"You keep kidding yourself, Baron." I hit his arm playfully. He was still in my room, keeping me company and making sure I was not crying again.

"I'm hungry. You?" He asked, trying to stifle a yawn.

"I'm not hungry." How could I think of food when I was going through so much? My appetite in that moment was non-existent, food was the least of my problems. "You should be hungry." He eyed me.

"But I'm not." I insisted.

"I'm not going to take your word for it." He got out of the bed and went out of the room. I was left in my thoughts. Hm. What next for me now? The Alpha now knew and I wondered what he was going to do about it.

He might have even told my mom about it. My worries increased, what if he was angry? The initiation ceremony had almost brought my mother's wolf out of her, but mine had only tried to replace a way out to no avail. I just felt like no matter how hard I tried, I always ended up causing problems for my mother. I had this feeling in my guts that the Alpha would surely cause issues for me, though not intentionally of course.

This Wolf It ceremony had been certainly organized by him and it was a norm for the school to show their wolves off. Maybe it had been intended to be a fun game for others, but for me, it was an activity that had caused more trouble for me. What was I going to do? I was literally scared of going to school tomorrow. But what certainly confused me more was the fact that the boys had come in here claiming genuine concern and wanted reconciliation.

Why? After all this time? They had just decided it was going to be now. I had never thought they were going to return, especially now that I had flopped on the Wolf It ceremony. Now that they knew I did not have a wolf. And for Baron, was he really good with all of this? Or was he just trying to be a nice person and trying hard not to judge me? He had not even batted an eye when he had realized...or rather had heard me say I was wolf-less.

And also, what about Melissa? What was going on with her? I was yet to see or hear from her. Had she finally decided to quite being my personal servant? That girl had always despised me and if I said I knew why, I would be lying. But maybe it was for the best. Also, I even remembered that I had not talk to Baron about the clothes and what had transpired.

My phone buzzed and I checked the caller ID. It was not a call but a notification. I checked to see who had sent me a text, it was an unknown number. The words that stared back at me on my phone screen froze every part of my body. Fear and nerves tugged at every fibre of my being.

The door opened to reveal Baron then, I quickly put my phone away and plastered on a smile, trying to pretend everything was fine.

He creased his brows suspiciously, staring at me. I did all of my best trying not to let him detect anything was wrong. The guy was smart and could smell fear from even two miles away. Possessing an Alpha wolf gave him the edge over other wolves. His sense of smell was heightened and his level of intelligence was higher. It was hard to trick an Alpha wolf.

"Are you okay?" He plopped down next to me, his eyes still on me.

"Of course. Why won't I be?" A careless smile played on my lips, though I was anything but careless in that instant. I was more cautious and scared than careless. Who had sent that text? What was that all about? "Sure?" He sounded like he did not believe me.

"Very sure. Where's the food I thought you went to bring?" I asked, trying to steer the conversation away from me. I suspected he knew what I was trying to do but he made no comment about it.

"Are you hungry now?" He raised an amused brow.

"No, was just asking. You said you were hungry, so I thought you had gone to bring food or asked the servants to bring you some."

"It's actually the latter, I'm expecting it anytime soon." He adjusted himself on the bed so that he was lying comfortably. He pulled me towards him, I had no choice than to lay close to him, my head on his chest. It was a very comfortable position though.

"You're very kind, Baron." I told him, momentarily forgetting all about the day and this recent text I had just gotten from an anonymous.

"You can say that again." I did not need to look at his face to know he was smirking. I reached out towards his hair and pulled violently at a few strands.

"Ouch." He winced, removed his hair from my grip while bursting into laughter. "You're crazy, Katherina."

A wide grin occupying my face, I replied. "I want you to remember that whenever you try to play arrogance and pride with me."

"You must be really jealous of me." He stated, the humor rung clear in his words.

"Jealous of you?" I raised my head from his chest to quirk a brow at him but no sooner had I lifted my head when he forced it back on his chest.

"Yes jealous of me. You know my worth, you're just in denial." He teased

From my head's position on his chest, I rolled my eyes. "You can daydream all you want, Baron. Jealous of you." I chuckled at that. "What do you have that I'll be jealous of?" "For one, my kindness, you said that yourself."

"Hm."

"And you just can not deny that this face is not more than appealing."

"What face?" I tried to look disgusted, once again, he forced my head back down. I laughed, this guy was plain crazy.
