“Perfect then. I will let him know after having dinner.” Artemis said with a smile. “By the way, I will be busy be office work so I won’t be able to spend time with you again. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. I can understand.” Caroline replied. ‘I will use this moment to meet with Uncle Oli and explain everything to him.’ She thought.

The following morning, Artemis left for the office early than on other days. He didn’t even get a chance to talk with his mate because she was still sleeping.

‘I will come later and check on her.’ Artemis thought and kissed her forehead before leaving. After three hours, he came back to check on his mate. After all, it was still her second day.

“Lucy, did she eat something?” He asked when he saw Lucy.

“Yes!! Surprisingly, she did. In fact, she asked for breakfast herself today. She is sleeping inside, locking the door.” Lucy replied. Artemis nodded his head and opened the door with a spare key so that Caroline’s sleep wouldn’t get disturbed.

But she wasn’t there. He looked for her in the washroom, but she wasn’t even there, just her fragrance to fool anyone that she was there.

His mind linked to his mate, ‘Regina, where are you?’

‘Where could I be? Of course, lying on the bed and getting bored.’ Artemis didn’t have the courage to ask any other question, not after he was already looking at the empty bed. ‘Don’t worry about me, honey. I’m all right. Okay?’

‘Okay.’ Artemis said and closed the mind link.

When Caroline woke up in the morning, her eyes searched for Artemis’s face, but she didn’t replace him anywhere.

‘God! What has happened to me? I can’t even stay away from him for an hour or a minute.’ She thought and rolled onto the side where Artemis had slept last night. Even that place was cold now. She used her power to bring Shaba to the surface as she was getting bored alone and was also missing Artemis.

“Perfect then. I will let him know after having dinner.” Artemis said with a smile. “By the way, I will be busy be office work so I won’t be able to spend time with you again. I’m sorry.”

‘I like the scent of our mate.’

‘Same here. I like the spicy smell of cologne that he uses.’ Caroline mumbled, hugging his pillow. ‘I miss him, Shaba. Badly.’

‘You both need to go somewhere as honeymoon, you know.’

‘Yeah, maybe. I don’t know; so many things are going on in Artemis’s life. I wonder when he will be free t take another break. He was also telling me about a party in a pack where he would introduce me to his pack members and also his parent formally.’

‘And what about you? When are you going to disclose this news to your parents?’ Shaba asked, on which Caroline hissed, thinking about her dad’s anger.

‘I will tell them soon after falling in love with Artemis. So that, when dad will ask, ‘do you love him?’ I will have a perfect answer for that.’

Shaba rolled her eyes at the stupidity of her hooooman. ‘Oh, okay. How many times do you need to fall for him before telling mom and dad?’ She asked. ‘No. Tell me, so that I have got an idea that until when you will tell them the truth? Because from where I’m seeing, I can clearly see that you have already fallen in love with him.’

‘Before you start stammering. Let me clear everything to you. I know it is too early, but it is not compulsory to fall in love after taking years. You have heard of love at first sight, haven’t you? Anyways, let me tell you the symptoms of love because, my stupid hoooman, you’re already affected by it.

You feel adventurous. Otherwise, you will never have the risk of getting marked by him.

Shaba named the multiple symptoms that indicated that Caroline was suffering from a disease called love.

‘To be honest, Caroline, you were never truly in love with Mark. You were never crazy for him, even after staying in a relationship for years, while within twenty-two days, you’re head over heels in love with Artemis. He doesn’t need a key to drive to crazy because we both know you’re already crazy for him.’ Caroline thought about it and realized that Shaba was right about her falling in love with Artemis. She smiled, thinking about it.

‘I should go now. Because I want you a lot of energy now; otherwise, I will miss the time when we will have our mate in all the way.’ Shaba teased, on which Caroline blushed. Once she disappeared, Caroline kept thinking about her words.

‘I’m in love with Artemis.’ She mumbled and mentally slapped herself for being such an idiot not to realize her feelings sooner. She couldn’t help but wonder about the right time to confess her love for Artemis. And how would he react after that? As much as she knew Bolt, he would indeed suggest taking the next step.

‘Am I ready for that?’ She questioned herself. ‘Maybe I’m. I will just ask him to be gentle.’ She thought and hid her face shyly in a pillow.

An hour later, she got freshen up and also ate breakfast even when she didn’t want to because she didn’t want Artemis to get worried for her all the time, not when he would be busy today.

‘Should I leave to meet to meet uncle Oli by giving the reason for Orphanage?’ Caroline thought and shook her head at that idea because she knew the Artemis would say a big NO, at least for today.
