Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1133
It had been twelve long days since Sarah vanished into thin air.
Dustin stared at the messages on his computer, his face a mask of frustration and anger. Beside him stood a stranger, delivering a report with a nervous edge to his voice.
"Sir, we've gathered all the intel available. Additionally, you asked us to look into Miss's exchange program. We've completed that investigation. We found the students who were in the same class as Miss, but it turns out she hardly ever attended in person, opting for online classes instead. So, after the initial days, Miss was virtually absent from the school."
"Also, we found out that Miss had a very loving boyfriend, but any details about him seem to have been meticulously erased, leaving no trace behind."
Dustin's frown deepened at the mention of a loving boyfriend.
Brielle and Spencer had been engaged for a decade, only for her to replace out about Spencer's infidelity and impulsively get involved with Max. During her exchange program, before discovering Spencer's betrayal, it was unlike her to have a boyfriend, given her personality. "Who said she had a boyfriend?"
The stranger coughed slightly, choosing his words carefully.
"It was mentioned by a classmate. Apparently, Miss came to school one day with marks that didn't go unnoticed, and after that, she never showed up again. The classmate also mentioned that her boyfriend was extremely possessive, calling her every ten minutes on the day she attended school."
Every ten minutes?
That level of possessiveness and control screamed of an unhealthy attachment to Brielle.
"Did any classmate mention how she seemed at the time?"
"Not good, sir. She appeared quite distracted."
"Right."
After dismissing the informant, Dustin tapped his fingers lightly on the desk, lost in thought, before reaching for his phone to call a friend in Saudi Arabia.
"Can you check on the whereabouts
of the 'Son of the Desert' from five
years ago? I need to know if he was in Saudi or North America during that time."
His friend in Saudi Arabia was well-connected. The 'Son of the Desert' was a beloved figure there, deeply respected by the people. Soon, a response came through.
"Regarding his whereabouts, there's
detailed coverage. For a long stretch five years ago, he wasn't here. There was a significant oil deal with North America at that time, causing quite a stir. He went to North America with their royal delegation and signed a six-month oil agreement. But, something about that deal always seemed off to us, like we got the short end of the stick."
The man's tone held a hint of suspicion but quickly shifted to defend the 'Son of the Desert.'
"However, since he took over Saudi oil, our economy has skyrocketed. So, nobody really questioned that six-month deal."
A spark of realization flashed in Dustin's eyes.
"Can I see that agreement?"
"I'm afraid that's not possible. It's a
royal document, and I only heard about it through the grapevine. It was unlike him to make such a deal, clearly favoring North America. But he made up for it elsewhere

With this new information, Dustin hung up. The room fell silent as he pieced together the scattered bits of data in his mind.
"That child, the spitting image of Max."
"Split personality."
"Her boyfriend's possessiveness and need for control, calling every ten minutes."
"That deal doesn't sound like something the 'Son of the Desert' would sign, clearly a win for North America."
Amidst the tangled web of clues, Dustin began to see a pattern, finally opening his eyes to a new possibility.
