unknown

When Emilia regained consciousness, it was dark and she could smell the delicious aroma of beef stew. She was in so much pain that the only part of her body that she could move was her eyes.

A slow scan around her surroundings showed her that she was inside a log cabin. She was in a small room, lying on a bed alone. There was one chair in the room beside the bed and a bookshelf with a lantern on top of it.

She suddenly remembered that Matt had said he was taking her to a cabin before she jumped on him. Panic gripped her.

Had he somehow managed to survive that terrible crash and brought her here after all? How was she going to escape now?

She heard the footsteps coming towards the room and a male voice humming a tune. Who was that? Her savior or her captor?

The fear of the unknown made her nervous but she couldn't get up from the bed to hide. She seemed pinned to the spot.

A few seconds later, a strange man showed up at the doorway, holding a mug. When he saw that she was awake, his eyes lit up.

"You're awake!" He exclaimed. "I knew you'd make it. You've always been a champ."

Emilia was confused. She wanted to talk but her throat was dry and achy. The man strolled closer to the bed and looked down at her adoringly.

His hair was grey and unkempt. His wrinkled face was covered in age spots and shaggy grey beards. He wore too many layers of clothes which were dirty and wrinkled beyond restoration.

The stranger looked to be about 60-ish and he was tall but lanky. When he grinned, Emilia saw that his teeth hadn't seen the bristles of a toothbrush in a very long time.

"There's no need asking how you're doing, 'cause I can see you're battered real good," he said and sat on the chair beside the bed. "I found you near the beaver ditch while I was hiking earlier today. I had to scoop you up and bring you back here before anyone else came by. Lucky me."

Emilia wanted to speak but her dry throat wouldn't let her. She cleared it and immediately regretted doing so because the effort sent sharp barbs of pain shooting down her neck and back.

"Ah, pardon my manners, darling. I should have brought you some coffee," the man said. "here, take mine."

He put the mug near her face but Emilia pursed her lips, rejecting the offer. Hell would freeze over before she shared a cup with this dirty old man.

"What's wrong with you? Aren't you thirsty?"

When she wouldn't open her mouth, he finally gave up. "Fine. Suit yourself. I was just trying to help."

He lifted the mug to his lips and drank the content hungrily. When he was done, he sighed with satisfaction and belched loudly.

"There, that was some delicious coffee," he bragged. "I brewed it myself. I do everything here by myself. It used to be me and Billie but ever since... ever since she was taken from me, I've been all alone." Emilia wondered who Billie was. He seemed to read the question in her eyes and he answered it.

"She was my little girl," he said. "She was about your age. Her momma died giving birth to her. Billie was all I got in this world until that evil bear took her away from me."

Emilia licked her lips and tried her best to moisten her dry mouth with the small amount of saliva she could generate. She wondered why she couldn't move any of her limbs. Why was her body so tight and stiff? "Billie has broken her bones many times before," the old man was saying. "I used to fix them for her and she'd be back as good as new. Don't worry, in a few weeks, you'll be back on your feet, trust me." Emilia tried to smile at the man to express her gratitude but her face hurt too much. She licked her lips and tried to speak again.

"Who...?" She managed to whisper.

"Who am I?" The man answered. "I'm Hank. I poach baby bears around these woods. I got some tanners who pay me good money to bring them bear skins. They don't like the grown ones, they prefer the cubs." Revulsion bubbled up in Emilia's belly. What kind of person kills bear cubs for their skin? Wasn't that illegal?

"Billie was really good at luring those baby bears," he said while smiling at the memory. "sometime last year, she caught one. The little fool was won over by a few bars of chocolate."

The memory seemed to amuse him and he laughed heartily before he continued his tale.

"She whacked it real good and sliced it up like I taught her to. But she wasn't careful enough. The mama bear crept up on her and mauled her to death. I showed up too late."

Although his story of his daughter's tragic death was a painful one, Emilia couldn't replace it in her to feel sorry for the wicked man and his evil daughter. As far as she was concerned, the innocent baby bear got justice for its meaningless death. "I got my rifle and went into the woods to search for the mama bear," Hank continued, his face contorted with rage as he remembered that fateful day.

"She had taken the cub's body with her. When I found her, I lost my mind and fired multiple rounds into her stinky hairy back. Ooh, how I loved how she screamed in pain."

At this point, Emilia became seriously worried for herself. She had escaped from Matt's madness and landed in the den of a psychopath.

"Well, as fate would have it, there were some hikers in the area. When they heard the gunshots, they came running and found me pumping more shots into the bear. The bastards descended on me and disarmed me."

He scratched his head and tipped the mug to his mouth again. "Oh, crap. It's finished. I love coffee. I don't understand how some people can survive without it. Want some?"

Without waiting for her response, he got up and left the room. He came back shortly after with more coffee for himself. He sat on the chair again to continue his story.

"Where was I? Oh, yeah... they caught me and called the highway rangers. I was handed to the police and it didn't matter to them that my Billie had been killed. They took her body and buried her without my permission. I was locked up, taken to trial and sentenced to two years behind bars."

Emilia felt satisfaction well up inside of her. She wished they'd locked him up forever instead of for only two years.

"When I got out, I came back here to pick up from where I left off. It hasn't been easy without Billie. She was everything to me, everything. But guess what, fate has smiled on me again and here you are. I got me a new Billie!" Dread choked Emilia. This crazy man thought she was going to be a replacement for the hideous daughter he lost.

Gosh! Maybe she should have let Matt kidnap her and take her to his cousin's cabin. Perhaps she might have had the opportunity to escape.

She managed to bear the pain in her neck and she looked down at her body. Her clothes were ripped and her body was covered in bruises. Hank had bandaged her up and tied her to the bed with her arms pinned beside her.

"As I said," he continued. "you are going to be back on your feet in no time. I put a cast on your back and your left ankle. You're lucky to have fallen out of that vehicle. It was smashed up real good."

"Matt..." she rasped.

"What?"

"Matt..." she repeated.

"Don't worry, baby. Don't try to talk. Daddy's gonna take good care of you. I made some beef stew, just the way you like it."

"No..."

He ignored her and drank his coffee, draining the mug again. He set it on the floor and faced her again, this time with a glint in his faded brown eyes.

"It's time to give Daddy some sugar, Billie," he said and began to rub his swollen crotch suggestively. "you remember what I always say, don't you? One good turn deserves another. I saved you out there, now it's time for you to save me too." Emilia whimpered with fear when the man's calloused hand landed on her thigh. He grabbed her crotch roughly and moaned with desire.

"I know you can't do much for me now, Billie, but I can still feel you up and get off a little, huh?"

"No..."

"Don't be an ungrateful girl!" He said sharply. "Now, be quiet and let me take care of you."

To her horror, Hank ripped the soft fabric of her pants, exposing her underwear. He clawed at that too, tearing it up to reveal Emilia's genitals.

"Ooh, it's clean-shaven like I always wanted!" He exclaimed happily. "I always told ya to shave up, didn't I?"

"Stop..." Emilia whimpered.

He ignored her and slipped one dirty finger into her. She wanted to scream her disgust out loud, but her throat was too raw to make it happen. Her discomfort seemed to excite him the more. "Yeah... this is so soft, so moist, so good," he moaned with pleasure.

Emilia looked at him and was even more disgusted to see that he had pulled out his shaft from his pants and was stroking himself lovingly as he continued to molest her.

She closed her eyes and prayed for this nightmare to be over but it continued. He was panting and shoving more fingers into her. Tears escaped from the corner of her eyes. "Oh, Billie, my baby! This feels so good, Billie. You always make me feel so good, baby."

While the dirty old man continued to assault her, Emilia wept silently and wondered if Kane had been informed of her kidnap. Have the highway rangers noticed the accident? Was anyone looking for her? How long would she have to endure this shameful situation before she was rescued? Or was this the end of the road for her?
