BARON

"How dare you interfere in my business, Baron?" I could see the rage in her eyes.

This girl was bloody stubborn and unrelenting, even when caught in her crimes, instead of her to apologize and be remorseful, she came here with a weapon to kill me. Kill me, in this condition, that was ludicrously laughable! But I did not smile as I stared at her. "I wonder what Aaron sees in you. You're despicable and plain vile."

"Don't you dare talk to me!" She warned, her voice trembling.

"Or what? You'll stab me to death?" I quirked an amused brow.

"Yes, I will stab you, but not yet. Not until you hear the shocking truth."

"What shocking truth?" What was she driving at? Was this her way trying to get into my head? Whatever truth she might want to tell me, I already knew about it. In fact, everyone was now aware of it and who she was. When I had entered the school, I had done so without my vehicle, so as to not draw attention to myself. I had walked into the school and gone straight to see Melissa.

The doctor had given good news pertaining her health though but she still needed to be moved into a bigger place, and that would be done soon. I had heard from the students that Katelyn had been taken to the hospital.

If she had been taken to the hospital, what was she still doing here? Why was she not receiving treatment? This girl was so evil. And foolishly so. Just because she wanted to get back at me for exposing her evil deeds, she left the chance to survive the brutality meted out to her by Katherina's wolf and came down here.

I shook my head at her. Some persons were just born to be evil. But then again, how had she known where to replace me? Who had told her I was here? Or should I begin to be a bit scared of her? She knowing everything about people just to use it against them.

How had she escaped the hospital to come here? Who had given her the information about me being here? "Who told you I was here?"

"That is not important, Baron." She brandished the knife at me. "I should be the one asking the questions. How did you get that tape? I thought all the cameras in school was shut down the day of the plan."

I chuckled. "I guess you have to be a Salvatore to know that there are extra hidden cameras in the school. Ones no one can see, strategically placed so students with evil intentions like you will not see nor suspect. Some are made for you to see, and which I guess, gave you the audacity to carry out the plan because you thought you had disconnected every camera."

Even I had not known there were extra hidden cameras that dad had fixed in the school. It was just as though he knew a day like this would come. And Katelyn had not counted on the presence of those hidden cameras.

It had surprised me too because when I had tried to check the school's footage, nothing had come out. Everything had been wiped clean, the girl was good, I would give her that.

"So you guys had extra fucking cameras in the school?" She was astounded.

"Guess you're not so smart after all, huh?" I taunted.

I prayed she would just drop to the floor and die, such a nuisance in the world of werewolves. Or any other for that matter. She did not deserve to live not after what she had done. "I'll kill you if you keep talking trash about me." She staggered forward.

That emitted a dry chuckle from me. "Coming from someone who can barely take a step forward without the possibility of falling face flat. You actually came here to kill me, so do it Katelyn. Do it! You evil soul." I calmly challenged. "Aren't we the same shade of evil?" She began to cackle but winced in pain.

"Funny you're sacrificing your life just to kill me. I wonder which other evil soul can beat that." I was taunting her, and she was angry. Sneering derisively at me.

"This your attitude had never favored you, Baron. It has made you lose something before and you'll still lose something again." She said.

"What do you mean?" I stood from the stone I had been seating to face her. What had she meant by that statement?

"Three years ago, remember? It was our final exams."

My blood boiled, what did she mean? What was the meaning of what she was saying? I controlled my anger, hoping it was not what I was thinking. "What did you do?"

I turned at the sound of the voice. Aaron. How did he replace me here? I would not ask too much questions because I knew we used to come here as pups. All of us except for Lucas who was still very young, though he started coming with us when he had grown enough to.

He was enraged, I could see it in his eyes. It was like looking in a mirror and seeing myself. We were too identical that people still made mistakes with our individual identities.

"Oh Aaron." She limped to where he stood.

He deftly moved away from her touch. "What did you disgusting monster do?!"

She flinched. "He was trying to make you stay away from me. He never liked me." She began to sob pathetically. "I did it for you, I'm sorry. How could he want to take your mate from you?"

"You're not my mate and I thank the Moon Goddess for that! Such a despicable person has no place in my life."

Her cries Increased. "But you called me your mate, you said we were mates. When we were young and..."

"Wait. Don't tell me you took our jokes as children serious?" He growled at her.

"I was already having a crush on you, and you told me we were mates. Ever since then you're the only person I want to be mates with."

"We're not mates, and we never will be!" He spat at her.

"It's because of her, right?! The bitch that did this to me..."

I had never seen Aaron that angry before but when he hit her across the face and she fell to the ground, coughing more blood, I knew he was out of it.

She raised herself from the ground and collected her knife. "I'll kill her."
