Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 927
Ramey knew it was set in stone the minute he heard the determination in the voice. "Alright, I'll get started. Thankfully, the recent online drama has Ms. Brielle a bit distracted, so she's not keeping such a close eye on me anymore." Max didn't say a word, lost in his brooding thoughts. Even if Brielle could be hypnotized to forget the child, he knew he never would.
Lately, he felt like he was carrying the world on his shoulders, with the added stress of the upcoming month. The pain in his head was becoming unbearable, a searing ache that seemed to drill into his brain.
Just ten days left. Ten days to make every second count; to take over Dorsey International, and clear any remaining hurdles for her.
In ten days, the child would no longer be an issue, and then he could reach out to the Lynch family, have her return to her life as their cherished little princess.
Max winced from a sharp pain in his head and realized he had let his cigarette burn down to his fingers. He quickly stubbed it out in the ashtray.
His phone had been ringing off the hook with calls from Michael, who, even at this critical juncture, still hoped Max would reconsider and return as CEO of Dorsey International.
"Max, can you survive without the meds? Are you really willing to throw your life away for a Brielle?"
"Just come back, and the CEO position at Dorsey International is still yours. Otherwise, don't blame me for being heartless."
Max pressed his lips together, calmly blocked the number, and headed up to his study.
Downstairs, Ramey was lounging on the living room couch, going through Brielle's information. After a moment's hesitation, he couldn't resist sending it to his cousin.
Barely three minutes had passed when his phone rang.
His cousin, usually the epitome of calm, had a hint of urgency in his voice this time.
"Hey, I'm in Beaconsfield now, dealing with a new case."
"You've lost your mind!" The voice on the other end grew cold, then took a deep breath. "I don't care how much they're paying you, you need to come back now. Don't say I didn't warn you-I don't want to see you end up stuck in Beaconsfield forever."
A flicker of confusion crossed Ramey's eyes. Clearly, his cousin knew something he didn't.
"Cuz, it's not about the money. Mr. Dorsey has been good to me, and Ms. Brielle's situation is urgent."
""You're playing with fire!"
Ramey's eyelashes fluttered down. He wasn't lying-Max truly had good to him, and this was a
compelled to take. Contohe
"If you know something, just tell me."
Silence hung on the other end of the line, and the man didn't reveal anything, just sighed.
"I've given you fair warning. If you're hell-bent on this path, then it's your fate."
"Cuz, was Brielle ever your patient?"
But there was no answer. The call had been disconnected.
Stubbornly, Ramey sent one last text message.
I know you sign NDAs with your clients, but Ms. Brielle's mental state is severe I have to perform deep hypnosis. You know the risks as well as I do. I just need to know, was Ms. Brielle ever your patient?
The message went unanswered, sinking like a stone into the sea.
Ramey gave up, well aware of his cousin's reputation for being tight-lipped and skilled in his trade.
If Brielle had been his cousin's patient, what kind of psychological issues had she been dealing with?
Staying alert, Ramey waited until Brielle came downstairs before he tried to probe.
"Ms. Brielle, congratulations on Stellar Stage Entertainment's first film doing so well."

As he spoke, he casually set down his phone, displaying a photo of himself and his cousin on the screen, hoping to gauge her reaction.
Brielle glanced at the photo but showed no sign of recognition.
Ramey's expression darkened. She didn't know his cousin.
If she had been his patient, undergoing standard psychological treatment, she would surely recognize him. Unless... had she been put through the same kind of deep hypnosis that he was considering for her now? Had Brielle been subjected to deep hypnosis before?
