Mine: His Caged Princess -
Chapter 94
“Going somewhere?” Arabella asked in a sleepy tone when she felt him remove her hand from around his waist.
“Yeah! I have some work.” Wylder replied with a smile. “By the way, good morning, Ara.” With that, he removed her hand from around his waist, ready to leave the bed.
“Good morning, Alpha.” Arabella greeted him, trying to sit on the bed. “I’m all right now; I can also join you in training.”
“What? Nooo” Wylder stopped her, but by then she had already left the bed, only to scream in pain when her body weight landed on both her feet. She quickly sat on the bed and found Wylder by her side. “Didn’t the doctor inform you about your ankle?” He scolded her, and Quickie’s mind linked to coming into Arabella’s room ASAP.
“I don’t know. He was saying something last night, but I didn’t listen to him.’ Arabella responded truthfully before Wylder would have started scolding the doctor. The truth was, throughout the time she was awake, she was waiting for him to arrive to meet her or check on her, but he never came. At the same time, she was worried for Wylder as well. She received a glare from Wylder, at which she pouted like a baby. “So, what happened to my ankle?”
“You won’t be able to walk like before. Lee said that this wasn’t the first time they did it to your legs.”
“Who is Lee?” Arabella asked, changing the topic. Even though she knew that Lee was none other than Doctor Wayne, they knew each other since childhood. The best part was that she was marked and mated.
Not just that, she was also the mother of two pups.
Problem solved.
“Don’t change the topic,” Wylder warned her.
“Did Lee heal you?” But she again changed the topic.
Sighing, Wylder replied, “No. Now, don’t tell me you don’t remember what did you last night.” He pointed out and observed the confused expression on her face. He could tell that she had no idea about it. “You’re a witch, Ara. Green witch, to be exact, who has the ability to heal anyone out of all abilities.”
“I…. I don’t remember anything doing like that.” Arabella muttered and became sad thinking she wasn’t a werewolf but a witch. “Are you sure I’m a witch?” She questioned him again.
“Of course, I’m. The moment you started chanting the spell. I knew that you’re a witch because our language can’t be understood and read by others.”
“What spell?”
Wylder sighed and flew like air from there to get the book of witchcraft. After a minute, he was back with the book and opened the page related to Green witches and all their details.
Arabella grabbed the book quickly to see what are things written in the book only to realize that she couldn’t understand a word. She turned over the page to understand what was written on other pages but again, she failed to read anything.
She kept doing this by randomly opening the pages of the whole page and looking at Wylder and saying, “I don’t understand this language or writing.”
Wylder looked at her suspiciously before breaking a glass.
“I’m telling the truth, Alpha. I… I can’t understand this language.” She spoke. “You trust me, right?” She asked, wishing him to believe it. “I don’t have any reason to lie to you, Alpha. If you’re saying that I’m a witch then I’m a witch but I seriously don’t understand what is written in this book.”
“Reparo” Wylder said and all of a sudden that glass turned back to its previous form. No one could tell that someone broke it a moment before.
“Why are you looking at me in that? Don’t you trust me? I swear I.. I…” Tears welled in her eyes because she couldn’t understand how she could make him believe her.
Wylder didn’t miss how desperately she wanted him to believe her words just like Tiara used to do. “I trust you.”
“You do?” Arabella asked with her wide eyes on which Wylder nodded his head still couldn’t understand the incident that happened last night.
“I do.” Wylder nodded his head. “Anyways, now you need to rest. I have some work.”
“Work? Not training?” She asked like a typical wife.
“No. “I have to visit a witch coven with Eliam.”
“When are you going to be back?” She asked next.
“Within a couple of hours or a day maybe.”
“Maybe? Does that mean you’re not sure about it?” She asked in a low tone. She wanted him to spend some time with her, but she couldn’t say so straight to his face. After all, he was an Alpha, and he had a lot of work. Immediately, an idea came to her mind. “I was thinking if I could accompany you. I mean, just like you trust me, I trust you too. So, if I’m a witch, then who knows if someone from the coven that you’re visiting can recognize me, and I can finally replace out who I am?” She suggested.
Wylder knew the real intention behind her suggestion, but her suggestion wasn’t that bad.
“I don’t want her to replace her family this soon.” Night growled because he wanted to keep her near him.
‘Relax, big guy. It’s not that he would replace out about her parents immediately.’
“Okay!!” Wylder agreed. “I will ask a nurse to help you freshen up.” A big smile appeared on her lips as she listened to her words. She was ready to jump in excitement when she heard, “Don’t you dare to jump in excitement.”
‘How did he know that I was about to jump in excitement?’ She wondered, and all of a sudden, she recalled that she knew the password to his phone. She was about to tell him about it, but by then Wylder had already left.
“I will tell him this later.”
*
Though Arabella thought to share this with Wylder later, she was so happy with the thought that Wylder was holding her in his arms that this slipped her mind.
“We are here.” She heard it and looked around at the area covered with clouds.
“I can’t smell her here,” Eliam said, trying to smell his mate while Arabella remained quiet, enjoying the fact that she was still in Wylder’s arms.
She didn’t mind becoming handicapped for the rest of her life if he was there to carry her.
‘Come out of the dream, Arabella. He is not yours.’ She gave herself a reality check.
“Can you inform Zadok Bringer that I’m here with two of my friends?” Wylder spoke, reaching the guard on the border.
‘Friends. Yeah!’ Arabella thought about it and tried not to be sad. Deep down, she felt that this had happened before. As always, she couldn’t recall it. Wylder growled at the guard when he kept staring at Arabella’s scar on her face.
“Want me to tear it into pieces?” He growled again, scaring him. He stepped back from Wylder before speaking.
“Elder Zadok will be here any moment.”
Wylder nodded his head and looked at Eliam, who was trying to smell his mate.
“You can put me down now,” Arabella spoke in a low tone.
“Not happening. You haven’t learned how to walk on one leg yet, or did with the help of a walking cane, stay here without opening your mouth.” He ordered, to which Arabella nodded her head. Deep down, she was happy that she still had to stay in his arms.
‘I can smell her faint scent now.’ Eliam’s mind is linked and getting restless.
‘And I can smell my so-called father now.’
‘I’m not gay,’ Eliam responded, glaring at Wylder.
“Wilfred..” Wylder’s head snapped towards Zadok.
‘My mate’s scent is lingering around him.’ Eliam informed him. Wylder didn’t react; instead, his eyes were on Zadok, who was staring at Arabella.
“Why are you staring at her as if she is an alien?” Wylder said he was about to give an earful lecture to him, but what he heard next froze his body.
“Endora?” Zadok reached near Wylder to see Arabella’s face clearly. “Oh, my Hecate! It’s you, Endora. You’re alive.” He exclaimed while Wylder recalled hearing this name before.
‘Our work is done, Endora. I’ve mixed poison in his snacks. There is no way a werewolf can survive it.’
