“So, my princess is your niece by b***d?” Brandon asked to which Sila nodded. “Then why haven’t you told her about it yet?” he asked again while his mind was trying to observe that there was no history of Sila because she indeed landed from the sky.

“I didn’t want to disclose her past in front of her all of a sudden. Also, there were already a lot of things on both Artemis and Caroline’s plate.” Sila replied.

“So, you have no idea who killed Caroline’s parents?” Sophia asked.

“Actually, we know, who is behind it, but the person behind it escaped from this incident because of lack of proof,” Lorenzo responded. “Actually, my fated mate, Megan, wanted to teach Sila a lesson when she tried to return to my life, but neither I allowed her nor Artemis to accept her as his mother. At first, she tried to harm Sila, but when she failed, she harmed her family member with the help of hunters by telling them what her brother was.”

“But… but he was human at that moment. Then why did hunters kill him or his wife?”

“Hunters would have left them if they would have given their newly born daughter to them,” Sila mumbled and told them whatever they had found out by asking everyone in the neighborhood. Even a couple of people tried to help them when Caroline’s father was trying to fight to keep his wife and his daughter safe. While doing so, he was even stabbed; Zoey didn’t have any other choice from running away from there, carrying Caroline in her arm, and leaving her husband to die.

Sophia grabbed Brandon’s arms after listening to this. She couldn’t listen to all this. It sounds so horrible.

“… and I never found Caroline’s body, so I assumed that she was dead after all; how can a few hours baby could survive on her own.” Sila completed the story.

“We tried to collect proof against Megan, but at that moment, neither my resources could replace those hunters nor any other proof against her,” Lorenzo said.

“Does Caro know that Artemis’s real mother is the one who is behind her parent’s death?” Sophia asked.

“I guess, NO. Not yet.” Sila replied.

“Then Caro has the right to know about it. After all, we just can’t hide this information from her.” Brandon said, frowning.

Lorenzo knew that this was coming. No father or No parent wanted to make a bridge for their child on the basis of a lie, but some truth had the power to ruin everything. And this was one of the truths. He knew that this truth might… might ruin his son’s life for the second time, and he wouldn’t let that happen.

“As a father, I know that you are thinking of your daughter’s better future by telling her the truth. And trust me, as a father, I also think the same for my son but hide the truth from Caroline.” Lorenzo said in a serious tone. “I won’t stop you from telling the truth, but if you will tell her the truth, then please do tell her that the hunters that killed her parents were none other than the father and brother of your wife, Sophia Weasley,” he added, widening Sophia’s eyes.

Even Brandon was taken aback by listening to this.

“Tell Caro that the mother who fed her milk is the daughter of the murder of her REAL parents.” Lorenzo challenged.

“Don’t think of me as the villain, Mr. Haysbert.” Lorenzo Gosling said in a calm tone, seeing how stressed both Brandon, Logan, and Sophia were after listening to this piece of information, especially Sophia. “We both are on the same way but in a different way. If you want to tell the truth, then tell her the complete truth. I want to hide it.” He added.

“You know that the life of a lie is not long.” Brandon pointed out.

“I know, but who is going to tell her the truth if not us? And Megan doesn’t know that Caroline is Sila’s niece, so there is no chance that she can tell about it to Caroline.” Lorenzo said. Brandon didn’t like the idea of hiding anything from Caroline, but not that the death of her parents related to Sophia’s family members was really disturbing.

They just couldn’t drop a bomb on her by saying this. As of now, he didn’t have any other choice than to hide the truth from Caroline.

Immediately Brandon heard the soft cries of Artin. “Sophia, Artin is awake!!”

“He is awake.” Both Lorenzo and Brandon said the same thing at the same time. Sophia nodded her head and went to get Artin, who was sleeping in her room. She picked him up in her pack and careless his back softly, whispering soothing words in his ear.

She walked out of the room, holding him in her arms. He had hidden his head in the crook of her neck, still trying to come out of his sleep.

“So, now he can stay without…”

“Don’t take their name. He will start looking for them.” Sophia said, cutting Sila in between. She had observed that now Artin had learned to stay away from Caroline as long as he didn’t see her or hear her voice or hear her name.

Sila couldn’t help but walk toward Sophia. “May I?”

“Sure!!” With this, Sophia carefully gave Artin to Sila. Artin’s presence at that place totally changed the atmosphere. At the same time, Sophia and Sila got a chance to speak to each other friendly. Brandon and Lorenzo were wondering about their kids’ future.

‘If Caro leaves Arti just because of his mother’s deeds, then she should also leave her family; after all, her mother is the daughter of that hunter, Ethan Weasley.’ Lorenzo thought.
