MR. WOLF'S SECRETARY: A SIDEKICK ROMANCE -
CHAPTER 17
"Are you out of your mind?" Carmela shouted at Jacob when he declared about moving out of the family home. At first, she wanted to hire a seductress for her son but her mind changed.
"It's part of the changes, Mom."
"Jacob, no! Why are you being like this?"
When Jacob saw that his mother was on the verge of crying, he immediately strolled towards her and embraced the most important person in his life. "It's temporary, Mom. I just need to check something about myself," he pleaded with her. "Please, mom?"
After thorough consideration, Carmela nodded her head and said, "I'm going to miss you. If sending those women away could change your decision, then I will beg Blair to continue working with you." "What do you mean?"
"Blair submitted his resignation letter already and I can't let the position be vacant for too long."
Jacob didn't know how to react to the information that Blair's leaving the company and he blamed his rude treatment of him. Maybe, if he treated him well, then he would stay. "He's the best secretary that I have," he stated.
"Yeah, it's a shame that he wasn't happy to work here anymore," Carmela continued to attack Jacob emotionally. Knowing her son, he would try to take the blame for why Blair couldn't go on working with Wolf Bank.
Jacob disliked the idea of Blair leaving but he wouldn't try to stop him. "Then let's hire a new one," he said.
"It's done," Carmela replied, and once again, Blair's arrival was perfect! Jacob immediately frowned upon seeing the three women in their suits. "One of them will become your secretary in two weeks," she added while ignoring how his jaw clenched.
"Mom, what is this?"
Carmela smiled at Jacob and said, "It's part of the changes, my son."
Jacob was cornered and he had no way out of the dreadful situation he's in. "So starting tomorrow, I will be in the apartment."
Carmela had no choice but to compromise. However, she had another plan cooking, and soon, he wouldn't be able to say no to her...again! "Fair enough," she replied.
While they were in the middle of negotiating, Jenny entered the office and gasped at the women. "Who are these girls?" She asked but when her eyes moved to Blair, she smiled. "Hello, Blair."
"He's resigning from the job," Jacob enlightened his cousin who has her eyes at Blair.
Jenny glared at Jacob for being rude and then she looked at the handsome secretary whose handsome face kept her awake at night. "Is it true?"
"Yes," she answered without hesitation.
"You can't do this to me!"
"Miss Gordon, please calm down. I will just help these girls settle down in the office then I'll go to your office."
Jacob clapped his hands when he heard the way Blair spoke to his cousin. Carefully, he studied their gestures to check if they have an affair. It was a few moments later when he realized to mind his own business. "We're still busy right now, Jenny. Is it urgent?" Jacob asked when his cousin refused to leave even if Blair focused on his job.
"Brennan transferred his account to us this morning," she informed Jacob who only arched his brow at her announcement. When Brennan trusted his funds with Wolf Bank, it wouldn't be long and his friends would also bank with them. "How did you convince him?"
Jenny disliked the way he scrutinized her face and suddenly became defensive. "I didn't use my body to persuade him," she declared.
Carmela gasped for breath and darted her eyes from Jacob to Jenny. "Dear, what are you talking about? Jacob?"
"It's nothing to worry about, Mom. It's just a private joke between me and Jenny," Jacob explained.
"Is that so? Jenny, don't you dare! I will be mad, and think about your grandmother," Carmela reminded her niece to be cautious of her action. The last time her name was scandalized, her mother almost collapsed to death. "Don't worry, Aunt."
"Good. Anyway, I have to leave now. Jacob, try to get along with the girls," she cautioned her son to be mindful of his behavior towards the women.
"I'm not a beast, mother. Can you ask someone to prepare the apartment for me?"
Carmela nodded and left whereas Jenny was dumbfounded at the conversation between mother and son. "Are you moving out? Why?"
"For a change," he replied.
"It must be one hell of a change. What about the women with Blair? Are they also part of the changes?"
"Jen, why are you concerned about Blair?"
"I like him," Jenny replied nonchalantly. "Is it true that he's leaving Wolf Bank?"
"You must be sad because he's the reason why you insisted on working here, "Jacob commented.
"I'm not sad Jacob," she replied. Blair could be the reason why she wanted to work under Jacob but during the time she searched for a VIP client, she realized that she liked the job. "We had a deal," she reminded him. "I know," he replied.
When Jenny left, Jacob sighed deeply. The women with Blair in the pantry were a little loud and that's one of the reasons why he disliked women inside his office. For several years, he preferred working in total silence but as of the moment he had to play some music in the background.
He tried to focus while reviewing the financial statement of the bank when one of the women entered without knocking. His nostrils flared in anger and were about to blow up when Blair followed the woman.
"Do you need coffee, sir?" She asked.
"I'll let you know later," he said and dismissed them. "Blair, I need to talk to you," he called when he changed his mind.
Her heart thumped louder when Jacob gazed at her intently. "Is it about my resignation?"
Jacob put down the pen he used to mark important figures on the document and glared at Blair. "Don't worry. We can always replace a replacement," he mentioned in order to hurt her feelings.
Blair tightened her lips because he was right. They could always replace a replacement with no difficulties at all. The more he insulted her, the more she wanted to take up the job of being his mistress then she would teach him a lesson. "You are right," she said.
"Anyway, it's not about the resignation. It's about the whore, Miss Annie. Can you cancel my meeting with her tonight? I'm busy," he said.
"Yes sir," she replied and she's more than happy to do it.
"Call them," he ordered and a line appeared on Blair's forehead.
"Why?"
"Why not? Am I not allowed to talk with my future staff?"

"I'm sorry," she apologized before fetching the women. "Can I go out for a moment?"
"Sure," he replied but gritted his teeth at the thought that he would go to Jenny.
Blair informed the women that their boss wanted to talk to them, then after sending them to Jacob's office, she went outside. She planned to come clean with Jenny and she had to do it while she's still in the Wolf Bank.
She didn't bother to knock on the door and immediately turned around when she found Jenny on someone else's arm. Her gasp may be so loud because they stopped kissing and looked at her. Jenny's cheeks turned crimson red and the man stared at her as if he saw a ghost. "I'm sorry, I'll just come back later." She knew that Jenny was a pro in seducing men. She tried to seduce her before while believing that she's a real man.
"No! Please stay,” Jenny said and gestured the man to leave immediately.
"We'll talk later," he said.
Jenny was embarrassed that Blair found her in an embarrassing situation but Brennan Lim suddenly showed up and grabbed her. "It's not what you think, Blair. He forced himself on me," she explained. "You kissed him back," she stated. When she caught them kissing, the man didn't exert any force on her. Jenny's arms were on the man's neck, and it was clear evidence that she also wanted it to happen. Jenny was confused. She liked Blair so much but Brennan's advances fueled her womanly desires. She's been thinking about it lately but it seemed that she's attracted to Brennan. "He's just a friend," she said. Blair understood why Jenny was confused and guilty towards her. "I came here to tell you something important," she said.
Jenny's hand trembled in fear when Blair suddenly became serious. "You don't like me anymore," she said.
Blair almost lost her courage to admit the truth when she saw how Jenny lost her color. "I'm sorry...but I'm not a man."
"I won!" Jenny shouted and her sharp voice echoed around the walls of her pink office.
Blair was dumbfounded at Jenny's reaction and knitted her brows. "Did you bet on a lottery?"
"Silly, no! My cousins believed that Jacob is gay, and I was also convinced when he brought you home. So, is it true that you're a woman?" She asked and before Blair could react, she cupped the soft mount on her chest. Blair shrieked in horror but she couldn't stop laughing! "Jacob will have a heart attack if he'll know."
All of a sudden, she was embarrassed to be used by Jacob's cousin. "It's impossible to happen. Before he will know the truth, I will be gone already."
