Aaron

I quickly rushed to my step mother's side before my father could get to her. Shock was evident on her face. I gently led her to a seat, soon Lucas was giving her a glass of water. When had he arrived the scene? I raised my head to see Zach and Trenton walk in too. They formed a group behind me.

"Baron what are you doing here?"

"You're hurting me dad."

"Don't go there. Don't play that card, Baron."

Dad shunned my twin brother.

"What card am I playing, dad?"

"What is wrong with you? Why did you come?"

"You don't want me? I'm now an outcast?"

"You made yourself an outcast, young wolf!"

I could see dad was getting angry. This was Baron's lifestyle. Because he was miserable, he wanted everyone around him to be miserable too. No one was the cause of his misfortune. No one was responsible but he decided I was and now had this crazy plan to carry a revenge and get his own pound of flesh. Baron was deranged!

"Was it by choice?!"

He yelled.

Anger surged through me. My wolf was furious, but I was controlling it. Barely.

"Don't you raise your voice at dad."

My voice was low but the warning there could not be mistaken.

"What is going on?"

I turned to see my step mother looking at everyone of us. She was confused and irritated. "That's our brother Baron, mom."

Lucas explained.

"What? You have another brother? Aaron's a twin?"

She asked, her eyes roaming our faces. Then they stopped when they landed on my father.

"What is happening here, David? Why did you not tell me you have another son?"

Dad looked guilty for a moment, then apologetic.

"Wow. So you got married and you did not care to let me know, huh?"

Baron inquired from dad.

"You have no right to speak Baron. I forbid you from speaking."

Dad growled at him.

It did not have to be like this. How the day had started so well and from the incident with Katherina to this. What more surprises should we be expecting next?

"Why? Why would you forbid me from speaking? You might own the pack but you don't own me."

"You are in my pack, under my roof. Whatever rules I set, you must abide by it. If you don't like it, you can always go."

"This is what you do best. Chase me away and enjoy life with your other four wonderful sons."

"Why are you blaming me for your problems? You might still be young but you are matured enough to take responsibility for your actions, Baron. Every action has its own consequence and you must be willing to pay for the consequences."

"You were supposed to be a father, dad."

"And I was. I did my best but you chose your own path. I never asked you to leave, you did."

"You never asked me to stay either."

He spat.

"What?"

"Yes, you never asked me to stay."

"You're crazy. I did ask you to stay but you were already blinded by your anger to listen to me. You refused to listen to me."

"You could have tried harder, you knew you could have tried harder. You decided not to."

"I could have tried harder? You wanted me following you around, begging you to come back?"

Baron did not say for a while. I was beginning to think he had nothing more to say.

"Anyways, it does not matter anymore. What you did or did not do, does not matter anymore."

His smirk was back on his face. My hands fisted by my side, I wanted to punch that stupid smirk off his face. Someone held my hand and I saw it was my step mother. Her eyes pleaded with me not escalate the already chaotic issue. I felt calm. Dad made the best decision marrying her. When he had told us of his intention to bring the woman he had met on his pack land and recognized as his mate, I had been indifferent. I had thought her to be the gold-digging type who probably wanted in on my father's extreme wealth and luxury. But Elizabeth had been different. She'd been kind, sweet and generally wonderful. And it only took me a minute to know she was not faking it. I had come to accept her then as my new mother. Others too. She behaved unlike any other Luna I'd seen. She was not just kind to us but to others too. It made me admire and respect her the more. It was just sad and unfortunate that same could not be said for her daughter. "So if it does not matter as you claim, why are you here?"

"He says he wants to get his pound of flesh."

I put in, a smug smile growing in my lips.

That seemed to have riled him up. He advanced threateningly towards me, and paused only when our heads were almost touching. We were the same height, same build. In fact, physically we were no different.

"Laugh all you want, Aaron. But it won't be for long before that joy is wiped off your face."

"Bring it on, Baron. I'm more than ready to catch whatever you are about to throw."

I've had enough of his nonsense. I was innocent in whatever he was accusing me of. I was not responsible for what had happened to him. I had no hand in it. Yes, the circumstances had been quite confusing but I once tried my best to explain it to him. I did everything I could to even help him replace out who was responsible but I could not. I had taken all of his blames and anger and kept my cool. But I was no longer going to take it.

"Baron can you stop this madness? Your brother will never hurt you that way."

Dad said from behind us. He was obviously tired of Baron acting crazy and blaming me for his misfortune.

"You used to love both of us."

Baron turned to my dad.

"I still love all of you. You're my boys, Baron. Every one of you."

"Yeah, them precisely."

"You too."

"No, dad. You used to but not anymore."

Dad looked at him shocked and frustrated.

"Why would you even think that?"

"Because if you do love me as your son, you'll help me get my pound of flesh from Aaron."

He walked out of the room but not before sweeping his disappointed gaze across the room, changing to an angry glare when they got to me.
