Mated To The Twin Alpha Heirs -
Deserving Death!
BARON
I had come for revenge and I had gotten it, or maybe I thought I had. I already knew and had seen the connection between Aaron and Katherina, and that had been my revenge.
But somewhere along the line, I had forgotten about the revenge and developed some feelings for Katherina. But I had no problem letting her go, she was not mine to keep, moreover, I was tired of everything.
Whatever I had in mind to do, it would not be done. I had changed my mind, and just wanted to leave this pack. Go back where I had come from and continue my life there. I felt pain shoot through me when I remembered what had happened in the past.
Whether it had happened intentionally or not, it did not change what had happened few years ago. Maybe he had done it out of jealousy or not, it was time to let it go.
But first, before I left, I needed to check on Melissa and move her from the school's hospital to the one in the pack. I had never seen Katherina as I had seen her today, she had proven she could be strong when the need arose. She had made us believe she had no wolf, then changed into a gigantic one. Was that the reason why she had been hiding her wolf? Because she hated the fact that her wolf was big? Was she embarrassed by it?
And why had she lied to her mom? I understand step mom's anger, it hurt to see your child keep such things away from you. Having a wolf was one very important thing in any werewolf's life, it was something to be proud of not keep secret. Why would Katherina make secret of something so important and sacred? That should had been the question. It made me curious too, and I did not know if anyone else had noticed her bracelet was no longer adorning her hand. I suspected that bracelet was no ordinary one and had helped keep her wolf in but where had she seen it? Who would give her such an object? Keeping one's wolf locked in was a very dangerous thing to do as the wolf could be angry and if they eventually got freed, might have some adverse effects.
Though I was not really sure, but during my journey outside of the pack, I had seen and learned a lot of things. Someone had once told me - a woman with special powers - that it was very difficult keeping a wolf in and if they even succeeded, there were bound to be some effects.
I had not seen it happen but I had added that to the list of things that werewolves should never do. But I think Katherina was safe, nothing was going to happen to her or her wolf. She had successfully transmuted and back again. Nothing had happened to her. When she had left the family living room in tears, I had been tempted to go see and comfort her but when I saw Aaron standing up from his seat, I knew he was going to do the same. I remained where I was, I had no zeal to keep fighting over her.
I liked her. Had developed feelings but I knew it was nothing compared to the mate bond between she and Aaron. Feeling the need to be alone, I had left the living room and walked past Aaron my way out, killing the urge to talk to him. There was nothing to tell him. He had won in the end. I had planned on taking his as he had taken mine, but I no longer wanted to. But that did not mean I would become friends with him again or identify as his brother, for what he had done did not warrant me to do that.
Wherever she was, she would not forgive me if I did that, so for her memory's sake, I would have to keep Aaron far from me. Let his conscience judge him, if he had any.
I had gone to the school to see Melissa and check if she was still safe, which she was. I would not trust Katelyn as long as she remained alive, that girl was pure evil.
What she had done to Melissa, sending those boys to beat her up when she realized the girl was onto replaceing the truth was just a telltale of her evilness. I was sure she had not known that Melissa had already gotten the evidence else she would had instructed them to get it from her.
For Melissa's sake, I would remain here until she woke, she deserved to be rewarded for her hard work and sacrifice, and I would compensate her for what she'd done to help Katherina's case.
I heard the rustling of the leaves. I was currently seating on my favorite spot ever since I was a young pup. It was quiet and quite breezy, calm and good for some thinking and lone meditation. There was a big boulder close to a small stream, I sat there. The leaves rustled again and the person I was not expecting to see appeared from behind a bush.
Katelyn.
"You!" She was covered in blood. We had not stayed to see what had happened to her, we had gone after Katherina.
"Katelyn, what do you want?" I quirked a brow. Why was she not at the hospital treating herself?
"You exposed me. You and that bitch!" She was holding a knife. Katherina had really done a number on her, I just wondered how she was able to remain standing in that condition. "So you wanted Katherina to keep being bullied and seen as a thief while you continue to live?" I eyed her in disdain.
There was actually nothing she could do with that weapon in her hand. I had no idea how she had managed to get but it was her business if she died from losing all the blood in her body. She deserved to die anyway.
